Pampered by My Secret Husband-Chapter 554 - 557: Well done, Sophie Sullivan!
Lucifer wore an expression that clearly said, ’Cecilia Branford, you’re humiliating me.’ He was her childhood sweetheart; they’d grown up together! How could he possibly not know her nickname? What was this, if not a direct insult?
Lucifer was angry. He snorted arrogantly and turned his face away.
Sophie Sullivan reached out, pulling his arrogant face back. "Lucifer, speak up now!"
On the sofa across, Thomas Shannon’s handsome face darkened. Seeing Sophie Sullivan behave so intimately with Lucifer, her affectionate gestures fanned his fury.
Thomas Shannon’s displeasure, however, seemed to amuse Lucifer. He looked down at Sophie Sullivan. "Your maternal grandfather and mother both have the surname Sullivan. That year, your grandmother said you should be given a name from Country A. The Hibiscus is the national flower of Country A. Your grandmother hoped you would be liked by everyone, like the Hibiscus, so she named you Sophie Sullivan, with the nickname Fennie."
The fact that Lucifer even knew this dispelled the last lingering doubt Sophie Sullivan had about him.
Fennie...
She silently repeated her name in her heart. It was laden with her grandmother’s love.
The thought that her grandparents and parents were no longer with her made Sophie Sullivan’s eyes sting.
"Cecilia Branford, don’t be sad." Lucifer could always understand her emotions instantly, whether sorrow or joy.
He raised his hand and dotingly stroked her head. "You still have me."
Thomas Shannon could bear it no longer. He suddenly stood up, took a few large strides to Sophie Sullivan, grabbed her hand, and pulled her up. "You should go rest first."
Sophie Sullivan was taken aback. She saw the twin flames of anger flickering in the depths of his eyes and understood he was furious.
Should she go back to her bedroom and rest now, or stay here?
Worried that Thomas Shannon might do something to Lucifer, Sophie Sullivan pursed the corner of her mouth. "It’s getting late. You should go to rest as well."
"I know what I’m doing," Thomas Shannon said, his gaze shifting to Lucifer. "We need to talk."
"That’s exactly what I was thinking," Lucifer said, leisurely standing up and taking Sophie Sullivan from Thomas Shannon’s grasp.
"Cecilia Branford, you go rest first. No matter what noise you hear later, don’t come out, okay?"
Lucifer’s words deeply alarmed Sophie Sullivan. Were they... going to have a fight to the death?
After thinking it through, Sophie Sullivan decided she couldn’t let these two dangerous individuals stay together.
"Since it’s already late, all of you should go rest. If there’s something to say, we can talk about it tomorrow." Sophie Sullivan pointed to the other two bedrooms inside the suite. "The bedrooms are there. Go get some rest."
With that, her expression turned cold, and though her voice remained soft, it now carried a touch of Ryan Lane. "I don’t want any one of you to start trouble."
Leaving those words behind, she turned and returned to her bedroom.
"Cecilia Branford, good night," Lucifer’s laughter-tinged voice sounded from behind her.
Without turning her head, Sophie Sullivan replied, "Good night, Lucifer."
THUD!
The bedroom door shut and was locked.
Lucifer chuckled and glanced at Thomas Shannon. "Whatever you have to say, let’s discuss it tomorrow."
He took a step and entered his bedroom.
Thomas Shannon’s gaze remained fixed on Sophie Sullivan’s bedroom door. A surge of anger rose in his chest, only to be forcibly suppressed.
The suppressed anger made his handsome face turn increasingly grim.
Damn you, Sophie Sullivan!
Did she think she had found support just because Lucifer appeared?
How naive!
Turning, Thomas Shannon also went back to his bedroom. Standing in the center of the room, he took out his mobile phone and called Charlie River.
