Pampered by My Ex's Cousin-Chapter 286 - 280: Knocking at Midnight (Part 4)
It wasn’t just Ji Ruoqian, Lin Yanqin, and Ji Xiangting who were frightened by his terrifying fury.
"Uncle!"
Ji Xiangting sensed the danger. She stood up, opened her mouth, ready to explain.
But Ji Chicheng didn’t give her a chance. He reached for the tablecloth, and with force, flung it toward Lin Yanqin and the other two women.
"Whoosh!"
Tableware, knives, and forks were sent flying into the air, some hitting the wall, all inevitably meeting their shattered fate.
Ji Anning was terrified too. She stared at Ji Chicheng in horror, her heart racing up to her throat, unsure of what he might do next.
She feared that in his rage, he would disregard everything and expose their relationship.
"Ah..."
Suddenly, a painful scream from Ji Ruoqian came from across the table.
Ji Anning quickly looked over and saw Ji Ruoqian, hands covering her face, crying as she burrowed into Lin Yanqin’s arms, "Mom, my face, my face hurts so much."
A fork had struck Ji Ruoqian’s face, causing her to cry out in pain, "My face, mom, my face hurts so much."
Lin Yanqin was terrified, quickly checking on Ji Ruoqian, "Let mom see it quickly."
She pulled away Ji Ruoqian’s hands and saw her face. Ji Anning was also shocked.
Ji Ruoqian’s right cheek was bleeding; she had covered it momentarily and her hand was also covered in blood.
Seeing this, Lin Yanqin became unsettled, she turned her furious gaze to Ji Chicheng, "Ji Chicheng, what are you doing? Ruoqian was just picking on Anning a bit, do you have to be so furious?"
Oh no! Was the aunt suspecting Uncle’s motives now?
Ji Anning clenched her napkin tightly with both hands, holding her breath nervously as she looked at Ji Chicheng and with her eyes, she pleaded with him not to do anything rash.
"But it’s affecting my mood to eat," Ji Chicheng replied coldly, his face steely as he turned away and his dark, menacing eyes swept past Ji Ruoqian.
Watching his tall silhouette walk away, Ji Anning finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Ji Ruoqian was still crying out in pain; she needed to get away quickly.
Ji Anning thought, and quickly stood up and ran out of the dining room. Once in the living room, she looked up just as Ji Chicheng was changing his shoes by the door.
She paused her steps, withdrew her gaze quickly, and turned towards the staircase.
’Ding’
Ji Anning had just entered her room when her mobile phone in her pocket suddenly beeped with a new message. She took it out and saw it was from Ji Chicheng; she opened it right away.
"Waiting for you in the car."
Seeing the message, Ji Anning walked to the window, looked down, and saw Ji Chicheng’s Bentley parked at the entrance of the yard.
After a glance, she withdrew her gaze and replied to Ji Chicheng, "Uncle, are you angry?"
He must have heard what Ji Ruoqian said. Could he be bothered, feeling upset?
Ji Chicheng answered off-topic, "Come out."
Ji Anning looked again at Ji Chicheng’s car, hesitated a moment, and replied, "Can you wait for me at the intersection?"
After sending the message, the Bentley at the entrance of the yard instantly disappeared from her view.
Ji Anning held her phone, waiting for a while, but received no reply from Ji Chicheng. She changed her clothes and sent him another message.
"Uncle, are you waiting for me at the intersection?" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
After the message was sent, Ji Chicheng still did not reply.
Was he angry?
She recalled a time when she took his car home. At the intersection, she asked him to stop the car, and he suddenly slammed on the brakes in a fit of anger, frightening her terribly.
