Chapter 103: Chapter 103: This Person, a Gift for You

Al was worried and started to get up to drink in her place, but Cameron Fairchild saw his intention.

"Al, you should probably leave in a bit. If you’re seen with us, it’ll cause you trouble."

He was just about to stand, but after hearing that, he had no choice but to sit back down obediently.

Ethan Lancaster held another woman’s fingers. His voice wasn’t loud, but the table was quiet, so the end of his word drifted into Raina Reddington’s ear. "Feels good."

"Right? I specifically learned how to do this. If you like it, Fourth Master, I can do it for you more."

Ethan Lancaster’s eyes were lightly closed. "Serve me well, and you’ll be rewarded."

He was going with ’out of sight, out of mind,’ completely ignoring Raina.

The man beside her kept urging her to drink, and she didn’t dare to offend him. Raina forced down every sip. In the end, everyone else at the table was sober; it seemed she was the only one who was drunk.

’Being drunk is actually pretty good. I don’t have to feel neglected or suffer alone.’

She was dizzy and her vision was blurry; she couldn’t even sit up straight. Her body swayed and leaned to the side, her head coming to rest lightly on the man’s shoulder.

Ethan Lancaster’s expression hardened. ’What is this? Is she provoking me or testing me?’

’Does she think I’ll actually take care of her if she acts like this?’

The man wondered what this meant. ’It can’t be that Ethan Lancaster wants something from me so badly that he’d even offer up his own wife, right?’

He glanced hesitantly at Ethan Lancaster. "Fourth Master, this..."

Ethan Lancaster stood up, grabbed his jacket, and walked out. Al was dumbfounded, completely clueless about what was happening.

Cameron Fairchild shrugged at him. "Party’s over."

"It’s over just like that?" ’Then what’s the deal with leaving Raina here all alone?’

Cameron Fairchild put his arm around the woman beside him. Once they left, the private room was practically empty.

Raina’s head was splitting, but she didn’t even have the strength to sit up. She forced her heavy eyelids open and saw that Ethan Lancaster had already left the room.

A hand grabbed hers. The man’s palm was clammy and disgusting. She tried to shake it off twice but couldn’t.

"Mrs. Lancaster, the Fourth Master has given you to me..."

A wave of nausea crawled up Raina’s spine. ’This is impossible. No matter how much he resents me, he would never do something like that.’

"Look how lucky you are. The Fourth Master gave you such a grand gift..."

"Exactly. And you know, this Mrs. Lancaster isn’t bad-looking at all. Great face, great figure. And being with the Fourth Master, she must be good in... other areas too."

The man was stirred up by the words, but his lust was ultimately suppressed by reason. "She still has the status of Mrs. Lancaster, after all. I don’t think the Fourth Master... even if he really wanted to... would go so far as to offer up his own wife..."

Raina’s face burned hotter and hotter, but some voices just had to cut through at the worst possible moment.

"She’s not his favorite. It’s not like the Fourth Master doesn’t have other women on the side. She’s just a canary locked in a cage. How sad."

Raina shook her head slightly. Tears streamed uncontrollably down her face, flowing into her temples and leaving one side of her face icy cold.

Ethan Lancaster reached the entrance of the Hilton Hotel. A cold wind gusted against him. He was still clutching his jacket, and his thin shirt offered no protection from the cold. It was blown tight against his body, his collar flapping wildly.

Cameron Fairchild left with a woman on his arm. "I’m heading out."

Ethan Lancaster nodded without expression. He stood rooted to the spot, showing no intention of leaving, until Al caught up to him.

"Fourth Master."

He turned around and saw Al was alone. Ethan Lancaster’s expression changed in an instant. "Where’s Raina?"

Al was stunned by the question. "Didn’t you leave her in the private room?"

Now Ethan Lancaster grew anxious. He grabbed Al by the collar. "You were the one who asked her to come, so of course you should be the one to see her home. You—"

He had thought Al would understand what he meant, but he never expected Raina to be left all alone. The people in there were not a good crowd. The alcohol’s effect on Ethan Lancaster wore off significantly. He shoved Al away forcefully. "What are you standing there for? Go get her out of there!"

"Oh, oh, you... don’t worry!" Al was so flustered he could barely speak properly. He turned and jogged back into the hotel.

Ethan Lancaster couldn’t stop himself from following. He knew nothing could have happened in such a short time, but he was still terrified.

Al reached the private room. The door was open, and he rushed inside.

Ethan Lancaster saw him come out a moment later, his face as white as a sheet. "She’s... she’s gone."

"What do you mean, she’s gone?" Ethan Lancaster pushed past him and walked in to see a server cleaning up. His eyes swept the room. "Where... where is she?"

The server stopped what they were doing. "They’ve already left."

"Where did they go?"

"I don’t know."

If they were going to leave, they would have had to pass through the Hilton’s main entrance. There was no way Ethan Lancaster wouldn’t have seen them.

The only other possibility...

Al’s expression changed too. The hotel rooms were right upstairs. He quickly put his hands on Ethan Lancaster’s shoulders. "Fourth Master, I’ll have the front desk check right now. Don’t do anything rash."

Luckily, Al pulled some strings, and the room number was sent to his phone a moment later.

Inside the elevator, Al cautiously glanced at Ethan Lancaster’s expression. A storm was brewing behind his eyes. Al shrank back. ’I’ve really screwed up this time. All I can do is pray that Raina is okay.’

Arriving at the room, Al raised his hand and rang the doorbell.

There was no response from inside for a long time. Growing impatient, Ethan Lancaster stepped forward and kicked the door. "Open up!"

The door was opened soon after. The man inside had just taken a shower and was wearing a loosely tied bathrobe. The moment Ethan Lancaster saw him like that, rage consumed him, and all reason was thrown to the wind.

Seeing his expression, the man knew this was bad. "Fourth Master, what’s this..."

Al yanked Ethan Lancaster aside. "Fourth Master, don’t forget our objective for today."

"To hell with the objective..."

Al’s face paled. The man inside was perceptive. Everyone in their circle knew how to play the game; at this point, how could he not know which lines could be crossed and which couldn’t?

"Fourth Master, don’t misunderstand. I just drank too much and was afraid the missus at home would be unhappy, so I’m just taking a shower here to air out the alcohol smell. A moment ago, Mrs. Lancaster was left alone in the private room, so I let her come here to rest for a bit. I was just about to call you..."

Of course, his words weren’t believable, but they gave both sides a graceful way to back down.

Al let go of Ethan Lancaster and walked into the room. To his immense relief, Raina was lying on the large bed, dead drunk, but it was obvious nothing had happened yet.

Ethan Lancaster finally let out a breath of relief. He walked over and pulled her up, but she couldn’t walk, her whole body sluggish and dazed.

He had no choice but to pick her up in his arms. The other man, knowing how awkward the situation was, had long since hidden himself in the bathroom.

By the time Ethan Lancaster carried Raina out of the hotel, Al had already arranged for a car. ’Tonight was a real scare. Otherwise, I’d have been skinned alive.’

In the back seat of the car, Raina uncomfortably leaned against Ethan Lancaster. He shoved her away, leaving her to huddle alone in the corner.
