Possessive & Addicted: The CEO Could Never Let Her Go-Chapter 491: Idol Burden
It’s not that the door opened, it’s that the power went out!
At this critical moment, the water is gone, and the electricity stopped.
In the pitch-black room, thick smoke rolls, heightening the sense of despair.
Mu Anhan instinctively held the two children...
...
Downstairs, the deluxe room.
The fire wasn’t as severe as in the presidential suite on the top floor, but it’s not trivial either.
Xue Xiangtong, driven by her instincts as a police officer, reached for her gun first, only to remember that she was on vacation and hadn’t brought it.
She took out her phone to call for help but found the signal was blocked.
How were Mu Anhan and the others? And what about everyone else?
She immediately thought to rush out the door, but the fierce fire blocked her way.
Her brain went blank; with no electricity or water, her despair only deepened.
Had she received Qin Ye Peng’s gift? Her phone’s light was all she had to cling to her solitude.
Suddenly, someone burst in from the flames.
"Fool, hurry up and leave!"
A familiar male voice broke Xue Xiangtong’s thoughts.
She looked at the person who came in; he had a blanket draped over him, already catching fire. His face was sooted black, yet his eyes were shining brightly.
"Sixth Brother, how did you get in here?" Xue Xiangtong was shocked to see the first person rushing in to save her wasn’t a firefighter, but the ever-unrestrained Mu Shaojie.
Mu Shaojie laughed, "I’m the closest to you, aren’t I? Quickly, cover yourself with a blanket, and follow me!"
"Alright!" Xue Xiangtong used her phone’s light to grab the blanket, "Sixth Brother, change to another blanket."
She saw how dangerous Mu Shaojie’s burning blanket was.
"Are you stupid?" Mu Shaojie stomped out the fire on his blanket.
"I’m a police officer; protecting citizens is my duty," Xue Xiangtong declared immediately.
Mu Shaojie glared at her, "Don’t say those things in front of Sixth Brother; if there are still flames, just pee on it."
Xue Xiangtong turned her head as he loosened his belt, "Sixth Brother, don’t you have any image to uphold?"
"Once you’re dead, there’s no image to worry about," Mu Shaojie always lived truthfully.
Once his blanket was soaked with urine, he wore it and urged Xue Xiangtong to leave too.
"Sixth Brother, the fire is so strong, and if we rush out, we might get burnt too," Xue Xiangtong hesitated.
Mu Shaojie pulled her along, "Getting burnt is better than getting killed! When will you ever get smart?"
"I’m stupid, you’re so smart, you knew the room was so dangerous but still came in, why?" Xue Xiangtong shouted at him.
"Women are too troublesome, always quibbling. Let’s go!" Mu Shaojie didn’t give her any choice, pulling her and running out.
Xue Xiangtong watched the silhouette in the fire, never feeling Sixth Brother was as glorious and grand as at that moment.
...
The door of the presidential suite was kicked open.
"Han Han, come here!"
Gu Xiaozhan beckoned to her.
The entrance was already engulfed by flames, blazing fiercely as they rushed toward them. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Mu Anhan, holding a child in each hand, ran to his side; they could already hear the chaotic footsteps coming from the corridor.
"Mr. Gu... Mr. Gu..." Lie Huo’s voice penetrated through the flames, "Mr. Gu, hang in there, the brothers are here!"
Every one of them carried a damp cotton sheet, wielding a makeshift fire extinguisher. Faced with the raging fire, these extinguishing tools were trivial, unable to solve the problem.
Yet, they quickly brought over extinguishers from the floors that weren’t burning.
