Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Not Knowing What’s Good for You

She’s rebelled to this extent, afraid of a few more charges?

After all, if I’m going to die, it’s tomorrow’s problem.

Instead of backing down, why not go a bit further?

Julian Ford really didn’t expect Scarlett Shaw to go this far, as if she was reaching for the sky.

She blocked him, not letting him leave. Julian’s eyes, which had regained some clarity, were once again tinted with desire. Scarlett mischievously sat down on his lap, saying with a hint of revenge:

"You used to treat me like this too. I’m just giving you a taste of your own medicine."

Desire was obvious in Julian’s eyes, but his words were calm: "Is this revenge enough?"

Scarlett: "Not enough."

Julian sneered, "You can continue."

Of course, the consequence of continuing is on her.

He was the one tied up, it was he who couldn’t find relief, yet she was the one feeling unsettled inside.

Scarlett pursed her lips, gripping his shoulders tightly, "Julian, you’re ungrateful."

She hated his indifferent demeanor.

"Let me correct you."

Julian gazed at her, his expression cold like an ice blade, as if it would pierce her heart in the next second.

"Scarlett, your affection is not that important, it won’t change my attitude towards you."

The precarious ice blade finally landed on her heart, blood seeping out, the pain spreading. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

Scarlett forced herself to endure the pain, yet she was smiling nonchalantly, "Fine, then stay away from me in the future, alright?"

Julian: "You don’t have the leverage to negotiate with me."

Scarlett: "Julian, are you seriously messed up, thinking playing with people’s feelings is fun?"

Julian looked at her coolly, "Catching feelings is your problem, you might as well demand something else from me."

"Can I just ask you to disappear as far as possible?"

Scarlett’s fierce posture gradually diminished under Julian’s calm demeanor.

At that moment, the tie came loose.

Julian directly pulled her down, pressing her under him, taking control once again.

Scarlett sank into the sofa, startled, "When did you...?"

Julian: "Since you learned the knot-tying from me, you should’ve known I could undo it."

It’s just a matter of time.

Scarlett frowned, "I’ve tried, it takes at least half an hour."

"That’s you."

Julian easily pinned her down.

Scarlett glanced at the clock on the wall, it hadn’t even been ten minutes, she felt frustrated, muttering, "Do you practice untying ropes at home every day or what."

Julian’s movements paused, a shallow pain flashed in his eyes.

Scarlett’s attention was on his wrists, so she didn’t notice the change in his emotions. However, looking at his slightly reddened wrists, she suddenly thought of something and reached out, her fingers touching the inside of Julian’s wrist.

The faint scar was still there.

Scarlett had always been curious, normally, even if one accidentally got injured, it’s rare to hurt the inside of the wrist.

Unless it was intentional, or self-inflicted harm.

Thinking of these possibilities, Scarlett’s heart uncontrollably dropped.

But rationality warned her not to overthink.

At the same time, Julian withdrew his hand, pulling away from her, saying in a very distant manner:

"If you don’t want to continue, then leave immediately."

Scarlett was momentarily stunned.

Julian’s physical reaction hadn’t completely faded, but now the desire in his eyes was completely gone. He seemed indifferent, with no trace of being driven by desire.

She gazed deeply into the man’s eyes.

Julian’s eyes were as dark as ink, unreadable.

The small, inexplicable hope in Scarlett’s heart dimmed, without any reluctance, she turned and left.

As the door opened, cold wind rushed in.

Both felt the cold, but neither made a move to seek warmth from the other.

In the room, Julian walked into the bathroom, cold water cascading over him, icy through his bones.

After showering, he saw a missed call from Josiah on the phone on the table, and he returned the call.

"Julian, it’s been almost half a year with your illness, why are you still dragging it out? What are you thinking?"

Josiah’s voice was slightly impatient, tinged with confusion.

Julian lowered his eyes, his gaze sweeping over a women’s handbag left by Scarlett.

The clasp was open, revealing a faint pink edge. Julian reached out, finding a cat-shaped hand warmer inside.

"I like you."

The clear, clean female voice inappropriately echoed in his mind, her apricot eyes misted with anger and a reluctant, charming sincerity.

Julian massaged his temples, feeling a restless agitation and an unknown emotion flickering.

Josiah: "Julian?"

"I’ll go for a recheck after returning to the country," Julian’s voice was cold and indifferent.

Josiah sighed in relief, "Good thing you’ve come around. I almost thought you’d let it be. Don’t be too pessimistic, with modern medicine, there’s still biopsy after surgery..."

Before he finished, Julian already hung up.

Zoe Sutton, just out of her bedroom, noticed Josiah’s furrowed brows and seemingly heavy mood and asked, "Brother, bad mood?"

Josiah turned, his frown easing, and smiled, "It’s nothing."

Zoe: "What’s with Scarlett Shaw by Julian’s side? Brother, hasn’t Julian been engaged to The Walsh Group? With his character, how could he still have ambiguous relations with another woman?"

"My dear sister, you don’t live in the Pacific Ocean, why are you so concerned about other people’s affairs?"

Josiah said.

"You said it yourself, Julian’s engaged, if his fiancée isn’t worried about it, why should you, a married woman, get involved so deeply?"

"I’m just uncomfortable, what’s so special about Scarlett that allows her to stay beside Julian?"

Anger flashed in Zoe’s eyes, her long, beautiful eyes narrowing, exuding danger.

"I told Aunt Pierce that Julian was keeping a woman outside, but now Scarlett is still entangled with Julian, that woman is surely not simple."

Hearing this, Josiah’s expression changed, "You’re still talking to Aunt Pierce about Julian’s matters, have you forgotten why you two broke up before?"

Zoe bit her lip, "Was that really a breakup? He showed no interest in me at all, my relationship felt like widowhood!"

"I told you long ago, he’s just like that, won’t warm up to anyone, suited to die alone. You didn’t listen and tried to get closer through Aunt Pierce, with that step, you and Julian are impossible!"
