Plunder-Chapter 143 Holding Hands
"Who let you in?"
Cheng Lu’s face showed anger as he scolded Qiao En.
Qiao En quickly let go, but Zhou Jin’an held her even tighter.
"Cheng Lu, don’t be mean to her. It was me who let this sister come in. It was so scary outside just now, and I was terrified," Zhou Jin’an stammered.
"It’s okay now, they’ve already left," Cheng Lu soothed in a gentle voice.
Zhou Jin’an’s emotions finally eased somewhat, and Cheng Lu looked at Qiao En deeply, "You, come out with me for a moment."
"No, I want this sister to stay with me. Her tummy is so soft, I don’t want her to go."
He pressed his head against Qiao En’s belly and rubbed against it.
Qiao En felt somewhat awkward as Cheng Lu coaxed patiently, "Be good. Cheng Lu has something to discuss with her. After we’ve talked, she can come back in."
Zhou Jin’an looked suspiciously at Cheng Lu, and after a good while, he slowly released his hold.
"Sister, go and come back quickly, I still want a hug," he said, pouting and blinking his bright, sparkling eyes.
Qiao En followed Cheng Lu out of the resting room, her mind filled with question marks.
"Assistant Cheng, what’s wrong with Director Zhou?"
Cheng Lu sighed heavily and said, "Director Zhou had an accident. He suffered a severe head injury. Although he’s woken up, he’s forgotten many things. The doctor said his current level of intelligence is only equivalent to that of an eight-year-old child."
"Will he get better?" Qiao En was extremely shocked.
Forgotten?
Had he forgotten everything?
Those memories between them, had he forgotten those too?
"That depends on the circumstances. The doctor said if he recovers well, he might return to his former state, but if he doesn’t recover well, he might stay like this for the rest of his life," Cheng Lu’s eyes darkened.
Qiao En was still in shock.
Zhou Jin’an was twenty-eight years old, how could he be like an eight-year-old child?
"Except for me, you are the only person who knows about this, so, Miss Xu, I hope you can keep this a secret. It would be better for you, for Director Zhou, and for the entire Nanchen," he said.
Qiao En knew that if Zhou Jin’an’s memory loss became public knowledge, the consequences would be unthinkable.
She nodded, "Assistant Cheng, don’t worry, I won’t talk recklessly."
"Go on with your work," Cheng Lu instructed.
Qiao En quickly picked up her mop and left.
But less than ten minutes after she left, Cheng Lu came to find her in the pantry again.
"Director Zhou is making a fuss about wanting you there."
"How about this, from now on, you stay by Director Zhou’s side to take care of him. As for salary, you can make any request," he offered.
"How should I take care of him?" Qiao En asked.
"Stay with him 24 hours a day, soothe his emotions, and make sure no one discovers his condition. I hope you can move in to live with him. I will arrange for someone to take care of all his living needs. Of course, you can rest assured, his mentality is only that of an eight-year-old child right now, he won’t do anything to you, right?"
Qiao En fell silent for a moment, then lifted her eyelids and said, "I want a monthly salary of fifty thousand."
"No problem," Cheng Lu immediately agreed.
"Come with me," he said, leading her back into Zhou Jin’an’s office.
From the resting room, the sounds of Zhou Jin’an being petulant could already be heard.
"Cheng Lu, where exactly have you hidden that sister? I want her to accompany me," he demanded.
Cheng Lu glanced at Qiao En and said, "Go in. I have a lot of work to do, I’ll go out first."
After speaking, he quickly left.
No sooner had Qiao En entered the resting room than Zhou Jin’an stopped fussing. However, he seemed upset, pouting and ordering, "You, come here."
Qiao En bent down to pick up the scattered items on the floor and put them back in place.
"Director Zhou, stop making a fuss, why don’t you rest a while?" Although his mind was that of an eight-year-old, Qiao En couldn’t immediately treat him as a child.
As she picked things up, he leaned against the headboard, watching her closely.
"I told you to come here," he extended his hand and suddenly grabbed Qiao En’s arm, pulling her towards him.
"Zhou Jin’an, what are you doing?" Qiao En tensed up immediately, instinctively trying to push him away.
Zhou Jin’an’s ink-dark eyes stared at Qiao En, asking in confusion, "How do you know my name? Did Cheng Lu tell you?"
Qiao En did not respond, so he repeatedly asked without getting tired of it.
She finally placated him with a noncommittal "Hmm."
"What’s your name?" he inquired.
"Xu Yayun."
"Can I call you Sister Yun?"
"Whatever you want," Qiao En responded, her tone dismissive, but Zhou Jin’an smiled.
At that moment, Qiao En was astonished.
She had followed Zhou Jin’an for three years and had never seen him laugh like that. He was always tense, his handsome face stern, concealing his moods and emotions very carefully.
At this moment, he was beaming with a brilliant smile, as if there had never been a shadow in his heart.
"Sit down here, lean against this," he said.
The next second, he began to command Qiao En imperiously, instructing her to sit down leaning against the head of the bed.
Qiao En didn’t understand why.
But he was very assertive, and before she could comply, he pulled her, insisting she did as he wanted.
As soon as Qiao En sat down, he immediately lay down beside her, resting his head on her soft, pudgy belly.
The Qiao En of now was not the Qiao En of before; she was not thin but slightly chubby, with accumulated fat on her lower abdomen that felt soft and comfortable.
It goes without saying that Zhou Jin’an really knew how to enjoy himself.
"Zhou Jin’an, you’re going too far!"
Qiao En reached out to push him away, but he tightly held onto her with both hands.
"Yayun sister, your tummy is so soft, it feels really nice," he murmured.
He greedily pressed against her belly, rubbing his head back and forth.
The position was incredibly awkward; the strong scent of his male hormones permeated the air, making Qiao En feel extremely uncomfortable.
"I’m not comfortable, get up," she said.
Qiao En pushed again.
But Zhou Jin’an clung to her like a limpet, whimpering and whining childishly, refusing to let go.
"I’m sleepy, I want to rest, let me lie here for a while," he pleaded.
After speaking, he truly did close his eyes.
Then, Qiao En heard the sound of his even breathing.
He was handsome, with distinct and well-defined features, and he even exuded a certain heroic air while sleeping.
After six months apart, Qiao En was this close to Zhou Jin’an for the first time.
"Stop pretending, I know there’s nothing wrong with your brain," she said.
She reached out and gently pushed Zhou Jin’an.
However, Zhou Jin’an, who seemed to be deeply asleep on her belly, did not move an inch.
He slept profoundly until the sky darkened before finally waking up.
Upon awakening, he complained of hunger, insisting on having roasted chicken.
Qiao En remembered that Zhou Jin’an never ate roasted chicken.
He was very health-conscious; he would absolutely not eat fried or grilled foods. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
"Yayun sister, I want roasted chicken, I want roasted chicken," he whined.
He shook Qiao En’s arm, acting spoiled and willful with a tinge of tyranny.
Qiao En’s eyebrows furrowed, and she showed him a fierce expression, "Zhou Jin’an, if you continue to make a fuss, I will leave right now."
Qiao En pretended to shake off his hand, but he quickly and cautiously held onto her again.
"Yayun sister, I’ll stop," he said, pursing his lips and looking at her pitifully.
"Yayun sister, does it mean I can have roasted chicken later if I act a little more strangely?"
"Depends on your behavior," she stated.
Qiao En gave Zhou Jin’an a sidelong glance.
"Oh."
He dragged out the sound, immediately releasing Qiao En and shrinking to one side by himself.
When Cheng Lu finished her work and came back, Zhou Jin’an was quietly nestled in the blankets, gnawing on his fingers.
He was quiet and not causing any trouble.
"It seems he likes you a lot. You worked hard, let’s go," Cheng Lu said.
Cheng Lu quickly approached Zhou Jin’an to change his clothes.
But Zhou Jin’an rejected her, "I want Yayun sister to change my clothes."
He clung to Qiao En as persistently as if he were a plaster.
"Don’t you have hands? Change them yourself," Qiao En said in a cold, stern voice.
Startled by her tone, Zhou Jin’an’s eyelids drooped immediately, and he obediently changed his clothes by himself.
A few minutes later, Cheng Lu wheeled out a neatly dressed Zhou Jin’an.
"Yayun sister, I was so good, does that mean I can go have roasted chicken now?" he asked, looking at Qiao En with eager eyes.
"Hmm."
Qiao En responded indifferently, opening the door and stepping out.
The elevator doors opened, and the three of them entered together; Chen Yin ran all the way to catch up.
"Director Zhou."
All day long, Chen Yin had wanted to get Zhou Jin’an’s signature on some documents several times but had been stopped by Cheng Lu at the door.
Now, as she greeted Zhou Jin’an, she tried to squeeze into the elevator.
Cheng Lu, however, blocked her from entering, "Secretary Chen can take the next one."
Chen Yin was stunned, "Why?"
"It’s inconvenient," Cheng Lu replied promptly.
Chen Yin was puzzled, her suspicious gaze falling on Qiao En.
She was Zhou Jin’an’s secretary, and Qiao En was just a new cleaner. What gave her the right to take the same elevator as Director Zhou?
"Then how come she can?"
Chen Yin had just voiced her confusion.
Suddenly, in front of her, Zhou Jin’an took hold of Qiao En’s hand.
