Pampered Poisonous Royal Wife-Chapter 2003 - 498: Humbled (Part 2)
The person in charge was dumbfounded, "Wh-why? General Gu is incredibly competent, and has been our leader these days. Miss An, you can’t just take General Gu away on a whim, this is official business."
Everyone quietly watched An Yiqing. They were all very displeased with her taking Gu Yelin away over personal grievances. Of course, one person was secretly pleased, and that was Xia Tian.
An Yiqing glanced at the crowd and finally, with a half-smile, fixated her gaze on Xia Tian.
"I only did it because I listened to Miss Xia."
The person in charge was startled, a bunch of question marks in his head, "Miss An, Xia Tian is young, don’t mind her. But she does have a point; non-professionals should indeed not be involved in the investigation. However, you can stay by General Gu’s side to accompany him. Miss An, you’re generous, don’t stoop to Xia Tian’s level."
"Wang Song! What are you saying?" Xia Tian was displeased, "This is the crime scene, Miss An is a non-professional, according to the rules, she should avoid suspicion. Miss An, don’t get upset with my bluntness, but you really shouldn’t get involved in this case. I think you should leave with your bodyguard and give General Gu back to us."
Xia Tian emphasized the words "give back," making it seem as if An Yiqing was the outsider coming to take Gu Yelin away.
Wang Song, the person in charge, broke out in a cold sweat but didn’t refute Xia Tian’s words. Not only him, but other colleagues also didn’t find Xia Tian’s words wrong.
The atmosphere was awkward. Tan Yulin and others put in great effort to refrain from hitting Xia Tian. As for Gu Yelin, he managed to suppress his anger only after An Yiqing’s fingers dug into his palm, turning it red.
However, his gaze towards Xia Tian grew colder and colder.
Suddenly, An Yiqing let out a light laugh, seemingly mocking and disdainful. She raised her eyes to scan the crowd, her expression gradually turning cold.
"Didn’t Miss Xia just say that non-professionals shouldn’t be involved in the investigation?"
Xia Tian was stunned, not understanding An Yiqing’s implication.
"It seems you all are unaware; my Ah Lin never attended college, but he earned a PhD at the age of sixteen. Oh, and it’s an economics doctorate from Country Jin’s XX Polytechnic."
Xia Tian was stupefied, and so were others. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
General Gu... is actually in economics?! Wasn’t he in a military academy?!
Little did they know, Gu Yelin had been thrown into the military by Old Master Gu since he was a child, constantly trained in the army. Yet, he never attended any military academy; all his professional knowledge was obtained through one-on-one tutoring by the Gu Family’s instructors. He has more certificates and achievements in military fields than those professional students!
However, he is genuinely an economics PhD holder, and even when An Yiqing found out about this back then, it took her quite a while to recover.
Looking at the dumbstruck crowd, An Yiqing smiled in a way that made people’s teeth itch.
"So, since Miss Xia said non-professionals shouldn’t be involved in the investigation, I’ll take Ah Lin away, so as not to make a spectacle of ourselves here."
The corners of the Hong Ci people’s mouths twitched, wondering when their boss became someone to make a spectacle of.
Gu Yelin’s mouth twitched as well. He glanced down at his brightly smiling wife, feeling that the days ahead wouldn’t be easy.
Before the crowd could speak, An Yiqing grabbed Gu Yelin’s hand and left.
The people from City A Police Station finally snapped back to reality and all rushed forward with the person in charge to block their way.
"General, General Gu, you can’t leave. If you leave, what will happen to the case?" The person in charge, Wang Song, almost cried without tears, wishing to strangle Xia Tian for her loose tongue!
Gu Yelin coldly looked at Wang Song and expressionlessly uttered four words, "I’m not professional."
An Yiqing quickly lowered her head, suppressing a laugh.
Wang Song was about to kneel and sing ’Conquer’ to Gu Yelin, feeling utterly despairing.
"No, General Gu, you’ve misunderstood! Even though you’re not professionally trained, you’re exceptionally competent! You can’t leave; if you do, how will we explain it to our superiors?" Wang Song wiped the sweat from his forehead and turned his target to An Yiqing with a smile, "Miss An, please help persuade General Gu. We can’t complete this investigation without him!"
An Yiqing raised an eyebrow with amusement, "Didn’t you say non-professionals shouldn’t be involved in the investigation?"
"Except for those who are exceptionally competent," Wang Song sweat profusely.
"What about me?" An Yiqing asked again.
"Miss, Miss An, naturally, you’re exceptionally competent and can be involved in the investigation..."
Just as Wang Song finished speaking, Xia Tian became displeased.
"Captain Wang! Miss An she..."
"Shut up! Xia Tian, if you keep causing trouble, get back to the station!" Wang Song glared at Xia Tian, unable to hold back his anger. He particularly wanted to point his finger at her nose and call her an idiot! If Gu Yelin really left, their entire team would be screwed!
Xia Tian was dumbfounded by the yelling. She was usually the center of attention in the station, never scolded like this before.
Immediately, her eyes reddened, trembling with anger.
"Wang Song, you’re something! You dare to yell at me?! Just wait!" Xia Tian, losing her senses in anger, grabbed her bag and stormed off. As she passed by An Yiqing, she snorted coldly and bumped into her.
An Yiqing had anticipated this, and as Xia Tian approached, she sidestepped to avoid her.
Xia Tian, using too much force, missed her mark. Unable to control her strength, she stumbled and fell hard to the ground.
With a "bang," everyone cringed at the thought of the pain.
Gu Yelin led An Yiqing to a safe spot, watching Xia Tian, who was still on the ground in pain, struggling to get up. An Yiqing, enjoying the spectacle, clicked her tongue twice.
"Miss Xia is indeed light as a swallow, agile, truly deserving of the word ’professional.’
