Chapter 270 - 270: Sudden Visit

"Pichu!"

As soon as they returned, the first to welcome Sato was Pichu, who had been left in Nurse Joy's care.

"Alright, alright, calm down!"

Sato gently patted Pichu, who clung to his neck and wouldn't let go. After a while of comforting, he finally eased its "anger".

Back in the room, the three of them each got busy with their own matters.

Mark naturally went to consult Miss Joy with Togepi in his arms. Although Joseph had already given him plenty of guidance in this regard, Mark could never get enough of it.

Joseph, being the logistical support among the three, spent quite a while just restocking supplies.

Moreover, Joseph had also been preparing for Kirlia's evolution these past two days. Now that he had the Dawn Stone, if Kirlia didn't resist, it was definitely time to use it.

Sato returned to the studio alone. When it came to training his Pokémon, he was never stingy. Now that he had something good in hand, he certainly wasn't going to keep it to himself.

"I'll call you back again in a few days. There's something I'll need you to do," Sato said seriously, patting Pupitar's tough armor.

"Pu!"

Pupitar nodded. Now that it had obtained the Rock-type Origin Ore, it was eager to return and continue sleeping. But hearing Sato's words, it nodded again without hesitation.

Sato first transferred Pupitar back to Joy Town to continue accumulating in the Advanced Mimicry Space.

Then, Sato brought over Cacturne and handed him the extremely ugly Grass-type energy crystal.

This thing was completely unimpressive in Sato's hands... just a withered tree root. But the moment it was placed in Cacturne's hands, it seemed to be activated. A soft green glow emerged from it, quite beautiful.

"Cactu~"

Cacturne seemed a little uneasy. Getting such a good item out of nowhere made it feel it was unfair to the others.

"This item is only usable by you, so just take it. Don't worry, everyone will get something," Sato said with a smile.

Cacturne had always been very sensitive and thoughtful, so naturally, it would worry about such things. Sato was well aware of this.

"CacCac!"

In the end, Cacturne accepted the energy crystal. Then he flexed it muscles, telling Sato he was ready to give it all at any moment.

"Got it. You'll have your chance to shine."

Thinking carefully, Sato realized that many of his partners had received great opportunities. Except for Gengar, Houndoom, and Umbreon, the others had either obtained energy crystals or Origin Ores.

As for Gengar, it had recently received the Hypnosis Pendulum, which greatly boosted its combat power. Though it was an external item, it was worth as much as an energy crystal.

With the idea of sharing "fortune" equally, Sato didn't plan to favor some over others. When he mentioned making a trade back at Steven's house, he wasn't thinking about Mega Stones, but rather more Origin Ores.

Fire, Ghost, or Dark types were all acceptable. As for Poison types, if he couldn't get a Ghost type Origin Ore, then Poison would have to do.

For Gengar, about 80% of its power lay in its Ghost-type abilities. Poison was already covered by Ariados, so it was hard for Gengar to shine in that regard.

But all this depended on Steven's update. Judging from his response, it would be difficult, but not impossible.

For now, since Pichu wasn't in the active battle roster, Sato hadn't factored it into the equation.

"Ah!"

Just as Sato finished his tasks, a miserable scream came from the living room. He immediately rushed out of the studio. Cacturne and Pichu, of course, followed right behind.

As soon as Sato arrived in the living room, he frowned. Mark was floating in the air under some kind of control, plastered to the ceiling and unable to move.

Sato scanned the area, looking for the culprit behind Mark's condition.

But the other party wasn't hiding at all. It sat calmly on the sofa, munching on a bag of chips with a: crunch crunch.

Next to it, Kirlia and Joseph were also sitting neatly on the sofa, completely still. But their panicked eyes and sweat-covered foreheads revealed they were under control too.

"Ralts!" Sato's pupils shrank. He instantly pulled out Zoroark's Poké Ball with his right hand and was about to throw it without hesitation.

The Ralts before him was no stranger. It was the same one they had encountered not long ago in the Seafloor Cavern.

To be able to control Mark, Joseph, and Kirlia all at once while eating chips at the same time... besides that Ralts from the Seafloor Cavern, who else could do such a thing?

Buzz- an intense Psychic wave surged toward Sato, clearly trying to subdue him as well, not even giving him a chance to throw the Poké Ball.

Sato sneered. If it had been another kind of power, he might've been cautious, but Psychic? What a joke.

Dark Energy erupted from him completely. The Psychic wave from Ralts stood no chance and was instantly dissolved.

But it didn't end there. Without mercy, Sato unleashed Dark Energy in a fierce counterattack, following the path of the Psychic energy straight back at its source.

It was like fire meeting oil, it surged back in a violent blaze.

Ralts had never expected its Psychic abilities to fail against Sato. Caught off guard, it was struck head-on by the counterattack of Dark Energy.

With its powers nullified, Mark and the others were freed from control. The moment Kirlia regained mobility, it grabbed Joseph's hand and instantly used Teleport to escape behind Sato.

As for Mark, Cacturne swiftly used Cotton Spore to cushion him with a fluffy pad. With its spiky body, it wasn't about to catch someone with its hands.

Meanwhile, Sato strode forward in two long steps, reached Ralts, and without a word grabbed it by the neck and lifted it up.

"Ral~ts!"

Ralts' head was forced backward, its green bangs falling to the sides, revealing crimson-red eyes full of anger, shock, and indifference. But not a trace of fear.

Buzz!

Ralts' body suddenly began to glow brightly. It was trying to evolve on the spot to boost its strength.

From the previous attack, Sato could tell that in its current form, Ralts was at most at peak Elite level.

Now it was desperate to evolve, clearly trying to unlock more power. Once it succeeded, capturing it would no longer be so easy.

Just the thought of being targeted by a Psychic-type Pokémon that could burst into Elite Four-level power at any moment sent chills down Sato's spine.

So he didn't hesitate. He didn't even consider whether interrupting Ralts' evolution would cause irreversible damage.

Dark Energy surged violently from Sato's right hand and poured straight into Ralts' body!

"Raaah!"

A blood-curdling scream rang out from within the evolving light. The glow of evolution instantly vanished, so bright that even Sato had to squint.

When his vision cleared and he looked at Ralts again, he was momentarily stunned.

Ralts had completely changed in appearance. Its once crimson eyes had turned black and red. Its pure white body was now covered in black splotches.

The soft pink emotion-sensing horn on its head had darkened to a deep red. Only its green hair remained unchanged.
