Chapter 83: Chapter 81: Why Are You Hugging So Tightly? Let Go, Let Go (Part 2)

That night.

For some unknown reason, Javier Sinclair dreamed of that dilapidated temple in a world of ice and snow, and of his mother, her breath faint as she lay in his arms...

When he opened his eyes again, it was already morning.

He could hear the chirping of birds from the treetops outside his window.

He shifted his hands slightly and felt the woman’s slender waist beneath them. Her leg was draped over his, and her arms were wrapped around him like an octopus.

Javier Sinclair’s gaze swept over her face as his fingers toyed with a lock of her hair. An unreadable emotion flickered across his perpetually cold expression.

Gazing at the person in his arms, Javier Sinclair carefully moved her hands and leg off of him. Then, his figure vanished from the bed, leaving only a wisp of black energy drifting in the air.

When Celeste Grant woke up, the only person beside her was her son, who had apparently climbed over and snuggled up to her at some point. There was no sign of Javier Sinclair.

Her face grew a little hot as she recalled how she had actually slept with her arms around him all night.

She gritted her teeth.

’That damn man is hard as a rock. It’s like cuddling a boulder.’

She squeezed her shoulder. ’From now on, I can’t let this happen again.’

After getting up, she carried her son back to her own quarters.

She didn’t see Javier Sinclair for the rest of the day.

She didn’t see him the next day either and had no idea where he’d gone.

’Oh well, it’s not important anyway,’ Celeste Grant thought. She had her own things to do.

She needed to go home to pick up her parents so they would no longer have to live at the mercy of others.

As for where they would live afterward, she would respect their wishes.

She wasn’t short on money now anyway. If they preferred peace and quiet, she would buy the old couple a Blessed Demesne where they could live a simple life. If they preferred a livelier atmosphere, even better. She could buy them a few streets in the territory of the Demonic Sects to start a business. With her subordinates looking out for them, she wouldn’t have to worry.

Based on her understanding of them, they would be willing to follow her wherever she went.

So even living in the territory of the Demonic Sects wouldn’t be a problem.

She had originally wanted to tell Javier Sinclair, but who knew he wouldn’t be around.

Celeste Grant packed up some of her and her child’s necessities and tossed them into her Storage Ring.

That was the great thing about this world. No matter how much stuff you had, you could take it all with you as long as you had a Storage Ring.

She reached out and picked up her son.

"Son, Mommy’s going to take you home to meet your grandpa and grandma, okay?"

Little Aaron Sinclair, nestled in her arms, clapped his small hands. "Okay! I get to meet Gwampa and Gwamma! Mommy, will Gwampa wike me?"

"Of course! My baby is so adorable. Your grandpa and grandma will definitely love you."

"I wike Gwampa and Gwamma, too! And I wike Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Newida, Gwandpa Elder, Uncle Wook..."

Celeste Grant burst out laughing.

"Haha, you like so many people! Let’s go, son."

Just as she was about to leave, Celeste Grant looked at Nerida.

She spoke up, "Nerida, I’m going home for a bit. I might be gone for a while, so please let your Exalted One know for me."

Hearing that she was going home, Nerida instantly grew tense.

’Did the Exalted One do something to make the Lady angry?’

’Is the Lady running back to her family?’

’It’s highly possible.’

’After all, when the Exalted One gets vicious with his words, he doesn’t even spare himself.’

Thinking this, Nerida asked, "My Lady, why are you going home? Are you not used to living here, or did the Exalted One make you angry?"

Celeste Grant was taken aback for a moment, then couldn’t help but laugh. "No, it’s not that. I’ve just been away for too long and miss my parents, so I’m going home to see them."

"Whew, you gave me a scare." Nerida patted her chest. "I really thought the Exalted One couldn’t even manage to keep a wife around."

Hearing this, Celeste Grant couldn’t help but laugh again. "No, it’s nothing like that."

Nerida thought for a moment and said, "Since you’re going home, My Lady, this subordinate will arrange an escort for you. It’s about time we paid a visit to your parents, as well." ’The main issue was that the Lady hadn’t said anything, and the Exalted One hadn’t mentioned it, so people like us couldn’t very well ask about it.’

’Who knows where the Exalted One has gone. Now is the time for him to step up, but he’s nowhere to be seen. What a useless oaf. It’s my fault, too. I had no experience raising a child, so I raised the Exalted One to only know how to fight and kill. He doesn’t understand the first thing about pleasing a wife.’

Celeste Grant waved her hand dismissively.

"There’s no need. I can go back by myself."

’Let the Lady return to her family all by herself? We’re the foremost power among the Demonic Sects, and we’re just going to let our Lady go home alone? That would make her look so pitiful!’

’Besides, I’d be worried sick.’

Nerida crossed her arms and said, "My Lady, this subordinate will go with you. Our Exalted One has made many enemies. It would be very dangerous for you and the Young Master if someone seized this opportunity."

Celeste Grant thought for a moment.

’She has a point.’

’Nipping all possible threats in the bud is the correct approach. After all, she isn’t alone; she has her son. If they were really ambushed, it would indeed be very dangerous.’

With that in mind, Celeste Grant nodded slightly.

"Alright, then. I’ll have to trouble you to come with me, Nerida."

Nerida nodded, then said, "My Lady, I’ll go arrange for some personnel and then pick out some items from the treasury to bring along."

’You can’t go empty-handed the first time you visit the in-laws.’

"Wait, arrange for personnel? I wasn’t planning on taking anyone. It’s better if it’s just us this time. Too many people would be too conspicuous."

Nerida considered it and nodded.

"Very well, then I will accompany you first, My Lady."

’Later, we can have the Exalted One bring people to pick them up. That will show how much he values the Lady.’

After leaving instructions for her subordinates, Nerida left with Celeste Grant.

The two of them, plus the child, boarded a Spirit Boat and headed toward the Daxton Dynasty in the southern part of the Eosian region.

The Cultivation World was vast.

In the Eosian region alone, there were hundreds of Cultivator Dynasties and Cultivator Sects of various sizes. Those with high Cultivation could use Sword Flight to reach a destination thousands of miles away in an instant.

This was why, in the shows she used to watch on TV, the Monkey King could travel 108,000 li on his somersault cloud. While it wasn’t quite that exaggerated in the Cultivation World, travel was still incredibly fast.

Even those with lower Cultivation who couldn’t fly very far still had all sorts of Flying Artifacts for transportation.

Thus, in this world, a distance of ten thousand miles was considered "nearby" to a Cultivator. In her previous world, a journey of that length would have taken her to another country.

Celeste Grant’s home in this world was quite far from Bloodfiend City. It would take a full day and night via Sword Flight, but a Spirit Boat was faster, able to make the journey in just over half a day.

Later that evening, Celeste Grant finally arrived in the territory of Daxton, at a small border town called Mirewood.

The Grant Family had lived here for generations; they were just a very small Cultivator Family.

She still remembered when she first transmigrated into this world, she thought anyone who practiced Cultivation was terrifyingly powerful.

Now, she saw that they were insignificant, nothing more than the most ordinary Cultivators in this world.

She found the location of her family’s home.

The Spirit Boat slowly descended, stopping in the air above her house.

Celeste Grant flew down with her son in her arms, then put the Spirit Boat away.
