Playboy: Medical and Martial Master-Chapter 23: Throwing the First Punch!
Yang City East District.
Li Family Villa.
After returning home from the hospital, Li Changqing went straight to his room. He sat cross-legged on the bed and began his cultivation, checking for changes within his body. The reason he had suddenly fainted and been rushed to the hospital was a recent mishap during his cultivation.
Feeling the strand of pure True Qi inside him, the old man’s gaze trembled. He couldn’t help but recall the divine figure he had encountered on the battlefield in his youth.
This True Qi... it’s exactly the same as that divine man’s! Sun Zhe, with the surname Sun... he possesses the same True Qi and miraculous medical skills. Could he be that person’s descendant?
At this thought, the old man could no longer remain seated. He hurriedly called for his son, Li Gang.
"Gang’er, quick, take me to the hospital!"
Seeing the urgency on his father’s face, Li Gang was startled. "Dad, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell again?"
Li Changqing grabbed his hand and said excitedly, "Quick, let’s find Divine Doctor Sun! I want to see him and thank him in person!"
Hearing this, Li Gang secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He had thought his father had suffered another relapse and was rushing to the hospital.
"Dad, don’t worry. Divine Doctor Sun saved your life, and our Li Family will certainly reward him handsomely," Li Gang said. "But in a place like a hospital, giving a large gift publicly could attract some negative attention."
Hearing this, Li Changqing gradually calmed down and walked over to a chair to sit. "You have a point."
Li Gang poured him a cup of tea and asked, "But Dad, why are you in such a hurry to see Divine Doctor Sun?"
Li Changqing replied solemnly, "You don’t need to ask about these things. In short... this Divine Doctor Sun’s background is anything but simple." After a pause, he added, "Our Li Family must cling tightly to this powerful connection. After all, I already have one foot in the grave. After I’m gone, whether the Li Family can remain standing, or even climb higher, might very well depend on Sun Zhe."
Li Gang’s eyes widened at these words, and he committed them to memory. He had never doubted his father’s judgment.
"In that case, should I call Meng Hailiang right now and ask him to take good care of Divine Doctor Sun?"
Li Changqing nodded.
Li Gang took out his phone and dialed Meng Hailiang’s number. "Hello, Director Meng? I have some instructions for you regarding Divine Doctor Sun, Sun Zhe."
A short while later, Li Gang hung up and returned to his father’s side.
Li Changqing suddenly gave a meaningful smile. "Shiyan is a grown woman now. We should let her spend more time with Divine Doctor Sun. Young people have plenty to talk about, and as they talk, feelings are bound to develop, aren’t they?"
Li Gang immediately understood his father’s intentions and nodded. "I’ll go talk to Shiyan later and tell her to go find Divine Doctor Sun."

Yang City People’s Hospital.
Cafeteria, second floor.
While eating, Sun Zhe asked, "Little Mom, who was that man just now?"
Zhu Yan sounded a little helpless. "His name is Zhao Junjiang. He’s the director of our hospital’s orthopedics department and Hospital President Meng Hailiang’s brother-in-law. He’s used to throwing his weight around here, and no one can control him."
Sun Zhe glanced at Zhu Yan. "Has he harassed you before?"
Zhu Yan shook her head with a smile. "Let’s just forget it. I just ignore him." She added, "Ah Zhe, you just started working here, and it wasn’t easy for Little Mom to find you this job. It’s best not to provoke people like him."
Sun Zhe lowered his head and continued eating without another word.
This job is important, but it’s not more important than Little Mom.
SLAM!
Just then, Zhao Junjiang walked over and slammed his tray heavily on the table before shamelessly sitting down next to Zhu Yan.
"Yanmei, why are you being so cold? We’re colleagues. What’s wrong with eating and chatting together? It’s like you’re avoiding the plague. Are you afraid I’m going to eat you?"
Suppressing her anger, Zhu Yan said coldly, "Director Zhao, what exactly do you want?"
Zhao Junjiang grinned, a sleazy smile spreading across his face. "I don’t want anything. I just want to get a little closer to you, that’s all."
"Who wants to get close to you?" Zhu Yan looked at him with disgust and quickly scooted away.
At this moment, Sun Zhe spoke up. "The cafeteria is a place for eating, not for making people sick."
Hearing this, Zhao Junjiang’s expression turned cold. He glared at Sun Zhe, who was sitting opposite him, and squinted at the work badge hanging from his neck. "Your name is Sun Zhe, right? An intern assistant in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department. Are you new?"
Sun Zhe’s face was expressionless, as if he hadn’t heard him. "There are so many empty seats. Why do you insist on bothering us?"
Zhao Junjiang chuckled disdainfully. "Just a lowly assistant, and you dare talk to me like that? So what if I want to bother you?" He suddenly slammed his hand on the table.
BANG!
The loud noise startled all the medical staff eating nearby.
Zhao Junjiang pointed a finger at Sun Zhe, his eyes filled with menace as he said harshly, "Kid, I advise you to stay away from Zhu Yan. Believe me, with a single word, I can make sure you don’t have a job to come to tomorrow." He sneered, "What a piece of work! If you don’t have a mirror, take a piss and look at your own pathetic reflection!"
He had intended to crush Sun Zhe with his intimidating presence. But Sun Zhe was completely unfazed.
Sun Zhe smiled faintly. "Make it so I can’t come to work? You’re just a director. Do you really have that much power?"
Zhao Junjiang sneered. "Why don’t you try me and find out?" As he spoke, he suddenly reached out and placed his hand on Zhu Yan’s shoulder. "Forget it, Yanmei. Let’s keep eating and ignore this little bastard. He won’t be coming to work tomorrow, anyway."
Sun Zhe’s eyes fixed on the hand on Zhu Yan’s shoulder, and fury flared within them. "Get your filthy hand off her!" he said in an icy tone.
Zhao Junjiang just chuckled maliciously and, instead of backing down, tightened his grip and pulled Zhu Yan into an embrace.
Zhu Yan cried out in anger and struggled fiercely, but how could a slender woman like her break free from a grown man?
Just then, Sun Zhe shot to his feet, grabbed Zhao Junjiang by the collar, and yanked him into the air.
THUD!
Zhao Junjiang was slammed heavily onto the ground.
Even Sun Zhe himself hadn’t realized that since he started cultivating True Qi, his strength had far surpassed that of an ordinary person. A man of Zhao Junjiang’s size, weighing well over a hundred pounds, was like a small sandbag in his hands.
The onlookers from the medical staff were stunned by the scene.
"Oh my god, he actually dared to attack Director Zhao!"
"He really doesn’t know his place!"
"I bet he’ll be packing his bags and leaving before the day is over!"
Zhu Yan, who had been frightened, finally snapped out of it and rushed to pull Sun Zhe back. "Ah Zhe, you child... Why did you attack him? Didn’t I tell you not to cause trouble?"
But Sun Zhe was perfectly calm. He said to Zhu Yan, "It’s fine. You’re more important than this job. I won’t let anyone bully you. You can’t let scum like him get away with it!" With that, he moved forward again, grabbed Zhao Junjiang’s collar, and hauled him up from the floor.
Looking at Sun Zhe’s tall back, Zhu Yan’s beautiful eyes couldn’t help but turn red. Though she hadn’t wanted him to be so impulsive, her heart was now, for some reason, filled with an overwhelming sense of security.
"You little shit, fuck you!" Zhao Junjiang glared at Sun Zhe and spewed curses. "You dare to hit me? You’re fucking finished, I’m telling you!"
Sun Zhe’s patience ran out. He kicked Zhao Junjiang in the stomach and then followed up with a sharp slap across his face.
At this point, Sun Zhe had resigned himself to the consequences. The worst that could happen was a trip to the police station or getting fired. He had nothing now anyway, and a man with nothing to lose fears nothing!
"Zhao Junjiang, I’m warning you! If you ever dare to harass her again, I’ll be waiting for you at the hospital entrance every single day!"
"What’s going on? Who’s fighting and causing a disturbance here?!"
Just then, Meng Hailiang’s authoritative voice cut through the commotion from behind the crowd. Hearing his voice, the onlookers quickly parted to form a path.
When Zhao Junjiang saw Meng Hailiang, he looked as though he’d seen his savior. He clutched his stomach and scurried over. "Brother-in-law, this little bastard attacked me! Look, look at what he did to me! I need to get a CT scan right away! Ow... It hurts like hell!"
Seeing his brother-in-law beaten up like this, Meng Hailiang was consumed by rage and turned his furious gaze on Sun Zhe.
But the next moment, when he got a clear look at Sun Zhe’s face, he froze.
The towering rage vanished in an instant.
"Sun... Sun Zhe?"
He never would have imagined that the person who had done the beating was Sun Zhe. Just a short while ago, District Chief Li himself had called, instructing him to take good care of Sun Zhe. He was to provide every possible convenience at the hospital—and even if it wasn’t convenient, he was to make it so.
He had been planning to find some time in the afternoon to invite Sun Zhe for tea, to chat and build a rapport. Little did he expect to run into him like this in the cafeteria.
