Path to Becoming the Greatest Space Mercenary-Chapter 108 Causing Havoc
"Damn it! What are the police doing?! Shouldn’t they be here already!?"

"Last time I called they said they’d be here as soon as they could. But I can’t get through now. Every transmission I send gets dropped almost immediately."
Two security personnel from a company called Stortbui Chemicals were complaining about the lack of police assistance as they were pinned down by laser fire from a group of heavily armed terrorists.
They had put up a decent fight so far and prevented the criminals from breaching the building, but it was only a matter of time now before their defenses faltered.
Stortbui Chemicals’ security simply was not equipped to deal with such a threat. Their job was to look out for thieves or detain the occasional irate customer or trespasser. Anything bigger was supposed to be a job for the colony police to handle. But with so many attacks occurring simultaneously, places that were holding out better or had fewer attackers were a lower priority.
"Sh*t! Run! Run!"
Glancing out of the window, one of the security officers noticed that the terrorists had just finished setting up a laser cannon turret.
The building they were in was sturdy, but it was not going to be able to hold up to a direct blast from such a powerful weapon.
By some miracle the two of them got clear before a bright flash of light impacted where they had been just moments ago.
The ensuing explosion knocked them off their feet and they felt shards of rubble hitting them as they smashed into the floor.
If there was any consolation, it was that their body armor had protected them from the worst of it, but now that the building had been breached, it was only a matter of time before the terrorists broke in and slaughtered everyone inside.
"I guess this is the end."
"Yeah, but I’ll be damned if we don’t take some of them with us."
Pulling themselves up to their feet, the two guards prepared for their final stand.
Yet the assailants that should have been storming the building were standing around, with their attention diverted elsewhere.
Cautiously, one of the security officers poked his head out to see what was going on.
He had to squint to make it out, but in the distance, he saw a metal giant running down the street.
"No wait! That’s someone in power armor."
At first the man thought that this might be reinforcement for the terrorist, but when they began scrambling and pointing their weapons towards the approaching figure, it became clear that this was not the case.
It seemed like they would get their laser cannon turned around and blow the person in power armor away, but right before they could get off a shot, a rain of micro missiles fell down on their position.
Large explosions consumed the heart of the terrorist’s formation, and those that remained scattered in confusion.
Once he had regained his wits after the shocking development, the security guard realized that this was his time to strike back and aimed his pistol at the fleeing terrorists.
Except, before he could get a shot off, he watched a laser streak down from above and piece straight through the head of the individuals he was aiming at.
A moment later, more lasers seemed to fall from the sky.
Looking up, the guard saw two people atop a building across the road holding laser rifles. For a moment, he thought they were humans, but as he focused on them a bit more, he noticed that among their light brown hair were two twitching feline ears.
The two of them were snipping any of the terrorists that either tried to flee or enter the building.
Eventually the remining group of attackers formed up around a shield generator they hastily set up and started to return fire.
However, the two individuals that had been on the roof had already moved by then, and the person in power armor was able to deflect the blasts with his own shields as he rapidly approached.
With most of their focus on the guy in power armor, the terrorist failed to notice the massive red figure swiftly approaching them from out of a nearby alley.
By the time any of them turned to attack the man, he was already too close.
The few lasers that were fired off at him were easily blocked by the hard light shield he wielded.
Then with a hard light halberd in his other hand, the hulking Bahnen swung at the forcefield protecting the terrorists.
It managed to hold up from the blow, and the man quickly retreated when over a dozen weapons were aimed at him.
Unfortunately, for the terrorist, they had forgotten about what was likely the largest threat.
The person in power armor who they thought was still far enough away to ignore for now was incoming at a breakneck speed.
Thrusters were propelling the power armor through the air, and before the people cowering within their protective shield could turn around, the bulky suit of armor impacted like a cannonball.
Already weakened from earlier attacks, the forcefield reached its limit and dissipated in a bright flash of light.
After that, it became like hell for the terrorists.
The man in power armor and the Bahnen using hard light weaponry tore them apart at close range. While any that tried to run away were shot down by the two brown-haired siblings that seemed to appear and disappear as if they were phantoms.
Before long, the mob of terrorists that had been close to infiltrating Stortbui Chemicals’ building and killing everyone inside were completely annihilated. Four individuals had crushed the entire group that the company’s security force could hardly keep at bay.
"They’re not Alliance Police. So, who are they?" The security officer that had watched the entire battle unfold muttered to himself.
The answer to his question came but a moment later.

"Hey, I just got word that some mercenaries accepted the job our chief posted and are here to back us up."
Turning towards his patterner, the man let out a sigh of relief and pointed towards the now quiet battlefield.
"More than acting as backup, they took care of everything for us. I didn’t know there were any mercenaries that strong here. Just who are these guys?"
"Hm, the chief told me that their led by a four star mercenary named Avery. They must be the real deal if they handled all those terrorists like it was nothing."
As the two guards looked out at their saviors, they saw the group of four heading off in the direction of another battle now that their job here was complete.
