Pampered by My Ex's Cousin-Chapter 272 - 266 Sharing a Bed Together (Part 10)
As he spoke, he picked up his glass and raised it to Yang Danning, "If you insist on making me apologize, then I can satisfy you."
"I don’t want you to apologize to me, don’t you know? What I need isn’t your apology." Yang Danning was emotional, her eyes twinkling with tears.
Ji Chicheng shrugged without expression, "Sorry, I can only reluctantly apologize to you."
So proud, really no one else compares, only reluctantly apologizing... Even the apology is reluctant.
But the more he was like this, the more irresistible he became, Yang Danning thought, the women who loved Ji Chicheng were probably born masochists.
Yet she had pride in her bones too, so even though her tears were already swirling in her eyes, she still held her chin high, looking at Ji Chicheng without groveling, "If you’re going to apologize to me, one drink isn’t enough."
Suppressing her sobbing, her whole body trembling, she spoke coldly, grabbing an unopened bottle of red wine and instructing the waiter standing by, "Open it."
Anyone allowed in was definitely a guest; the waiter did not dare neglect his duty and came over to open the bottle.
Then Yang Danning picked up the bottle of wine, placed it heavily in front of Ji Chicheng, and, taking advantage of the slight height afforded by her standing over his seated position, looked down at him with lowered eyes, "Finish this bottle in one go, and I will forgive you."
"I can finish this bottle in one go," Ji Chicheng said calmly, glancing at the bottle of red wine, agreeing readily.
But his tone was clearly indicative of more to come.
He didn’t beat around the bush, and after observing Yang Danning’s reaction, he continued, "However, it’s not to gain your forgiveness, but rather to hope you won’t meddle in my life in the future, remember... no matter who I’m with."
Those words inflicted more than ten thousand points of damage on Yang Danning.
But her proud nature forced her to endure the pain, "Hah."
She let out a cold laugh, then disdainfully said, "Ji Chicheng, you really think too highly of yourself. Once this bottle is finished, you’ll go your way, and I’ll go mine. I, Yang Danning, will never interfere with you again."
"OK."
Ji Chicheng nodded, reached for the newly opened bottle, and began to pour it into his mouth, tilting his head back.
He chugged at a steady pace, not spilling a drop.
With each swallow, his adam’s apple moved sensually, faster and faster.
Lisa, standing by, watched with her mouth agape, shocked. She looked from Ji Chicheng to Yang Danning.
Yang Danning’s eyes filled with tears, ready to spill over at the slightest blink, her heart aching so much she couldn’t breathe. Her hands clenched into fists, tighter and tighter... her fingernails nearly digging into her flesh.
The most heartbreaking thing in the world must be going to all lengths to find evidence that you still hold a place in the heart of the one you love, only for that self-sought evidence to always prove the contrary.
Whether you die or live for him, he doesn’t love you, especially someone like Ji Chicheng, who wouldn’t even bother to give you a consoling or sweet word.
As the bottle of wine neared its end, Yang Danning’s pride ultimately couldn’t stand against Ji Chicheng’s pride and his cold-heartedness; she covered her mouth, but she still couldn’t hold back her crying.
It wasn’t until the last gulp of wine went down that Ji Chicheng put down the bottle, looked at Yang Danning, and said coldly and indifferently, "Miss Yang, the bottle is finished. Remember your pride and spine just now."
After saying this, he no longer spared Yang Danning another glance and stood up immediately. Having drunk too much and too fiercely, he stumbled forward upon rising, but luckily he steadied himself on the table in time.
