Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss-Chapter 47 - 45: Broke Through and Grew Stronger Just From Thinking of Her
Celeste Grant fell silent. ’So he knows how to talk back now. And what am I even supposed to say to that?’
She knew perfectly well that he was a man, not a eunuch. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have had a son.
But the thought subconsciously brought to mind images of a bamboo forest, along with certain scenes you’d need a premium subscription to view.
’Whoa, whoa... Stop.’
’Can’t think about that.’
"I’m not talking to you anymore. Go on, The Exalted One, I’m taking our son back for his feeding."
"Very well."
He gave a slight nod, and his figure vanished, leaving only a wisp of black energy behind.
’It’s time I saw what’s happened in my Bloodfiend Den this past year.’
The moment Javier Sinclair’s aura appeared, everyone knew he had emerged from his seclusion.
The elders and protectors immediately went to see him. They reported on the year’s progress, mostly praising Celeste Grant for carrying herself with the air of a true Family Head.
As for Celeste Grant, she had taken her son back to their chambers for his feeding.
「In their chambers.」
Little Aaron Sinclair sat obediently on the bed, waiting for his meal. Celeste Grant took out the special bottle she had for her son, filled it with Spiritual Beast Milk, and handed it to him.
"Here you go, eat up."
Her son took the bottle.
He laid himself back against a pillow and began to drink.
Seeing how adorable he was, Celeste Grant couldn’t help but smile. She sat on the edge of the bed and reached out to stroke his head.
"Finish your milk and go to sleep, sweetie."
Her son was very well-behaved in that regard. Every day at this time, he would have his milk and then go to sleep.
By the time he finished his milk, the sky outside had grown dark. Her son was already fast asleep, spread out like a starfish.
"You must be tired from playing, falling asleep so quickly."
She reached over and took the bottle from his side.
She used a Cleaning Technique to tidy up the bottle before putting it away in her Storage Ring.
’I’m not using one of those common storage bags with limited space anymore. Now I have a high-capacity Storage Ring. Where did it come from? The Bloodfiend Den’s treasury has them by the sackful. Not that there’s much point in having too many.’
’I just picked one with a nice design for myself. My son has one too, and his Storage Ring is loaded with two whole sacks of them. When he’s older, he can give one away if he meets a nice girl.’
’Maybe he’ll be able to find a wife and bring her home, so he won’t have to be a lonely bachelor for centuries like his father.’
She grabbed a blanket and laid it over her son.
Just as she stood up, she bumped right into someone. Celeste Grant stumbled backward, but reacted in a flash, dropping into a split to instantly steady herself.
’That was close!’
’It’s not my fault. He appeared out of nowhere, or this wouldn’t have happened.’
Javier Sinclair’s outstretched hand froze in mid-air, his face a mask of surprise.
He retracted his hand.
He looked down at the woman in a split before him, somewhat impressed. ’Most people couldn’t pull that off.’
"Every time I see you, you manage to broaden my horizons. Celeste Grant, don’t your legs hurt?"
Celeste Grant snapped back to reality.
’Pain... So much pain...’
’It hurts so much.’
’My legs!’
Celeste Grant’s eyes welled up as she looked up at him. Supporting herself with her hands on the floor, she whimpered, "It hurts like hell, this is killing me." She wanted to scream, but remembering her son was asleep, she quickly clapped a hand over her mouth.
She looked utterly pitiful.
’I forgot.’
’I haven’t done a split since I transmigrated.’
Javier Sinclair said, "So it does hurt. I thought you were immune to pain."
Hearing that, she threw her head back and glared at him. "It’s all your fault! A guy like you will never get a wife!"
’Wife? What’s a wife?’
Celeste Grant held out a hand.
"I can’t get up. Give me a hand."
Javier Sinclair chuckled lightly.
"It’s a wonder you’ve managed to stay alive this long."
With that, he bent down, grabbed one of her arms, and hauled her to her feet.
"Gently, gently!"
Once she was steady on her feet, she slowly brought her legs back together.
"I’m dying of pain over here, and you’re making wisecracks."
"What, am I supposed to cry with you instead?"
"That won’t be necessary."
’It’s hard to imagine what The Archfiend would look like crying. To be honest, I’m kind of curious.’
"How idiotic."
He reached out, swept her into his arms, and sat her down on the edge of the bed.
"You’re a Cultivator on the verge of Core Formation, and you still manage to injure yourself like this. I’m speechless."
’Oh, right.’
’I’m a Cultivator about to reach Core Formation, yet a split like that still hurts. Damn it. I guess I moved too fast and wasn’t paying attention. Plus, my body just isn’t that flexible.’
"Later, I’m going to find a book on the Body Refinement Realm and practice a bit to work on my flexibility."
Javier Sinclair shot her a glance.
He held out his hand.
Power gathered in his palm, and as it passed over her, it instantly healed her injury. "There. You’re a grown woman. Be more careful next time."
The moment the words left his mouth, even Javier Sinclair himself was a little surprised.
’How could I have said something like that?’
Perhaps feeling he had spoken strangely, his face hardened as he said, "You have a son. If you get yourself killed, he’ll be left without a mother."
Celeste Grant was speechless. "..."
"Well, thank you so much."
’He finally says something nice for once, and he has to take it back.’
’Still, he was actually concerned about me.’
A faint smile touched her lips.
Celeste Grant looked at him.
"Thank you, The Exalted One. It doesn’t hurt anymore."
’When necessary, I can say a few nice things too. It wouldn’t hurt to get on The Archfiend’s good side.’
"Big brother, you’re so nice."
’Big brother... Big brother...’
The words echoed in his ears, refusing to fade.
Javier Sinclair looked at her smiling face. "I’m not falling for that. And I’m not your ’big brother.’ Shameless."
As he spoke, he took a step back and averted his gaze.
Yet, he could feel his face growing warm.
’Is this woman really not practicing some kind of Evil Technique?’
Seeing him standing there silently, Celeste Grant tilted her head.
’Something’s not right.’
’Why is he acting so weird?’
She thought she could hear his heartbeat. It was a little fast.
"Are you feeling warm, The Exalted One?"
"Heh, do you think a master at the Transcendance Tribulation Stage can even feel warm?"
’Dammit, I really do feel a little warm.’
Celeste Grant seized on the key point.
She shot to her feet, her eyes wide in disbelief.
"You’re at the Transcendance Tribulation Stage?"
"Are you serious? You broke through to the Transcendance Tribulation Stage?"
Seeing her incredulous expression, his face hardened.
Javier Sinclair frowned slightly.
"Do I not seem to be?"
He released a fraction of his spiritual pressure.
Beads of sweat instantly formed on Celeste Grant’s forehead.
It was clear he had only released a tiny fraction of his pressure, yet even that little bit made it hard for Celeste Grant to breathe. ’If I were his enemy,’ she thought, ’I’d be dead in an instant.’
"So you really are at the Transcendance Tribulation Stage?"
"Did you break through during your seclusion, or were you hiding your Cultivation level all along?"
’How is this different?’
’The book I transmigrated into mentioned that Javier Sinclair was always at the Late-stage Divinity Transformation and never broke through, right to the very end.’
’Can the plot really change?’
’Or did I change its course somehow?’
’A mighty expert at the Transcendance Tribulation Stage.’
’Right here beside me.’
Javier Sinclair glanced at her.
"I reached the Late-stage of Divinity Transformation a hundred years ago, but I’ve been stuck at a bottleneck ever since. This time, however, the process was quite smooth, and I just... broke through."
’It is strange, now that I think about it.’
’My Cultivation has been turbulent for the past century. I was constantly coughing up blood, sometimes even losing consciousness. But ever since this woman appeared, things seem to have gone rather smoothly.’
’Take this time, for instance. I originally thought the Karmic Fire in my body would erupt, possibly causing my Cultivation to drop from the Late-stage Divinity Transformation all the way back to the Nascent Soul Stage. But I subconsciously thought of her and that little brat... and then I broke through from Late-stage Divinity Transformation to the Transcendance Tribulation Stage.’
’The truth is,’
’no one would believe it even if I told them.’
