Pampered By My Fake Boyfriend's Brother-Chapter 531: Four Women
"Sure." An Yin took out her phone and was about to scan the other person’s QR code, when in the next second, a message popped up on Jiang Keke’s screen.
[President Li: Baby, see you at the usual place tonight!]
When the message appeared, Jiang Keke and An Yin’s eyes both naturally fell on the phone, and they both saw the text. Jiang Keke quickly pulled back her hand, but An Yin had already seen the message, so she simply made no attempt to hide it.
An Yin bowed her head slightly, added the other person on WeChat, and then blinked her bright eyes at Jiang Keke, "How have you been lately?" In fact, An Yin wanted to tell Jiang Keke that she had seen her with a man at a hotel last time, but afraid of embarrassing her, An Yin didn’t bring it up.
"Pretty good." In the bright hall, Jiang Keke’s gaze was deep and mysterious, and her jet-black eyelashes cast a layer of dreamy shadow under the light.
"That’s good." An Yin replied happily.
"And you?" Jiang Keke raised an eyebrow at An Yin, her eyes filled with inquiry.
An Yin thought about having obtained the contact of her "father," and wanted to share this news with Keke, but since there was no solid evidence, it was all just her speculation. Perhaps, she thought, it would be best to wait until it was confirmed to tell her friend.
Thinking of this, An Yin showed a tranquil, light smile on her face, "Managing both classes and part-time jobs well."
Jiang Keke gave An Yin a deep look, noting her hesitation, which naturally confirmed to Jiang Keke that An Yin was definitely hiding something. Since An Yin didn’t say anything, Jiang Keke didn’t press further.
Since her material life improved, An Yin had become almost dispensable to her. When she occasionally thought of her, only traces of jealousy and discontent remained.
"Don’t overwork yourself, take care of yourself." Jiang Keke effortlessly voiced her concern, her face full of sympathy.
Since mingling with those businessmen, Jiang Keke had learned to wear a facade in her speech and actions. Empty words had already become tools for her social interactions.
"Got it, I’ll take care of myself." An Yin smiled sweetly.
At this moment, a server pushed a delicate food cart over. When two plates of beautifully crafted desserts were placed on the table, along with two glasses of fresh juice, An Yin spoke after the server left.
"They must have made a mistake; I didn’t order this!" An Yin looked at the two plates of dessert before her. If she remembered correctly, this dessert was the restaurant’s specialty and quite expensive, costing over a thousand.
"Don’t make a fuss; I ordered it. Since I brought you here, you’ve got to taste their signature dish." Jiang Keke picked up a small fork first, a hint of pride in her eyes.
"But..."
"Come on, let’s just enjoy the meal. Don’t worry about the money." Jiang Keke said calmly, clearly not concerned about the cost.
An Yin’s eyes dropped slightly. Since the food was already ordered, she didn’t say anything further. She mimicked Jiang Keke and picked up the small fork, taking small bites. The moment the soft dessert melted in her mouth, her eyes lit up, full of amazement, "It’s really delicious!"
"The place I choose would never be wrong." Jiang Keke looked smug.
In the past, when they were inseparable, An Yin always overshadowed her. Now, seeing An Yin delighted by just one bite of dessert, Jiang Keke suddenly felt she was more sophisticated than An Yin.
In Jiang Keke’s eyes, someone satisfied with just a bite of dessert seemed quite petty.
An Yin, immersed in the joy of seeing her friend, naturally overlooked Jiang Keke’s series of changes.
Then An Yin casually chatted about some amusing stories from school, but Jiang Keke next to her wasn’t listening attentively; her attention was focused on replying to texts. Sometimes, when An Yin spoke a whole paragraph, Jiang Keke would only respond with a "hmm."
At that moment, An Yin saw two people approaching from a distance, and she felt a moment of panic inside.
When An Yin froze, Jiang Keke also noticed her distraction, "What’s wrong? Seen a ghost?" Jiang Keke asked, then turned her head to follow An Yin’s gaze.
Not far away, Huang Yiyi and Zeng Yun were approaching with laughter. When the server in front led them to the center, as they were about to take their seats, the sharp-eyed Huang Yiyi spotted a familiar figure.
"Ah Yun, I see a friend. I’ll go say hi first." Huang Yiyi’s hair was down, and she looked more voluptuous than before.
Zeng Yun was about to pull out a chair, and upon hearing Huang Yiyi, she nodded with a smile, "Go ahead." After speaking, Zeng Yun instinctively glanced around and soon also noticed a familiar person.
Just as Huang Yiyi was about to lift her foot, she heard Zeng Yun behind her say something with a strange tone, "Interesting!"
"Ah Yun, what did you say?" Huang Yiyi walked cautiously, always subconsciously placing her hands near her abdomen.
"Haha, it’s nothing. Just saw a... familiar person." Zeng Yun drew out the last two words with emphasis.
Huang Yiyi didn’t think much of it; meeting an acquaintance wasn’t particularly rare. She walked over to An Yin’s table with a smile, "An Yin, long time no see!"
"Yiyi." An Yin’s smile was somewhat forced.
Huang Yiyi actually knew the woman Bao Cheng had an affair with, and they seemed quite friendly?
An Yin quickly glanced at Jiang Keke, worried her friend might be uncomfortable. To her surprise, Jiang Keke maintained a smile throughout and even took the initiative to greet Huang Yiyi.
"Hello, I’m Jiang Keke, Yinyin’s friend."
"Huang Yiyi."
After introducing themselves to each other, Jiang Keke joked, "How about you invite your friend over, so we can all sit together and have a nice time?" Jiang Keke gestured towards Zeng Yun’s direction.
Huang Yiyi didn’t think much of it, "I hope we’re not disturbing you?"
"Of course not." Jiang Keke answered promptly, then looked at An Yin, "Yinyin, don’t you agree?"
An Yin was bewildered, a little unsure of Jiang Keke’s intentions, but she still nodded in agreement.
Seeing this, Huang Yiyi hurriedly brought Zeng Yun over. The four of them sat at the small square table, with Zeng Yun arriving last. She quietly listened to Huang Yiyi introducing her to everyone, her makeup-laden face smiling brightly.
An Yin had only a little of her dessert left, but she had completely lost the appetite to eat. Though she hid it well, her gaze constantly wandered between Zeng Yun and Jiang Keke, which didn’t escape Huang Yiyi’s notice, sensing an odd atmosphere.
However, apart from An Yin, everyone there was adept at dealing with men and reading between the lines. In no time, Huang Yiyi had already concluded that there must be some discord between Jiang Keke and Zeng Yun.
Though everyone was outwardly amiable.
