Chapter 688: Chapter 369: Serena Attends the Silver Conference! An Unexpected Encounter with a Green-Haired Boy

New Bark Town in the Johto League is hailed as the starting town, unlike Pallet Town, this place is where most people from Johto start their journey; even people from other cities come here to receive their initial Three Starter.

Although Pallet Town also distributes initial Three Starter, and even has Professor Oak stationed there, it’s not very famous in Kanto. Aside from the local residents, hardly anyone chooses to receive their initial Three Starter in Pallet Town.

The status of these two towns in their respective regions is quite different. So even without the Silver Conference, New Bark Town is rather bustling, not to mention now hosting the Silver Conference.

Even though the peak of the bustling crowd has passed, New Bark Town is still jam-packed. When Ash and the others arrived, the streets were filled with people, each usually accompanied by a Pokemon. There were quite a few Miss Jenny maintaining order in the streets.

Generally speaking, a town would only have one or two Miss Jenny, other law enforcement officers are usually recruited from outside. Although the Jenny family has many members, they aren’t numerous enough to station a dozen in a single town.

The situation in New Bark Town implies that its traffic is overwhelmingly high, forcing the Jenny family to deploy personnel from other places to maintain order.

For Brock, this was nothing short of paradise!

He looked at the Miss Jenny maintaining order on the streets, drooling three feet, and in a blink of an eye, appeared in front of one of the Miss Jenny, somehow pulling out a bouquet of roses to start his classic confession.

"Ah! Miss Jenny, you shine like the stars in the sky. Amid this vast ocean of people, I spotted you at first glance; the sparkling light in the night sky shines brightly in my heart like the sun..."

"Alright, alright, enough with the sun. With so many suns in your heart, aren’t you afraid of your cardiovascular system evaporating?" Misty, holding Togepi with one hand, grabbed Brock’s ear with the other and dragged him away from the bewildered Miss Jenny.

Togepi in Misty’s arms raised her little hands like a happy child, her face beaming with joy.

Perhaps this scene amused her, or perhaps the lively surroundings made her happy.

Strangely enough, despite not much training, Togepi is already Elite Level. Generally speaking, this level usually allows at least one stage of evolution. Besides Pokemon like Bulbasaur that deliberately suppress evolution, Pokemon reaching Elite Level can at least evolve once; even Quasi-Gods should evolve at Elite Level.

But Togepi just didn’t evolve. Ash checked Togepi and found no issues, so he just let it be. If it doesn’t evolve, so be it. It’s nice for Misty to have something like a doll to hold in her arms, preventing them from feeling empty.

When Misty returned with Brock’s ear, Serena stood nearby with a slightly embarrassed smile and secretly nudged Ash, asking: "What’s up with Brock? Why does he seem like..."

"Like he’s acting crazy, right?" Ash continued with the words Serena was hesitant to say.

Serena nodded hesitantly. Back in Pallet Town, Brock was quite normal, except for Dr. Tine Wood’s name, he could be considered a perfectly normal person; plus, he’s exceptionally skilled at household chores. Traveling with such a person surely makes outdoor life significantly easier.

But upon meeting Miss Jenny outside, Brock seemed like a completely different person. What’s going on?

"Don’t mind it, Brock is just like that. When he sees mature, charming older sisters, he tends to act crazy. But it seems Brock’s current state is far more severe than when he was apart from us!" Ash scratched his head and complained.

Previously, Brock would occasionally act crazy, but not to this exaggerated extent. Under such crowded conditions, he directly approached someone and snatched a bouquet from a nearby florist without paying!

After Misty dragged Brock back, Ash took the bouquet from Brock’s hand and returned it to the florist with a smile.

That bouquet was someone’s order. If it got damaged or dirty, purchasing it might be unavoidable.

Luckily Misty acted promptly, and the bouquet wasn’t affected.

"Ahem, sorry for being a spectacle. I’m not usually like this; it’s just seeing so many Miss Jenny got me excited. Please don’t mind." The restored-to-normal Brock coughed lightly and explained to Serena.

Making a fool of himself in front of Ash and Misty is nothing unusual, but with a newcomer in the team, especially one who previously admired his household skills, now... his image in Serena’s mind is probably completely shattered.

"No problem, I just didn’t know you had this side, Brock~" Serena folded her hands behind her back, smiled, and spoke indifferently.
