Pampered By My Fake Boyfriend's Brother-Chapter 8: The Minor Situation
Chapter 8 - 8: The Minor Situation
"Ding..."
The elevator reached the first floor, and Su Yifeng and An Yin walked out.
For some reason, An Yin felt a chill in the air but couldn't think about it much as they had already reached the hospital entrance.
Outside, the sky was getting darker. A bright crescent moon was veiled by a cloud, appearing and disappearing mysteriously.
"Senior."
At An Yin's call, the two stepped back into a corner, standing still.
"Is something wrong?"
After being together for several days, Su Yifeng had somewhat understood her personality—simple-minded and unable to hide things.
The way she hesitated to speak made Su Yifeng realize she certainly had something to say to him.
"Thank you for everything during this time." An Yin slowly lifted her head, her bright eyes staring at him sincerely.
Her gaze was so clear, showing no emotions, not even a hint of shyness.
To say Su Yifeng wasn't a bit disappointed would be a lie. However, he knew that feelings can't be rushed; as long as she didn't reject him, he still had a chance.
"You've said thank you many times already, no need to emphasize it again." Su Yifeng looked at her. "We're friends, helping each other is what we're supposed to do, don't take it to heart."
Seeing his carefree attitude, the knots in An Yin's heart loosened considerably.
They're in the same school; maybe he just sees her as a normal friend!
Meanwhile, on the other side.
In the underground parking lot.
Assistant Lin noticed someone approaching, quickly got out of the car, and opened the door for him.
"Mr. Bao!"
Bao Shaojin's solid and stern face showed no change as he bent down to sit in the car. As it drove down the road, his deep voice spoke, "What's that kid Bao Cheng been up to lately?"
As soon as Bao Shaojin spoke, Assistant Lin immediately sat up straight.
After the question was asked, he hesitated for three seconds before answering, "He did his best to please the old lady a while back, who then gave him a sum of money. He used it to open a bar, which opens the day after tomorrow." Observing through the rearview mirror, he watched for Bao Shaojin's reaction.
In the back seat, Bao Shaojin had closed his eyes, his somber face revealing no emotion.
"Hmm." Bao Shaojin let out a cold chuckle.
Assistant Lin couldn't quite grasp what this meant.
It's the first time Mr. Bao has voluntarily shown concern about this cousin.
Normally, even when Bao Cheng actively sought him out, Mr. Bao wouldn't pay him any attention. What was different today?
Strange...
Too strange...
These thoughts Assistant Lin only dared to think silently, not daring to voice them.
Mr. Bao despises chatterboxes. If company executives spoke a few more words than necessary in their reports, his sharp gaze would shut them right up.

The rain was pouring down steadily.
The verdant camphor trees at T University swayed in the wind, their leaves spiraling in the air before landing, quickly covering the ground in a thin layer that gave it a somewhat chaotic beauty from afar.
After class, students continuously ran toward the dormitories.
Most didn't have the habit of carrying umbrellas, so they dashed into the rain, unfazed by the downpour.
In a corner, Jiang Keke was on her phone, her lips curled up with laughter, occasionally giggling sweetly to the other end of the line.
An Yin stood quietly beside her, also holding a phone, and only relaxed after receiving a message from An Mama.
Just then, Jiang Keke hung up the phone, turning around to her best friend with a skip and a jump, "Yinyin, my boyfriend's birthday is tonight, and he's invited us to his birthday party."
It's Bao Cheng's birthday.
Seeing how excited she was, An Yin was happy for her, but she really had no desire to join. After some hesitation, she declined, "Keke, I've got something to do, so I won't be going."
Actually, An Yin wanted to return to the dormitory to call her mom.
Since An Mama was discharged from the hospital, she had returned to school and attended classes, yet she insisted on video chatting with her mom daily, just in case An Mama felt unwell and kept silent about it.
An Mama was helpless against her daughter's insistence.
"What could you possibly have to do?" Jiang Keke felt let down by her friend's refusal and coaxed her, "Come with me, I'm so bored alone."
With Jiang Keke's disappointment visible, An Yin felt uncomfortable as well.
"Yinyin, just stay with me for a while, okay? If you want to leave, just say the word and we'll go immediately." Jiang Keke proclaimed heroically.
Her words made An Yin laugh.
"Alright," An Yin murmured.
"Yay... Yinyin, you're the best," Jiang Keke smiled, her eyes becoming crescent moons.
She always knew Yinyin was soft-hearted.
"Let's go. Bao Cheng is waiting for us at the school gate." Jiang Keke dragged An Yin out into the rain energetically.

"Ah..." Before An Yin was ready, Jiang Keke pulled her into the rain.
The rain was too heavy, and the two tried to run under the trees.
At the school gate, Jiang Keke dashed to a red car parked by the roadside.
The color of the car was quite flashy.
Many students turned to look at them, prompting An Yin to lower her head and get into the backseat with Jiang Keke.
Bao Cheng casually rested one hand on the steering wheel, looking at them and bursting into laughter.
"You two... hahaha... too funny! You're like drenched... " He didn't dare finish with "chickens."
He didn't want to break up on his birthday.
Bao Cheng laughed without restraint, tears almost forming at the corners of his eyes from laughter.
Jiang Keke pouted displeasedly, "How can you laugh?" As she spoke, she started using paper towels to wipe the water off her body.
Jiang Keke was genuinely upset.
As her boyfriend, to laugh when seeing her drenched was unacceptable! Was he even human?
Bao Cheng's striking looks made him popular with girls, attracting a constant stream of admirers, but everyone knew he didn't stay warm-hearted towards any girl for long.
Seeing his girlfriend angry, Bao Cheng stopped laughing and appeased, "Alright, my bad. I'll make it up to you."
Then, the car sped down the road.
Jiang Keke was too busy drying herself and didn't catch his meaning, nor did she have the mind to confront him now.
After getting in the car, An Yin quietly wiped herself, trying to minimize her presence.
Her thin, light white jacket was wet and clung uncomfortably to her body. It would probably take a while to dry, her deep blue tight jeans outlining her slender, straight legs were soaked from the knees down.
An Yin sat awkwardly, water dripping from her pant legs onto the car's blanket...
An Yin, filled with embarrassment, quickly bent over to wipe it with a tissue.
"Yinyin, what are you doing?" Jiang Keke noticed her friend's actions and asked curiously.
"The blanket's wet," An Yin confessed apologetically.
"So what, just throw it out later." Bao Cheng, who was driving, replied casually, as if it were the most normal thing in the world.
An Yin was at a loss for words.
She realized she had been narrow-minded.
