Chapter 388: Chapter 388: Solution POV

Solution

The graveyard was silent, save for the distant hum of insects in the night air. Solution Epsilon stood among the scattered corpses of Khajiit’s minions, her gloved hands slowly lowering after casting her spell. The lingering smell of burnt flesh and ozone filled the air, a testament to the power of her magic.

Bright flashes of blue had illuminated the area like a raging thunderstorm, and in that moment, the necromancer’s forces had been wiped out in a single, decisive strike.

Except for one.

Khajiit Dale Badantel stood amidst the fallen bodies, wisps of smoke curling from his singed robes. His breathing was uneven, his face marred by faint burn marks—proof that he had endured the blast rather than emerging unscathed.

Solution tilted her head slightly, a flicker of intrigue crossing her otherwise impassive expression.

"Really... why didn’t you fall like the other inferior lifeforms?" Her voice carried no real curiosity, only mild disappointment.

Khajiit gritted his teeth, his skeletal fingers tightening around the staff he carried.

Solution’s sharp eyes scanned him from head to toe. "Could it be that you cast Energy Immunity—Electricity?" she mused.

It would explain how he was still standing. And yet, the burns on his face indicated otherwise. If he had cast Energy Immunity, he wouldn’t have suffered even minor injuries.

Solution’s lips curled into a small smile. "No... it was only protection energy—electricity, wasn’t it?"

Khajiit scowled.

"You aren’t just a regular idiot but an idiot who can cast third-tier spells, aren’t you?"

Khajiit’s rage flared at the insult. "An idiot?! An inferior lifeform like you dares call me an idiot?!"

Solution’s gaze remained impassive. She had always been indifferent to the anger of lesser beings.

However, her instincts warned her that this exchange of words had lasted long enough.

Khajiit’s body trembled slightly, and not from fear. The man was chanting something under his breath, his fingers moving rapidly in precise gestures.

Solution’s eyes narrowed. She wasn’t a dedicated magic caster, but she was capable of using a few spells, and she recognized the incantation for what it was—an advanced summoning ritual.

Her fingers twitched, readying herself.

Then, the ground trembled.

An eerie, bone-chilling wind swept through the graveyard, carrying with it the stench of decay.

Solution watched as Khajiit’s magic reached its climax. The earth before him split apart, revealing a gaping hole of blackened soil. From its depths, a massive skeletal form began to rise.

A long, bony tail slithered out first, followed by a ribcage large enough to engulf an entire carriage. Its skull emerged last, empty eye sockets glowing with an eerie, purple light.

A skeletal dragon.

The undead beast’s movements were stiff at first, as if adjusting to its new existence, but within moments, it turned its hollow gaze toward Solution.

Khajiit let out a triumphant laugh. "Do you see, you wretched insect?! This is the power of true necromancy! A skeletal dragon, an undead beast that defies natural law!"

Solution did not respond. She merely observed, her golden eyes following the creature’s every movement.

Khajiit sneered. "Heh. What’s wrong? Have you finally realized the gap between us? Against a creature like this, what can you possibly—"

Solution moved.

In an instant, she was gone from where she had been standing.

Her body blurred forward, effortlessly closing the distance.

Khajiit barely had time to react before she was upon him. His mind struggled to process how she had covered such a distance in an instant, but he had no time to dwell on it.

Solution’s hand shot out.

Khajiit jerked back, barely avoiding her grasp. He clicked his tongue in irritation—he had underestimated her speed.

The skeletal dragon roared, its massive body shifting as it prepared to intervene. Its maw opened wide, a foul, purple mist gathering within.

Solution turned her attention toward the beast. She had seen this attack before—Dragon Breath: Miasma. A lethal, necrotic mist that could corrode the flesh of the living.

She acted before it could be released.

"Greater Teleportation."

With a flicker, she vanished from sight, reappearing several meters away just as the dragon exhaled its deadly breath. The air was filled with the scent of rot and decay, the gravestones it touched turning black and crumbling to dust.

Khajiit scowled. "Tch! So you can use magic."

Solution didn’t respond. She merely flexed her fingers, the fabric of her gloves stretching against her unnatural strength.

This was getting tedious. She had no particular love for combat, but she did enjoy toying with her prey since it was a task her lord gave her; she preferred efficiency.

And efficiency meant ending this quickly.

Khajiit saw her shift her stance and immediately barked a command. "Kill her!"

The skeletal dragon lunged, its massive claws tearing through the air.

Solution didn’t move.

Then, just as the claws reached her, she acted.

"Twin Maximize Magic—Acid Spray."

Twin jets of corrosive liquid erupted from her outstretched palms, striking the dragon’s ribcage with pinpoint accuracy.

The reaction was immediate.

A sickening hiss filled the air as the acid ate through the enchanted bone. The skeletal dragon let out a hollow, soundless wail, its massive form shuddering violently as its body rapidly disintegrated.

"-You, who are you? A mithril... no, an orichalcum-ranked adventurer!? There shouldn’t be anyone like that in this city."
