Overpowered Wizard-Chapter 274: B3: C64: Wonderful Morning Start
Zarian grunted awake at the sound of Bianca’s screaming. That typical noise of hers pierced through the room’s sound-dampening enchantments, heralding another sunrise and the start of a new day.
Rising slightly, Zarian propped himself on his elbow, the covers sliding down his naked body. Memories swirled like shadows and oils in his head, unclear and murky at first. He tried to focus with the help of free evil +7, but found some difficulty.
He was nice and cozy in a large bed under blankets and comforters made by Hannah’s superb crafting abilities. His room was the largest and most luxurious, with polished wood paneling, a big entertainment center with sunken tiered seating, and a bathhouse that was his alone.
Hannah had given him the deluxe treatment while ignoring Bianca’s nagging and complaints.
Their hotel-style dwelling, lodged near Hanger City, was a ritzy place. It was far better than anything on the mega continental wall overlooking the eastern parts of the Windy Strider Kingdom.
The ceiling-to-floor glass window view revealed to him all the island dwellings extending westward, draped under the shadow of the two-mile wall, as the rays of the rising suns beamed down upon the shaded islands like a slow-moving solar curtain.
The view was outstanding, maybe even on the verge of breathtaking. But the soft and petite form under the covers next to him, sharing her naked body heat with his naked body heat, was his biggest distraction.
While Bianca released another one of her typical and cheery screams from the kitchen dining area, Zarian put aside the dark thoughts about the Funnest Granpapa appearing last night.
He had no idea what troubles waited ahead. So, he took advantage of what he could get now.
Sensing movement, Ruvaria’s eyes fluttered open, long eyelashes batting, before she looked back while on her belly. Her supremely long gold-silver hair shifted to the side, flowing like a shimmering river over half her backside and legs.
As Zarian rolled toward her, Ruvaria smirked. She arched her spine and drew up her knees. Her toes clenched at the sheets as she shook her hips from side to side temptingly in Zarian’s direction.
Zarian paused, stifling a laugh while feeling very enticed, his lion tail thumping against the bed behind him. He dared not make any further noise, at least not verbally, or he might attract attention from the others.
Ruvaria had magicked the room to keep their activities undetected, thankfully, and she had more stats and buffs than all of them. So, even Bianca’s supernatural senses and Hannah’s analytical observations couldn’t overcome the raw stats Ruvaria accrued over ten thousand years.
Still, who knew how long that would last with how fast the Floridians grew. Sooner than later, they might catch up with Ruvaria and start seeing past her tricks.
But on this morning, Zarian enjoyed himself by entering Ruvaria once again, making her gasp and shiver and wriggle while wrapped in his arms. She was eager to be his, to be played with by him, and to please him for however long this enjoyment of theirs would last.
It should’ve been a quick and vigorous moment between them, but they kept persisting in their passions once they shifted over, with Zarian sitting on the edge of his bed. Ruvaria sat in his lap, riding him, her legs around his waist, her arms wrapped around his neck, her lips locked onto his with sensual and carnal delight.
His hands combed through her long hair and played with her sensitive ears, making her moan between kisses until it was time to separate. The separation didn’t last long while showering and bathing together, which led to them getting entangled again in the water.
Finally, they split apart for real and truly started their day.
After planting another kiss on his cheek, Ruvaria teleported back to her underground projects all the way near Ride-or-Die Village, and Zarian took his time to fix up his hair with his hands and a dash of Aura Mastery. Without Naomi being around, he dealt with his messy tangles himself.
His hair had grown considerably the past season. The curly strands surrounding his head made him look like a lion with a proud black mane.
As he looked himself over in the mirror, he saw flickering forms of a phantom shapeshifting behind his reflection. It was as if Para was setting up for a jump scare.
Chuckling, Zarian wagged his finger at the naughty phantom. She solidified her form and became a corporeal snake the size of a giant python coiled around his neck and torso. Her fork tongue flickered against his cheek, presenting him little reptilian kisses, before nuzzling her cool scaly face against the side of his.
Zarian spent a minute stroking his thumb on top of her head before deciding to pull up his notifications for his recent gains. Instead of going through the entire list, he focused on the most important ones that came with advancements, new and old.

“Bingo, bango, you get a mango,” Zarian said under his breath.
He’d wanted the +2 advancement ever since he combined the old Summon Wizard Hat +3 with High Rune Mindframe +3. He could tell Intense Arcana Hat +2 was growing fast as a higher quality skill that could outdo the two older skills, bridging the gap between aura abilities and high-speed thinking while sharing the benefits with his party mates.
Too bad acknowledging the advancement of one straightforward skill was the easy part. The next advancements were harder and carried distinct consequences depending on his decisions.
<Choose an option for your Advanced Grimoire of Black Magic +3: [1] Upgrade a spell. [2] Turn a skill into a spell. [3] Combine two spells into one better spell.>
<Choose an option for your Advanced Grimoire of the Voiding Exile +3: [1] Upgrade a spell. [2] Turn a skill into a spell. [3] Combine two spells into one better spell.>
He’d talked about this with Ruvaria last night when she showed up in his room after Hannah built the hotel-style dwelling.
Upgrading a spell was first because it was something a properly trained wizard should be able to do on their own. Turning skills into spells, especially Level 0 skills, would take some practice that he could figure out with Hannah’s help. That was still within his realm of capabilities.
Combining two distinct spells into one spell was far more difficult, and even Ruvaria would admit the task could sometimes take her years for one mere combination. He should be able to cut down the time it would take with his advancing free evil and studious capabilities. But that would require getting help from the Star System every chance he could get.
Thus, he should focus on combining spells through the System and learn to add Level 0 skills on his own with Hannah’s assistance.
Apparently, Hannah could do something with her aura that even Zarian hadn’t figured out yet, purely because of their diverging abilities that Ruvaria had noted from a distance. Ruvaria hadn’t revealed what Hannah could do that was special, but Zarian figured he could merely ask Hannah once they jammed out as a pair of nerds.
With all of that in mind, Zarian decided on what spells to combine. He took a large quality step forward as a wizard of the black, evil, and nefarious arts. He did so one by one, summoning the grimoires, scanning every change with his observational abilities, Para doing the same with him.
First, he chose a pair of spells from the metallic Voidling. He watched their nearly nonsensical eldritch runes, text, and symbols slide over the flipping and clinking pages as they rearranged for him.
<You’ve chosen Void Waltz (Legendary) and Minor Void Portal (Legendary) to combine into one spell for the Advanced Grimoire of the Voidling Exile +3! Please wait as two spells become one greater spell!>
<Your Advanced Grimoire of the Voidling Exile +3 gained a new spell!>
Then he switched over to the thick and ratty body of Black. He watched as twisted and felled magic text and symbols waded through the flipping pages. The spells of black magic merged into a distinctly new spell that was bigger than the sum of its parts.
<You’ve chosen Black Fire (Rare) and Life Blood Vent (Epic) to combine into one spell for the Advanced Grimoire of Black Magic +3! Please wait as two spells become one greater spell!>
<Your Advanced Grimoire of Black Magic +3 gained a new spell!>
Checking the descriptions of the new spells, the results had Zarian’s heart thumping.
He hadn’t thought about this before, but the spell combiners imprinted the knowledge into his mind automatically. That wasn’t the case when turning skills into spells, which made the spell combining aspect more attractive. Learning these new spells from scratch would’ve taken a lot of time and effort in Zarian and Para’s already stacked schedule.
<Void Parade (Mythical): Step, dance, march, or throw a parade for yourself and others. The void will celebrate with you, easing access to the void for yourself, friends, enemies, the surrounding area, and objects. Thus, you can maneuver quickly in and out of the void, or bring what should remain exiled into a systemized universe. Beware of the aura costs, it grows extremely high based on complexity. Scales with Wonder.>
“Interesting,” Para commented. “This spell works more like a two-way lane now. We can summon creatures or artefacts from the void. There are things out there that aren’t integrated and might become so. Extraordinary. Flexible. Powerful.”
“Between my Intense Arcana Hat +2, my Aura Transcendence, and Hannah’s Aura Generator, the cost is a nonissue, too. So, yeah, that’s just another overpowered check mark,” Zarian said before checking the next one.
<Blazing Blood Blast (Legendary): Sacrifice blood, from yourself or someone else. Then conjure a concentrated orb of intense blood magic that would go off like a firebomb after a brief delay. All enemies caught within the blazing blast would have their life energy lit on fire. When you or your allies touch the flames, you will suffer no harm to yourselves and can gain extra life energy from the burning enemies. Each firebomb has a minor cooldown between uses and delivers no direct damage to flesh or vitality. The effects of the blood flames are much stronger on bleeding enemies. Scales with Wonder and Mysticism.>
“Unfortunately, we lose out on the vitality burn from the original Black Fire,” Para commented. “However, this spell alone can ignore vital energy and toughness by going straight for life energy.”
A creature’s vital energy, for health or stamina, was based on the quality of their levels and if they’d faced enough adversity. Fighters had more vitality than mages or archers because the typical fighter would endure more rigors facing monsters up front.
Zarian was tougher than most adventurers because of the extreme rigors he’d faced as a very unusual and overpowered wizard. He did, however, lack in the Strength stat, which dealt with toughness, brawn, hitting power, and other Strength-based attributes. Most monsters had a stockpile of Strength, which made them naturally tough.
An old and powerful monster with high vital energy and high Strength would usually spell trouble for most adventurers.
Obviously, Zarian and his friends weren’t like most adventurers. They had plenty of ways of bursting down tough monsters with high vitality and high Strength.
But losing the power afforded by the old Black Fire felt weird.
He remembered how he fought a dangerous gnoll monk and had to learn Black Fire under duress while losing some of his first skeletons.
Zarian sighed. “I think we’ll be okay without having to burn vitality. We have a powerful party, especially with how Bianca can hit like a supernova. I’ve been mostly using Black Fire to put down people I don’t want to kill. But I could do that with Aura Mastery.”
“You can also negate the cooldown and lack of damage from Blazing Blood Blast with Aura Mastery and make it even more devastating,” Para said. “Or it could be more suitable for me to cast, since I have a tendency to want the flesh preserved for consumption.”
Zarian nodded.
Overall, the spells turned out powerful and versatile. He gained a lot from Void Parade, which was nothing but a plus. He’d lost some with Blazing Blood Blast, but he could make up for that with his other abilities.
With his current advancements and gains out of the way, his excitement grew for breakfast and a nerdy jam session with Hannah.
It seemed like Zarian was having a wonderful morning start even with the Funnest Granpapa showing up cryptically last night.
