Chapter 115: Chapter 115: Rock Climbing

Eric Sinclair, of course, was oblivious to the conversation between the master and the Sword Spirit. At this moment, as he gave the massage, his mind was starting to wander.

Riley Perry was lying on her stomach, arms stretched upward. Her pajama top had ridden up, exposing a small sliver of her fair-skinned waist.

The first time he touched that patch of skin, he had even tried to pull Riley Perry’s pajama top down for her, but the fabric wouldn’t cooperate. That sliver of her slender waist kept peeking out, and his hand ended up brushing against her skin more than once.

It was so tender and soft, impossibly delicate. Moreover, a delightful fragrance emanated from her, drawing him irresistibly closer.

His thoughts began to drift, his face grew hot, and even the air around them seemed to shimmer with heat!

Riley Perry felt the hand on her waist go still and immediately grew irritated. "Why’d you stop? Are you even any good at this? If you’re not going to do it, then get out of the way. I want to sleep!"

Eric Sinclair flinched, startled. "I’m doing it, I’m doing it. You just go ahead and sleep."

"Just do a good job. If you do it well, I’ll have a reward for you."

Eric Sinclair bit his lip, his expression like that of a damsel in distress being harassed by a scoundrel—a mixture of shame, indignation, and a hint of grievance. Yet, he didn’t stop, inwardly refusing to be driven away by her.

’What "sis"? I’m clearly the older one, okay? And she even lets that Victoria call her Ria, and she’s always protecting her. Just thinking about it is infuriating.’

He wanted to tell her she shouldn’t be so quick to take people under her wing, but when he looked down, he saw that the carefree girl had already fallen asleep.

Eric Sinclair: ...!!!!!!

The next morning, when Riley Perry woke up, she was the only one in the room.

A thin blanket was draped over her, the air conditioner was set to twenty-six degrees, and her slippers were placed neatly by the bed. She felt a bit relieved that she had washed her clothes right after taking them off; otherwise, she was afraid that man would have tidied them up for her as well.

Just as she was wondering where that man had gone, there was a knock on the door.

Riley Perry got up and opened the door. A woman in a business suit stood outside, holding two shopping bags. "Miss Perry, Mr. Sinclair asked me to deliver these clothes to you."

’Tsk~ He’s getting more and more thoughtful!’

She took the two shopping bags. "Thanks. Goodbye."

After closing the door, Riley Perry looked at the clothes in the bags. It was another set of athletic wear, this one light blue, with white shoes. Everything was a new release from some major brand, and she could tell at a glance that it wasn’t cheap.

The outfit was actually quite suitable for today’s itinerary, which involved three checkpoints: bungee jumping, rock climbing, and taking a photo with the national treasure, Crystal, at the zoo. Only after checking in at all three locations could they head to the final stop, the Morai Hotel, where the mission would be officially complete.

She glanced at the time—it was just after seven. Riley Perry changed her clothes, packed her things into her backpack, and got ready to find some breakfast. She also sent a message to Victoria Koenig; if she was asleep, it wouldn’t disturb her, but if she was awake, they could go eat together.

The young girl next door, Claire Lee, heard the commotion and came out as well.

"You’re up early too? Let’s go. We’ll grab the cameraman and get some breakfast together."

"He gets up even earlier than we do. He’ll be out in a second." As soon as she finished speaking, Jenson emerged, shouldering his camera.

Just then, Victoria Koenig, who was all ready and about to head out, also opened her door. "Ria, I’m up! Where are we going for breakfast?"

"Right outside."

Victoria Koenig: ...

"Didn’t you see when we got here last night? If you turn left outside the guesthouse and walk about twenty meters, there are a bunch of breakfast places. You can find anything you want to eat there."

Seeing Victoria Koenig’s dumbfounded expression, Claire Lee had to hold back a laugh. It was like watching someone who expected to dine at a five-star hotel get dragged back to a greasy spoon in the blink of an eye.

The livestream had started the moment Jenson appeared with his camera. Although the audience wasn’t large, they all got a good taste of Riley Perry and Victoria Koenig’s "combat power."

Riley Perry bought one of everything from several of the breakfast stalls and shared it all with Victoria Koenig. Claire Lee and Jenson’s "combat power" was much weaker; they were both full after a single bowl of wontons.

After breakfast, Riley Perry followed the map to the first checkpoint of the day: the zoo.

The task was to "take a photo with the national treasure," which simply meant getting Crystal in the shot. It was an easy task to solve. The two of them hailed a taxi straight to the zoo’s panda exhibit. They were early and moved quickly, running inside the moment the gates opened. When they arrived, there were only three or four other tourists taking pictures outside the enclosure.

There wasn’t just one panda in the exhibit—some were climbing trees, others were gnawing on bamboo shoots, and some were playing with toys. Riley Perry made a point to ask a keeper and located Crystal near the rockery.

Riley Perry gave Victoria Koenig a look. The two of them found a good angle, got Crystal in the background, and CLICK, CLICK, CLICK—they were done in just a few shots.

"Let’s move out!"

The two of them walked out at a brisk pace, and the viewers in the livestream chat grew anxious: [Why not stay a little longer? They’re in such a rush! I wanted to keep watching the pandas.]

[They have to complete the mission! Rock climbing and bungee jumping aren’t that easy to get done.]

[Bungee jumping is one thing, you can just close your eyes and jump. But rock climbing? That’s really hard if you haven’t practiced, you know.]

Victoria Koenig was on edge, too. A fear of heights was no joke. The two remaining tasks were both high-altitude activities, and she was terrified.

Victoria Koenig’s heart was in her throat all the way to the rock-climbing gym.

Riley Perry found it pretty funny. "Take some advice from your big sis: maybe this should be the only adventure show you ever do. Otherwise, you’re going to have a rough time."

The directors knew her weakness; they would definitely torment her with it relentlessly.

Having a fear of heights is a pain for acting, too. Luckily, you can use a stunt double for filming, or else it would be pure torture.

When they entered the rock-climbing gym, it was clear the production team had arranged things in advance, as there were no other customers inside. A dedicated instructor was there to explain the safety procedures to them, but Victoria Koenig couldn’t take any of it in.

"Ria, look! That wall has to be at least ten meters high, and the upper middle section even has an overhang! How is anyone supposed to climb that?"

The instructor suddenly smiled. "That’s not the one you’ll be climbing."

Victoria Koenig breathed a sigh of relief. "I knew it. We’re not professionals, there’s no way we could climb that."

The instructor pointed to the side. "You’re climbing this one."

Victoria Koenig glanced diagonally forward and was instantly dumbstruck. "This one’s even harder than the last one! Not only is it taller, but the other one just had a slight overhang. This one is completely suspended at the top! How are we supposed to get over that?

Director Warren! It must be Director Warren trying to sabotage us again!"

Riley Perry asked, "For this rock-climbing wall, does only one of us need to make it to the top?"

Claire Lee answered, "No, Sweetie. Both of you have to make it up. If you fall halfway, you just have to start over."

"So as long as we get to the top, that’s all that matters, right?" Riley Perry asked again.

Claire Lee felt like there was a hidden meaning in her words, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on what was wrong with them, so she just nodded.

Riley Perry began to put on her gear and instructed Victoria Koenig, "Attach one of your safety ropes to me as well. You’re going to follow right behind me."
