Ji Chicheng finally had a reaction; he stopped the chewing motion in his mouth, lifted his eyelids, and looked at Ji Anning.

Ji Anning didn’t notice him and laughingly responded to Qi Helian, "If I return to the country, I’ll definitely count on Qi to get me a few more lucrative roles."

It was just a joke.

She hadn’t thought about returning, and if possible, she wanted never to come back. Abroad, she could start anew, living a simple life without worries.

Her words lacked sincerity.

Everyone present could tell, Qi Helian didn’t take it seriously, and naturally, neither did Ji Chicheng, as he withdrew his gaze.

When Ji Anning’s gaze shifted toward him, she caught a fleeting trace of a light smile in his eyes.

After taking a few steps, he turned his head and gave Ji Anning a meaningful look.

Ji Anning helplessly rolled her eyes; in truth, she didn’t want to go, either.

The two of them were thus half-persuaded and half-carried by Qi Helian and Xiang Yiqing to the resort by the sea-spanning bridge that led to another city, a newly built place with excellent, advanced facilities and environment.

With that, he turned and, hooking an arm around Xiang Yiqing, walked off first.

Ji Chicheng frowned as he watched them leave for a moment, then he drew the hand that had been in his pocket and took out the room key Qi Helian had given him.

He looked at it briefly.

Ji Anning’s voice rose by his ear, "Uncle, why don’t you share a room with them? I... I’ll take Fenfen to change clothes."

"... Whatever you want."

Ji Chicheng responded indifferently to Ji Anning, stepped forward, and walked past her, leaving behind a gust of cold air.

Ji Anning stuck out her tongue at his tall, cold figure, always getting angry over nothing, really.

She held Fenfen and hurried to catch up.

The oversized sea-view room, with its expansive vista, was exhilarating.

Ji Anning put Fenfen down and walked to the window, resting her hands on the glass, excitedly admiring the view outside, "It’s so beautiful."

It was merely an exclamation; she didn’t expect Ji Chicheng to respond.

"Fenfen, come and see, there’s even an amusement park..." Ji Anning spotted the children’s playground within the resort and turned to call Fenfen.

Her voice cut off abruptly before she finished speaking.
