Pokemon: This Ash Is Too Versatile-Chapter 656 - 353: Partner Skill, Complete Suppression of Dragonite!
The golden current tore through the sky, aiming directly at the Dragonite in front of Yuji. Pikachu’s Thunderbolt was significantly stronger than the previous Electivire, not even in the same league!
As the Thunderbolt shot through, the entire field was engulfed in dust and gravel, forming something akin to a thunder cannonball. The Dragonite, who had just been relaxed and at ease, suddenly became serious upon witnessing the attack.
This opponent is different from the ones before, definitely not easy to defeat. It had been a long time since he faced such a powerful adversary.
"You’re excited too, aren’t you, Dragonite? Use Dragon Pulse to counterattack!" Faced with Pikachu’s powerful Thunderbolt, Yuji fearlessly commanded Dragonite to strike back.
Dragonite let out a bright roar, gathering pale purple Dragon-type energy in its chest. The energy combined with fierce winds surged forward as a twisted dragon-shaped wave, meeting the golden current head-on. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
The two formidable moves collided violently in the center of the field, unleashing explosive energy that whipped up dust and waves of air, causing the surrounding sand particles to tremble.
The purple energy of Dragon Pulse and the golden current of Thunderbolt clashed ferociously, neither side yielding, trading back and forth in a seemingly evenly matched exchange. Sparks and deep rumblings erupted at the point of collision.
But soon, Pikachu’s Thunderbolt showed superior strength!
The golden current seemed to be alive as it slowly corroded along the energy patterns of Dragon Pulse, gradually compressing the range of the purple dragon-shaped energy.
Seeing this, Dragonite tried to push its energy, the pale purple light suddenly flaring brighter, but only managing to slightly delay the electric current’s advance, unable to reverse the situation.
In moments, Dragon Pulse’s energy was torn open by the Thunderbolt, with the golden current carrying leftover dust, breaking through obstacles straight towards Dragonite.
"Quick, dodge!" Yuji’s voice was swift, but Thunderbolt was swifter, directly hitting Dragonite after tearing through Dragon Pulse!
Dragonite grunted in pain, staggering slightly, its left wing partially singed black by the current, and a slight numbness spread in the shoulder muscle, but it remained unharmed at its core. After all, Dragon Pulse buffered the impact, and being of Dragon and Flying attributes, it wasn’t particularly weak to Electric moves.
"Junior Elite Level... Another peculiar Pokemon." Yuji muttered.
Why peculiar? A Junior Elite Level Pokemon managed to defeat a Mid-Elite Level in a head-on move confrontation; isn’t that peculiar enough?
At the elite level, overcoming higher ranks is very difficult, let alone surpassing a quasi-god. And the opponent is just a Pikachu.
Pikachu’s overall ability value is notoriously low, whereas a quasi-god’s overall ability value is notoriously high. Generally, it’s normal for a quasi-god to overpower Pikachu, but the reverse... is laughably absurd.
When did Pikachu start surpassing quasi-gods? Coincidentally, such was the case right before him!
That’s why Yuji called it another peculiar Pokemon. ’Another’ because Ash’s peculiar Pokemon are simply countless.
If Yuji knew that Ash’s Pikachu was only at the Gym Peak level, he would be even more amazed, although having experienced the oddity of Infernape and Crystal Onix overcoming challenges before, Yuji is more accepting of such strange battles.
But regardless of Infernape or Crystal Onix, they were essentially aided by Ash’s strength, something that was evident to see. However, Pikachu was different; Yuji felt none of the support that he sensed from Infernape or Crystal Onix.
In other words, Pikachu relied solely on its own strength without Ash helping from behind.
To still be able to fight above its level against a quasi-god in such a situation is quirky enough.
In reality, without the support of partner status, Pikachu attempting to suppress Dragonite in its usual state was truly challenging.
In partner status, Pikachu’s level would disregard all boundaries to rise a level, even moving from Gym Peak to Elite could happen, with ability values increasing as well. Plus, with Light Ball assistance, surpassing a Junior Elite level would be easily done!
"Pikachu, Quick Attack!"
"Dragonite, Extreme Speed!"
Ash used Quick Attack, while Yuji opted for the swifter move, Extreme Speed!
Both Pokemon turned into fleeting shadows, darting across the field, leaving spectators only able to catch glimpses of two yellow streaks flashing across, unable to make out the actions of either.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" The collisions on the field were incessant, sounds revealing constant crashes, but to the audience, all they saw were fleeting shadows, and shaking gravel on the ground, unable to discern any movements.
Even the experienced host failed to perceive the Pokemon’s moves, noticing slightly more than the audience.
The ones truly able to see the actions of the two Pokemon were the two Trainers on the field.
