Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss-Chapter 38 - 36: Which of Your Brothers Do I Look Like?
The moment Celeste Grant appeared,
all eyes fell upon her.
Too beautiful.
Stunning.
However, they didn’t dare to stare openly. That was The Exalted One’s wife; it would be a great disrespect.
The old saying "even heroes have a weakness for beautiful women" was not without reason. Even their Exalted One, who was single-mindedly focused on Cultivation and growing stronger, couldn’t escape it. He’d gained a wife, and now he even had a son.
Javier Sinclair, seated in the place of honor, froze for a moment when he saw Celeste Grant.
The woman before him wore an aqua-blue dress, her hair arranged in an updo that highlighted her graceful figure. The Step Shaking on the sides of her head swayed gently with every step she took.
Willow-leaf brows, almond eyes, delicate features, and fair skin. Her small, oval face was as radiant as a peach blossom, and her eyes shimmered like water. Compared to her usual self, she seemed more gentle and lively today.
The hand Javier Sinclair was using to hold his wine cup paused, and his gaze unconsciously followed her.
Seeing that the men below also had their eyes fixed on her, Javier Sinclair downed the wine in his cup in one gulp, setting it down with a sharp sound.
At the sound, everyone present immediately snapped back to their senses, lowering their heads and daring not to look again.
By now, Celeste Grant had reached his side.
But before she could even greet him, she heard Javier Sinclair speak a single word, sent to her via a voice transmission that only she could hear.
"Sway."
Celeste Grant paused, glancing down at herself. ’There’s nothing inappropriate about my outfit tonight. How am I ’Sway’?’
’He never has anything nice to say the moment he opens his mouth.’ Celeste Grant shot him a look and sat down beside him.
At the same time, she leaned close to Javier Sinclair and whispered, "I’ll just assume you’re complimenting me, Your Exalted One. You’re right, I also feel I look quite ostentatious."
The saying "clothes make the man" was certainly true. Celeste Grant was already born beautiful; after changing her clothes and getting dolled up, her appearance was now even more dazzling.
’In the author’s story, the female supporting character is usually the ’all beauty and no brains’ type, destined for a miserable end. But in terms of looks, she’s definitely on par with the female lead.’
’The female lead in this trashy Cultivation novel, as far as she knew, was the charming and gorgeous type with a ’cauldron’ constitution. So, as the female lead’s rival, the book’s supporting female character was a brainless idiot obsessed with love, a fool who only cared about stealing men—what you’d call a vase.’
As she spoke, she reached up to flick one of her Step Shaking hairpins and winked at him. "It’s not my fault I’m good-looking." ’After all, not just anyone can be a vase.’
Javier Sinclair: "..."
’This woman has no shame.’
After Celeste Grant sat down, everyone present rose and bowed to her in salute.
"Greetings, Madam."
’Since it’s for my son’s sake, I might as well calmly accept this identity as the wife of The Demonic Sects’ leader.’ ’It’s good, too. Joining The Demonic Sects means I’ll have people to help get things done. At least when I get into a fight in the future, I won’t be alone—I can call for a group beatdown.’
’If you can’t win, call for backup.’
Thinking of this, Celeste Grant thought of the female lead and her crippled lover. ’I wonder what kind of trouble they’re stirring up right now.’
Her gaze swept over the crowd, a smile on her face as she spoke. "Today is my son Aaron Sinclair’s one-month celebration. On this important occasion, I want to thank all of our brothers and sisters of the Bloodfiend Den, as well as the elders. You’ve all worked so hard preparing for my son Aaron Sinclair’s full moon ceremony and arranging this banquet. To all of you, I want to say, thank you for your hard work. I’m very grateful."
"In the future, my son will have to rely on the good care of all you aunts, uncles, and grandpas. But enough talk. Let’s have a drink."
What did they just hear? The Madam actually said that they were the Young Master’s uncles! For her to treat them this way... one by one, they subconsciously sat up straighter, their hearts touched. This was enough to prove that the Madam saw them as her own people.
"The Madam is straightforward!"
"It was no trouble at all, Madam!"
"We would go through fire and water for the Young Master! If anyone dares to harm the Young Master, they’ll have to step over our dead bodies!" The crowd was as pumped up as if they’d been shot with adrenaline, just short of cackling maniacally.
’That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.’
Celeste Grant poured a cup of wine and raised it.
"Thank you. Tonight, let’s all eat and drink to our heart’s content."
"Thank you, Madam!"
"Thank you, Exalted One!"
Javier Sinclair drank by himself, paying no mind.
He glanced sideways at Celeste Grant, watching her act like the master of the house. Then he glanced at his underlings. ’Why do I get the feeling my position is becoming unstable?’
Of course, the Javier Sinclair of this moment had no way of knowing that his future status in the family would be lower than that of his son’s Cub.
That night.
It was very lively.
There was much eating and drinking, and eventually, everyone was smashed. Outside in the square, people were playing drinking games, setting up rings for sparring matches, and even taking bets on the spot. For a time, the chaotic din was like a pandemonium of devils.
The only thing missing was a DJ track.
Too bad they didn’t have that here.
Celeste Grant had also drunk too much. She was now clinging to Javier Sinclair’s arm, her body pressed against him. She felt like she was floating, a sense of total relaxation washing over her, as if she were on cloud nine.
The wine served at the banquet was brewed from various types of Spirit Plant grains, potent enough to get even a cultivator drunk.
Celeste Grant was no longer clear-headed after just three cups.
"This wine I’m drinking is really good. A little sweet, but it’s got quite a kick."
She felt warm all over, and a layer of Spiritual Energy enveloped her, surging into her body.
"HAHA." She clenched her fists and couldn’t help but laugh. "I feel terrifyingly strong right now."
’Do you even believe that yourself?’
Javier Sinclair: "..."
He, a cultivator at the Late-stage Divinity Transformation, hadn’t said a word, yet she, a mere Ninth Level of Energy Refining rookie, was already feeling "terrifyingly strong."
He sneered. "You can’t beat anyone right now."
Celeste Grant was not convinced.
"How is that possible?"
"Let me tell you, don’t look down on people. I can take on ten of you."
Javier Sinclair: "..."
He didn’t believe it.
Celeste Grant pressed against his arm, hugging it as if she had no bones in her body, and tilted her head up to stare at him.
He was swaying before her eyes, so much that she was seeing double.
"Stop moving, you’re making my head spin."
Javier Sinclair pried her hands away.
"Let go. This groping is improper."
Celeste Grant was in a daze and paid no mind to what he was saying. She kept her hands clamped around his arm and shook her head slightly.
"I won’t. You still haven’t told me if you believe I can take on ten of you."
"Hah! You’re getting full of yourself. Look at the mess you are when you’re drunk. Let me go."
"I won’t. You need to support me, big brother."
"But..." She looked up at him, then rested her head on his arm and continued, "You look a little familiar."
’Big brother? Familiar?’
Javier Sinclair sneered and said, "Is that so? Which one of your ’big brothers’ do I look like?"
Hearing this, Celeste Grant laughed.
’I’ve seen quite a few, actually.’
"I’ve seen so many handsome guys, I can’t even remember them all. They all live in short dramas, tall with long legs and eight-pack abs."
Javier Sinclair narrowed his eyes, his expression calm as he repeated her words. "You’ve seen ’so many’ handsome guys that you ’can’t even remember them all’? ’Tall with long legs’?"
He didn’t care.
He wouldn’t care in the slightest how many men this woman had flirted with.
