Pampered by My Ex's Cousin-Chapter 336 - 330: Unexpected Heart Flutter (Part 9)
Rong Feifan frowned, looking aggrieved, "Wasn’t I at the reception all last night? Right under your eyes, what could I possibly have done?"
Qi Helian’s eyes firmly locked onto Rong Feifan’s face, not letting any tiny reaction or expression escape.
From this, he was observing which statement was true and which was false.
He said, "At the reception, someone saw you go to the resting area to look for Anning, even sitting and chatting with her."
Hearing this, Rong Feifan did not deny it and nodded, "Yes."
"Did you touch the drink that Anning had?" Qi Helian got straight to the point.
"Hey, hey, hey." Rong Feifan then understood Qi Helian’s implication and started to complain discontentedly, "Hey, my dear cousin, do you really think your dear cousin here is that kind of sleazy person?"
"I think you are."
Rong Feifan almost spit blood as he said, "I do like Anning, but I am an honourable man. The women who chase after me, Rong Feifan, could circle the earth, with countless of them throwing themselves at me just with a flick of my finger. Do I need to resort to such despicable methods?"
After his bragging bout, Qi Helian rolled his eyes at him three times in a row. Waiting for him to finish, he moved his thin lips, "Scram!"
That one word displayed his impatience, dislike, and disdain.
"..." Young Master Rong frowned, feeling rather heartbroken, "You don’t believe me?"
Qi Helian ignored him, reaching for his phone, dialing Ji Chicheng’s number. Rong Feifan felt depressed, circling around him, "I was with your new love, Wan Yueyue, all last night. You can ask her if you don’t believe me."
He kept defending himself nonstop. Qi Helian was thoroughly annoyed and, while the call had not yet connected, he coldly warned Rong Feifan, "Rong Feifan, I’ll give you three seconds to disappear from my sight, or you’ll regret it."
"Brother..."
Rong Feifan wanted to say more, but Qi Helian’s outgoing call connected. He started to speak on the phone, interrupting Rong Feifan’s words.
"Rong Feifan has the thief’s heart but not the thief’s guts."
The languid tone was filled with disdain and even a bit of contempt.
Feeling indignant, Young Master Rong gritted his teeth and nodded, "Yeah, you have the guts. Last night, someone saw you holding Anning."
At this, Qi Helian’s expression changed and, fearing Rong Feifan would continue to spout nonsense, he quickly covered the phone microphone and stared at Rong Feifan with a warning look.
Then he spoke again to Ji Chicheng on the phone, "Hold on a second, I have some family matters to deal with."
Rong Feifan realized the danger and took to his heels, "I’m off then, today’s flight to see your aunt."
As he reached the door, he waved at Qi Helian, greeted him, then pulled open the door, running faster than a rabbit.
Just then, a familiar female voice came through the phone receiver, a familiar address.
"Little uncle..."
Last night, Ji Anning had repeated it countless times by his ear. Now hearing it, Qi Helian inexplicably felt guilty.
After hesitating for a while, he finally cautiously spoke, "Ji Chicheng, An... how is your niece-in-law doing now?"
Still this address, he spoke it more smoothly, more... openly.
"Qi Helian, did your hand hold her last night?"
Ji Chicheng’s voice cooled down.
Qi Helian was startled, his gaze unintentionally drifting to his right hand resting on the armchair.
(I have to be at the driving school at 5:50 in the morning to prepare for the driving test section three; I’ll update one Chapter early this morning... Good night, and vote...)
