Possessing Nothing-Chapter 404: Despair (7)

Geniella stared at Lee Sungmin with bewilderment etched in her face.
TUK…TUDUUDUUK…
Her neck, which looked like a twisted doughnut, spun in the opposite direction. Her vision went around and around, and her head followed. She had just gotten slapped.
Slapped…Me?
Her excitement died instantly, and coldness enveloped her. Her euphoria became annoyance, and pleasure anger. This wasn’t in her plans.
Her original intention was to fight Lee Sungmin to lift his hopes almost to the point of grasping them, then snatching that hope away and giving him the greatest despair.
She didn’t intend for him to be this hopeful, to actually think that he had a chance. Her face crumpled.
This couldn’t happen.
Lee Sungmin watched nonchalantly as Geniella’s demeanor changed. He didn’t need to ask what she was thinking; he knew.
She still didn’t understand what was going on. Because she had always been at the top, always been the predator, she didn’t know what it felt to be looked down on and for their relationship to be flipped upside down.
That was good. Just as Geniella wished for Lee Sungmin’s despair, Lee Sungmin wished for Geniella’s despair.
He wanted to see how this arrogant Vampire Queen would face the despair that arose from her inability to control the situation. Maybe it was alright to enjoy that sight just for a little while.
“If only….”
Lee Sungmin raised his hand. Toward the rising Geniella…
Draconic Speech x Yokai Energy
KWAAANNGGGGG!!!!
An immense pressure crushed Geniella’s shoulders. Her bones, which couldn’t withstand the shock, crumbled, and her organs popped.
“You didn’t exist…”
Geniella’s body dug into the ground. She, breathing heavily, turned onto her back. Her rampaging mana protected her body, and attempted to push his force away.
His energy and her mana met, and the space between them distorted.
Why was it like this?
She swallowed another breath.
The night was long, there was a full moon in the sky, and she was the mighty Vampire Queen who had lived for 700 years. Just a few minutes ago, she had been playing around with Lee Sungmin, treating him as a toy.
But why… now?
“If only… you didn’t exist….”
The emotions that raged under cracked the still and calm surface. He couldn’t maintain the rational facade.
He needed a target for his resentment, and he didn’t need to think far. It was her fault. If she didn’t exist, if she didn’t want the Apocalypse…
At the very least. Heoju would still be with him. The Spear King wouldn’t have died either.
The Forest of the Fairies would be unharmed, and the others wouldn’t have suffered all the pain.
PAAAZZZTTTTT!!
The distorting space shattered. Draconic Speech, Yokai Energy, and Geniella’s mana scattered everywhere.
At that moment, Geniella transformed into a blood-red mist and escaped from Lee Sungmin’s vicinity. He let her run away.
The mist collected into Geniella, who stared at Lee Sungmin with a frozen face.
She didn’t want to acknowledge it, but she had to.
Draconic Speech
Asura’s Heaven Slaughtering Art
Dark Lightning Storm Arts
Lee Sungmin was perfectly, flawlessly, reigning over them.
The Predator of Massacre… Geniella whispered in a small voice. Just as Lee Sungmin himself acknowledged it, Geniella had no choice but to acknowledge it. Ř₳NổᛒЕs̩
She faced a small conflict.
She wished for a future where the Predator of Massacre ran rampant. If Lee Sungmin became the Predator of Massacre, she couldn’t kill him.
That would go against the future she sought for hundreds of years.
Of course, she knew that Lee Sungmin was not the Predator of Massacre she was looking for. Even if the current Lee Sungmin said he was the Predator of Massacre, he would never predate and massacre the world. Then…
‘I need to kill him.’
She made up her mind.
She made up her mind to completely slaughter him. It was too late for her to crush him under her heel to bring upon despair. If she did that, she might be the one to be swallowed up.
Yes, she acknowledged that Lee Sungmin had immense strength. She decided to be content with just seeing his face ridden with despair.
Her resolve to kill Lee Sungmin changed her approach. To completely kill him, she let go of her wishes. An infinite amount of mana gaiined killing intent and moved ferociously.
“So arrogant…”
A quiet voice escaped from Lee Sungmin.
Geniella’s body disappeared. She jumped into the distorted space, her hand clawing forward. Her mana, trailing behind her hand, reddened the dark night.
Lee Sungmin stood still. His awakened senses told him he didn’t need to. (TL: “awakened senses” in the raws was 각성한 오성 which literally means “awakened five stars” but the “five stars” mean “understanding/comprehension ability” or something? I just used senses to generalize it.)
He lightly spun something in his hand. Geniella’s claws clashed with something.
Formless Spear
The blood-red mana trailing behind transformed into blades and sliced through Lee Sungmin’s body.
It tried to. The Protective Qi that covered Lee Sungmin was too strong for Geniella’s mana to damage.
PZZZZTTTT!!!
Blood spurted from Geniella’s mouth. Something was piercing through her body, and before she could remove the formless spear, it exploded and ripped her body apart.
Finally, Lee Sungmin took a step forward.
Among the scattered flesh, Geniella’s head was visible.
As he checked what emotion her eyes, rolling to the back of her head, showed, he raised his right foot.
KWAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Shadowless Steps – Second Step: Calamity
Geniella’s flesh flew apart from the explosion, and she slowly regenerated from far away.
Before she could gather her thoughts and form a thought, Lee Sungmin took another step.
Shadowless Steps – Third Step: Brutality
The storm created from his step expanded right in front of her face.
No longer was Lee Sungmin’s Shadowless Steps confined by space. After reaching enlightenment (TL: same word as the “senses” 오성) and inheriting the Lord of the Sama Order and the Blood Demon’s martial knowledge, Shadowless Steps evolved past its former self by a considerable degree.
“Kek….!”
A groan escaped from Geneilla’s lips. Holding her tattered body together, she spread her mana outward.
From the storm, Geniella’s mana thrashed around. She barely managed to divert the trajectory of Shadowless Steps, but Lee Sungmin stood not too far from her.
As if to show her what was going to happen next, Lee Sungmin raised his foot again.
Shadowless Steps – Fourth Step: Insanity
Yokai Energy ran rampant. Geniella’s body shook, an autumn leaf hanging by a thread facing the oncoming winter.
She clenched her teeth, continually spreading her mana around her. The moment a gap appeared, she instantly flew up into safety and collected her breath.
However, her body kept on exploding. Because a full moon hung on the night sky, it was alright. She could still regenerate her body over and over again.
“Tell me.”
A voice spoke from behind her.
She flinched and spun her body, but the hand she swung was caught by the wrist. Pulling her toward him by her crushed wrist, he planted his knee right into her soler plexus.
Geniella’s body folded 90 degrees, and her spine snapped as her back split open.
Blood sprayed out of her mouth as Lee Sungmin grabbed her head with his other hand.
“What does it feel like?”
The words that Geniella had sneered at returned to her. Grabbing her head firmly, Lee Sungmin stared into her eyes, which shook nervously.
She herself didn’t know what she was feeling. It was too foreign.
“….Let go!”
Geniella snarled as she struggled to push him away with her arms.
At that moment, Lee Sungmin twisted the head he was holding. With a cracking sound, her neck crumbled, and her body spun around half-way.
The swinging hands clawed nothing but air, and killing intent boiled.
Her body fell down. She had cut her own neck off. Then, her body transformed into an enormous crimson lake, expanding out into the air and covering the sky as it created waves.
Lee Sungmin threw the formless spear in his hand down.
BOOOM!!!!
A hole appeared in the blood-red lake. Lee Sungmin spread the Yokai Energy that covered his body. Falling slowly, he bend his upper body slightly and spun.
Dark Storm Arts x Shadowless Steps – Fourth Step, Second Form: Lightning Gale – Decimation
In the blink of an eye, the color of the sky changed. Purple lightning transformed the blood-red sky.
Lightning exploded, and the mana scattered away. Geniella, covered in blood, fell down.
Lee Sungmin, who couldn’t control his speed before, now moved faster than ever perfectly.
He grabbed her head and fell, without reducing speed, and angled his descent so Geniella’s head scrapped on the ground.
Her body, lacking her head, which had been ground up, twitched.
Lee Sungmin kicked her body away, and it flew far until it left the forest. There, a hole appeared on her chest, as a formless spear embedded itself into her.
KWAAAAANNNNGGGG!!!!
The earth cracked open, and shards of the broken ground soared up. Geniella, whose head had regenerated, threw up blood and grasped the spear with both hands, struggling to remove it.
“I asked what it feels like.”
She didn’t reply. However, her glare, filled with venom, pierced Lee Sungmin.
“Is it not enough?”
Muttering something along the lines of “maybe I should show you more clearly…” Lee Sungmin held another spear. Very naturally…
Nine Heavenly Spear Techniques, Ninth Art – Infinity
Realizing what he just did, Geniella tried to escape by turning into mist.
However, Lee Sungmin’s Yokai Energy grabbed her body like ropes, holding her body in place.
Infinity tore through Geniella’s left arm, and a scream exploded from her mouth.
Pain beyond what she had experienced ran through her body.
Lee Sungmin twisted the spear embedded in her arm, severing it completely.
“Try regenerating.”
Lee Sungmin glanced at the squirming Geniella and spoke. Not even blood dripped out of the wound.
Cold sweat ran down her face as she clenched her teeth.
The full moon hung from the sky.
She had infinite mana.
Tonight, she would never die, and any wound would regenerate instantly.
However…
Her arm didn’t return. Infinity had pierced something in her… some kind of source. At the end of Lee Sungmin’s spear lay a part of the enlightenment that his master had reached near his death.
Geniella’s shaking eyes stared at her own left arm, still missing. The pain and emptiness that she felt from her severed arm was too… too foreign.
And the emotion she felt…
“I told you to try regenerating.”
Lee Sungmin urged in a low voice.

Gemini watched everything unfold silently. She killed all her emotions, even her annoyance at Lee Sungmin for killing her once, because of the reversal in the situation.
Gemini harbored love and hate for Geniella. She hated her older sister, who had turned her into a vampire without her consent after she herself became one.
Not only that, Geniella kept stubbornly trying to bring about the Apocalypse upon them.
And yet Gemini loved Geniella, the one that forcefully transformed her. She had never doubted the love Geniella had given her for centuries. That love was what tangled Gemini.
To be truthful, it was a laughable conflict. In this situation, even if Gemini intervened, she couldn’t change anything. Even though Gemini’s strength wasn’t something to be ignored, what could she do when her sister was overwhelmingly getting beat up?
Secretly…
Gemini wanted Lee Sungmin to kill her sister. If that happened, she would gain the freedom she had so longed for for hundreds of years.
However, the years she spent with Geniella grasped her ankle.
In front of her eyes… the older sister she spent hundreds of years with would die. That was the conflict. It was something she had longed for so long, but because it felt so close to happening, her emotions crashed into each other.
Even if she stepped forward, nothing would change. However… it was possible to die together… so the road wouldn’t be a lonely one.
Her heart couldn’t come to a decision. Does she have to die like this? You wanted this for so long… for her to die…
Because she couldn’t do it herself, she wanted to bring Lee Sungmin, who had the highest chance, to kill Geniella…
While Gemini wrestled with her thoughts, Lee Sungmin kicked Geniella’s head once again.
Geniella’s body crashed into the ground. At that, Gemini clenched her teeth so much that they would almost grind each other down.
And the gasping Geniella… her eyes saw Gemini.
