Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss-Chapter 57 - 55: It’s Just, Does He Really Know How to Coax Someone?
「The next morning.」
Celeste Grant returned to her quarters, her face numb. She lay down and pulled a blanket over herself.
She had deliberately told him last night that his kissing skills were terrible, and he had actually pulled her in to kiss her again and again. That’s right, he was seriously *studying*, and in the end, he asked her.
"How is it now?"
"Do you still think I can’t even kiss a woman properly? Hah!"
Celeste Grant buried her face in her pillow, her cheeks burning.
Thinking about all this, she sat up with a start. Celeste Grant couldn’t believe it. She had actually fallen asleep right next to him last night. When she woke up this morning and saw The Archfiend meditating beside her, she felt like she had stopped breathing.
She tiptoed out of bed and ran.
’Something’s not right...’
’What did he want to see me about last night? Things got a little out of hand, so I completely forgot.’
She scratched her head, and suddenly her gaze fell on her wrist. A bracelet was resting there quietly—a silver, dragon-shaped bracelet with red eyes. It looked as if it was staring at her.
She moved her hand.
"Huh?"
’Is this... a Defensive Magical Artifact?’
She turned the bracelet with her fingers, and in the next moment, a ring of array patterns lit up on her body. Black and red Karmic Fire swirled around her, exuding a powerful aura.
Celeste Grant’s eyes lit up.
’This aura... this is a Defense Treasure that can at least withstand an attack from the Nascent Soul Stage! These things are incredibly difficult to craft.’
’This familiar aura...’
’Is it him? Javier Sinclair.’
’So, this is a Defensive Magical Artifact he crafted. How did it end up on my wrist?’
’A gift for me?’
’He couldn’t be trying to appease me just because he felt bad about kissing me, could he?’
’But does he even know how to appease someone?’
She shook her head.
’Unimaginable.’
For the rest of the morning, there was no sign of Javier Sinclair. She had no idea where he’d gone. Celeste Grant figured it was more likely he was too embarrassed to face her.
’Men. Hah!’
He finally appeared in the afternoon.
"You’re leaving?"
Celeste Grant nodded.
"I’m leaving soon. I probably won’t be back for about half a month. I’m leaving our son with you."
Javier Sinclair nodded, then pointed to the bracelet on her wrist. "If you encounter danger, activate the defense. It can block one attack from the Divinity Transformation Stage, and ten from the Nascent Soul Stage."
So that was why he was so comfortable with her leaving. As long as she didn’t venture out of Eosian, she wouldn’t be in any real danger here.
Celeste Grant glanced down at it.
"It’s that powerful?"
She could feel that the bracelet’s defensive power was strong, but she hadn’t expected it to withstand even a single blow from the Divinity Transformation Stage.
Celeste Grant looked up slightly and smiled at him.
"Thanks. You’re surprisingly nice. But why are you giving me something so valuable?"
Her tone shifted as she asked teasingly, "You haven’t fallen for me, have you?"
Javier Sinclair’s heart skipped a beat, but his face remained impassive and cold. "Don’t flatter yourself. I’m just worried you’ll have an accident and die out there, leaving this brat wailing for his mother."
’What a sharp tongue you have.’
She waved her hand dismissively.
"Aiya," she sighed dramatically.
"Oh, the heartache! I thought The Exalted One had suddenly discovered my charms and fallen hopelessly in love with me. That if I called you ’big brother,’ you’d give me your life. I guess I was just being sentimental. In the end, it was I who loved in vain."
Javier Sinclair: "..."
’What an affected woman.’
’How on earth did I end up having a child with her? Our son can’t take after her. Her brain’s not right.’
"I’m off, Exalted One. Take good care of him."
He glanced at her.
"Mm."
"Call me if anything comes up."
A strange, tingly feeling crept into Javier Sinclair’s heart. He was surprised to find he didn’t want this woman to leave. Or perhaps it was just that for the past two months, she’d been fluttering around him like a moth, and he’d simply gotten used to it.
As she spoke, she looked at the little chubby boy in Javier Sinclair’s arms.
"Mommy’s leaving now. You have to listen to your daddy, okay? Don’t go running off, or I’ll come back and spank your bottom."
"I gots it, Mommy. Bye-bye."
"Alrighty, bye-bye."
Celeste Grant leaned in and kissed her son’s little cheek. When she looked up, she saw Javier Sinclair looking right at her.
Celeste Grant paused, then leaned closer to him.
"Big brother, do you want a kiss-kiss too?"
Javier Sinclair froze and averted his gaze.
"No need. I am not a child."
"Proud boy," she said.
She leaned in and pecked him on the cheek.
"I’m off."
As for why she kissed him, it was just a spur-of-the-moment feeling, nothing more.
Besides, he was undeniably handsome.
’Practice makes perfect. A little kiss is no big deal. After all, I still need him ✧(≖◡≖✿) to babysit for me. A little flattery is only appropriate.’
He watched until her leaf-shaped Spirit Boat departed, its silhouette vanishing into the clouds.
Javier Sinclair stood frozen in place.
He held their son with one arm and touched his cheek with the other hand.
"Hah. Another woman who covets me."
"Daddy’s shy, wants Mommy’s kiss-kiss."
Javier Sinclair raised an eyebrow slightly.
"She’s the one who kissed me."
At that moment, Javier Sinclair gazed in the direction Celeste Grant had disappeared.
An indescribable feeling welled up inside him.
’When will she be back?’
’This woman isn’t planning on never coming back, is she?’
’Abandoning her husband and son?’
"Daddy, milk-milk."
"I know."
"I wonder who he takes after, only ever thinking about eating."
Though his words were dismissive, he stroked the boy’s head, a hint of a smile in his eyes. It was clear he doted on the child.
"Let’s go. Your old man will take you to get your milk."
"Greetings, Young Master."
"Greetings, Exalted One."
Everyone they passed along the way bowed deeply in greeting.
They felt that ever since the mistress arrived, The Exalted One’s aura had changed. It wasn’t as terrifying as before. He almost seemed approachable.
’So when The Exalted One has a wife, he becomes henpecked!’
’If this were the past, they would never have believed The Exalted One would be taking care of a child...’
「Meanwhile.」
After leaving the Bloodfiend Den, Celeste Grant headed toward Hopeless Immortal City. Her leaf-shaped Spirit Boat glided through the air, its sides looking like wings.
This Flying Artifact was fast.
It even had a protective shield while in flight, making it very safe to ride in.
She had ’borrowed’ it from the Bloodfiend Den’s treasury, and it worked quite well.
「Partway through her journey.」
Celeste Grant’s Spirit Boat came across an Immortal Ship.
She glanced over, and then her gaze froze.
’An old acquaintance?’
’Gimpy?’
It was that guy, Silas Stowe, one of Jocelyn Grant’s men. He was sitting in a wheelchair looking utterly dejected. His gaze was fixed to one side, while on the other, Jocelyn Grant was flirting and laughing with another man, though Celeste couldn’t hear what they were saying.
Celeste Grant silently took out a mask and put it on.
’Every time I run into them, it’s such an eyesore. I know this is supposed to be a reverse-harem cultivation story, but I refuse to believe these men can actually get along peacefully.’
’Can love really tolerate being cuckolded?’
’If it were Javier Sinclair, forget getting along with other men, he’d probably just kill both the man and the woman on the spot.’
Jocelyn Grant.
A sinister smile spread across Celeste Grant’s face.
She pulled several highly destructive talisman papers from her storage ring and, with a Spell, tossed them onto the other party’s Immortal Ship.
Then, with a WHOOSH, her Spirit Boat vanished.
Behind her, a thunderous BOOM erupted as the Immortal Ship plummeted from the sky. A mushroom cloud from the explosion billowed into the air.
’So satisfying...’
’Totally worth the few talisman papers that cost thousands of Spirit Stones.’
