Chapter 208 - 208- business trip

The man in front of her was impeccably dressed in a suit, formal and serious, with even his hairstyle carefully styled. He looked like he was about to attend some important meeting.

This image of him was a stark contrast to the slightly disheveled and rebellious figure that had been appearing before her recently. At this moment, in addition to the smile on his face, there was an air of dignity, calm, and wisdom—traits a successful man should have.

Even with their relationship frozen in its current state, she still thought this man was the most handsome.

Seeing him appear so imposing before her made her feel a little embarrassed. After all, her own appearance was rather messy; her face hadn't been washed, her clothes weren't properly put together, and her hair—she didn't even know what state it was in after waking up.

So when she heard him say he was going on a business trip, she hurriedly muttered an "oh" and grabbed Olive, intending to head back to her room. He suddenly reached out and pressed his hand on her shoulder. She turned around in confusion, only to meet his disapproving gaze, his brows furrowed in displeasure.

"You... don't have anything you want to say to me?"

Albert said this while giving Olive a look, wanting to stall and make the little girl leave on her own. Ahem, this was to create an opportunity for him to kiss her, since that scene was not suitable for children.

Unexpectedly, the woman took him seriously. With a frown on her delicate brows, she tilted her head for a moment before responding seriously,

"Mr. Wilson, Olive has been back for so many days. Shouldn't you find her a kindergarten?"

He immediately became visibly annoyed, but fortunately, he had already considered this matter, so his response wasn't too awkward.

"Right, it should be done. I was planning to talk to you about it today, but then I had to go on this business trip..."

As he spoke, he took a step into the room. After being outside for so long, she hadn't even invited him in to sit, though he was in a hurry. But as long as he was with her, even a second longer was worth it.

She immediately gave him a wary glare.

"Then let's wait until Mr. Wilson returns from his business trip to discuss it!"

Just as Cynthia was about to leave, Olive finally remembered the promise she had made with her dad and quickly wriggled down from her arms.

"Mummy, I want to go play in my little bedroom!"

"Alright, Mummy will go with you!"

Cynthia gently patted her little head and said softly, but the little girl suddenly darted away from her hand.

"No need, Mummy. I'll go play by myself. You can stay here and kiss Daddy. Hehe..."

As she spoke in her tender voice, her small body had already rushed into her little bedroom.

On the way here, Daddy had told her that when they saw Mummy, she should go play in her little bedroom first because he wanted to kiss Mummy. Hehe, Daddy really isn't shy.

"What? Kiss?"

Cynthia stood there, momentarily stunned, unable to immediately process what the unexpected words meant. Then she heard the door behind her close, and strong arms reached out to gently pull her into an embrace, holding her tenderly.

His embrace wasn't as rough as before; it was incredibly soft, as though he was treating her like a fragile treasure, carefully holding her as if afraid to break her.

She looked up at him in a daze, and the intense heat in his eyes made her head spin. Without thinking, she gently closed her eyes. Then his kisses began, soft and tender, falling in a flurry and instantly enveloping her.

She suddenly forgot to struggle and allowed him to gently hold her lips, leaving a soft, tender imprint as he kissed her. In the warm morning sunlight, the two figures stood there, quietly embracing and kissing.

Her rare submission surprised Albert. In truth, when he kissed her, he was trembling with uncertainty, afraid she might push him away or scold him harshly.

But instead, she gave him such a wonderful sensation that he couldn't help but hold her tighter and kiss her deeper. His agile tongue parted her lips, entered her mouth, and tangled with her little tongue, dancing together.

Just as the two figures were kissing more deeply, a sharp ringtone broke through the intimate atmosphere. Cynthia, realizing what had happened, blushed and quickly pushed him away before hurriedly fleeing into Olive's small bedroom.

Albert tugged at the tie around his neck, muttering a low curse in frustration as he fumbled for his phone in his pants pocket. With an irritated tone, he snapped into the phone, "What is it?"

Jim's innocent voice came through the phone, "Boss, if you don't leave now, you'll miss your flight..."

"I know!"

He angrily muttered those words to Jim before abruptly hanging up, his face tense as he glanced at the closed bedroom door. He ran a hand through his hair and started walking toward it.

"Mummy, why is your face so red?"

"Shut up!"

Inside, Olive's innocent question and her frustrated shout at Olive echoed. Albert couldn't help but chuckle lowly, remembering her sweet scent just moments ago. His lower abdomen tightened painfully, and he felt a strong impulse to break through the door and hold her in that moment. But this meeting was crucial, and he had to attend.

He raised his hand and knocked on the door. The sound inside instantly stopped. Leaning against the door, his voice carried a hint of reluctance, "I'm leaving..."

He wouldn't go in to see them; he didn't want to embarrass the little woman. Anyway, there would be plenty of time in the future. She hadn't outright rejected him this time, so he figured there would be another chance to enjoy her company.

"Daddy, bye—hey, hey, Mummy, I want to go kiss Daddy goodbye, why are you holding me?" Olive's voice was filled with displeasure.

Albert leaned against the door and chuckled softly, "Olive, Daddy's in a hurry, no kisses this time, but I'll bring you a present when I get back!"

"Yay, yay!"

Olive cheered happily from inside, but she remained silent about her mother. He didn't press her; with her stubborn nature, she might actually kick him out if he pushed too hard.

It wasn't until she heard the sound of the door closing that Cynthia let out a long sigh, falling backward onto the bed. Thinking about the earlier scene that made her face flush and her heart race, her face burned with heat. Damn it, she had been so absorbed in his kiss that she forgot to resist.

Olive crawled over, blinking her big eyes, giggling as she asked, "Mummy, did Daddy's kiss make you feel shy? Is that why your face is all red?"

"Olive Wilson, you shut up!"

Cynthia suddenly sat up on the bed, glaring at the innocent little girl. If it weren't for that little rascal's comment about kissing, she wouldn't have been so flustered and caught off guard by him.

Seeing that her mother wasn't pleased, Olive stuck out her tongue and made a face before running off to play by herself. Cynthia, still fuming, stormed out of the room and began cleaning the house. Even though the housekeeper had already come to clean, she couldn't stop herself from doing it.

After thoroughly tidying up the entire house, her restless mood gradually settled down.

She spent the day at home with Olive, and in the evening, she called Quinn. However, it was Arven who picked up. Cynthia was slightly puzzled and asked, "Where's Quinn?"

On the other end, Arven hesitated before speaking. "BOSS... BOSS... he..."

Hearing Arven's tone, Cynthia couldn't help but grow anxious.

"What's happened to him? Is something wrong?"

After all, Quinn was involved with the underworld, so injuries or attacks were not uncommon.

"It's nothing... just, uh... there was a small issue at one of the branches. He's busy with a meeting to handle it right now..."

Arven quickly explained, and Cynthia finally relaxed with a sigh.

"Well, I won't disturb him then. I'll hang up now!"
