Seeing Ji Chichengβs reply with just the word βOkayβ, her heart ached.
It took her a while to compose herself, then she went downstairs, prepared to greet Charles. She needed to go out today, and also to discuss with him about sending Ji Mingyue away.
Passing by Ji Mingyueβs room again, she paused for a moment. Hearing no sound inside, she didnβt want to disturb her, to avoid upsetting her mood early in the morning.
It was already bright outside; the servants had cleaned the living room as if it had been washed with water. This was a rule in the Charles household: by seven oβclock in the morning, all cleaning must be finished.
She went downstairs but didnβt see Charles in the living room.
"Good morning, Miss Niannian."
When meeting a servant, they all greeted her. She caught one and asked, "Did Mr. Charles go back to his room?"
The servant replied, "Mr. Charles is running in the backyard."
"I see." Ji Anning nodded, thanked them, and then headed straight for the backyard.
The Charles familyβs backyard was three times the size of the front yard, divided into several areas: a golf course, a swimming pool, and a forbidden garden in the farthest corner.
What secret was hidden there?
"Mr. Charles, Mr. Charles, what happened to you?"
As Ji Anning gazed curiously in the direction of the forbidden garden, she suddenly heard someone calling for Charles anxiously.
She quickly looked towards the direction of the sound. On the golf course, Charles had collapsed to the ground, and the servant who followed him carrying his mobile phone and tea was crouching beside him, calling out in panic.

"Mr. Charles has fainted in the backyard, hurry and call the doctor."
Ji Anning forgot she was there to call for help for Charles. She only remembered when she heard the butler organizing the rescue urgently.
She turned to see a whole group of people rushing to the backyard, as anxiously as if the old emperor were on his death bed.
At that moment, Xiang Yiqingβs car pulled up to Ji Anning. He got out, saw the crowd heading to the backyard, and asked her curiously, "What happened?"
