Out of Control: Into Your Everything-Chapter 87: Come With Me
Scarlett Shaw’s footsteps halted in an instant.
Julian Ford approached her, helmet in one hand.
Just as he had on the driveway, with such elegance and composure, calm and collected.
Amid the surrounding cheers and clamor, Scarlett’s legs seemed shackled in place, her eyes locked onto Julian, unable to look away.
Julian stopped in front of her, lowering his gaze to fix steadily on her.
Like a leopard catching its prey, he clutched her heart, always pulling her back into its depths just as she was about to escape.
Julian looked at her and, as always, calmly said, "Now, can you come with me?"
What Jasper Spencer saw upon getting out of the car was Julian holding Scarlett’s hand, fingers interlocked. The former looked just like a peacock spreading its tail for courtship, seemingly calm on the outside but undoubtedly pleased within.
As for the latter.
It wasn’t until Julian had Scarlett pinned in the corridor of the venue’s emergency exit, leaning in to kiss her, that she barely regained her senses.
She abruptly turned her head away, and Julian’s lips grazed her mouth corner, landing on her flushed earlobe.
He didn’t pause, his tongue lingering over the warm softness, his hand gripping her slender waist, kissing with deliberate focus.
Scarlett’s breathing tightened, and her heart raced.
She ought to push him away, yet her traitorous lips not only refused but responded with unusual eagerness.
Scarlett despaired.
She couldn’t help but think she might truly be doomed, bound to meet her end at Julian’s hands sooner or later.
"Julian Ford."
Scarlett’s eyes were tinged with red, whether from the kiss or the emotions stirring within, she wasn’t sure. Clutching tightly at his racing suit, she pleaded, "Don’t be like this, okay? Don’t make me the other woman."
Julian chuckled softly, deepening the kiss.
His fingertip grazed her chin’s skin, carrying a hint of seduction amidst his casual demeanor, "Scarlett, do you want to see who exactly is seducing whom right now?"
Her lips, reddened by his kisses, were as vivid as blood, her warm, soft face now tinged with an alluring charm, merely pleading weakly with him, as if immersed in a seductive, romantic spell.
Scarlett bit her lip, eyes blazing with anger, muttered softly, "Isn’t it all because of you."
Her reluctant and compliant demeanor was undeniably pleasing to Julian.
His fingers brushed over her palm, squeezing it, whispering, "Because of what?"
The heat on Scarlett’s face grew more intense.
She didn’t want to answer, yet Julian’s gaze held her captive, unyieldingly.
Scarlett burrowed her face into his neck, whispering, "Because everyone’s attention just now was on you."
In the collective group of "everyone," Scarlett, as a subset, naturally wasn’t an exception.
The secret feelings she harbored for him could only remain hidden in such ambiguous words, unspoken and unseen.
The tender kiss was abruptly interrupted by Jasper Spencer, utterly lacking in tact or more accurately, deliberately so.
"Julian Ford!"
In the empty hallway, Jasper’s deep voice boomed like a loudspeaker.
This shout turned Scarlett’s flushed face a touch pale, prompting her to push Julian away and attempt a quick escape, her wrist easily caught.
Julian pulled her close, clasping her fingers, calmly glancing down, "Why run."
As he finished speaking, Jasper had already reached them, his sharp brows furrowed, "Let her go."
Julian’s expression was indifferent, "What right do you have to stand here and say that to me."
Jasper sneered, "I’m indeed no one to Scarlett, but don’t forget, you’re already engaged. Your sudden passion now puts her in a perilous situation!"
"So what."
Julian looked impassively at Jasper.
"What does it have to do with you? Approaching her, are your intentions so noble?"
Frustration surged from Jasper’s heart, blurting out, "Scarlett already has a boyfriend. What kind of monster are you to wreck someone else’s relationship?"
Jasper intended to defend Scarlett, using the fictitious boyfriend as a pretext.
Yet Julian refused to buy it, not sparing Jasper a glance, directly leading Scarlett away by the hand.
Jasper Spencer: "Scarlett!"
Scarlett looked at him with slight helplessness, "Please don’t mention tonight’s events, okay?"
Jasper’s gaze fell on their tightly held hands, realizing that his righteous intervention was in vain.
He nodded, his expression complex.
Watching Julian and Scarlett’s receding figures, his phone vibrated twice in his pocket. Jasper retrieved it, glancing at the message.
His conflicted expression turned even graver.
Julian’s long strides led him on, his gaze lightly settling on Scarlett, he spoke with an unreadable tone, "You’re quite frank now, not even pretending you don’t want to be associated with me."
Scarlett glared at him, "Jasper isn’t wrong either. Julian, you’re an engaged man. Can’t you have some decency, some sense of integrity?"
Julian’s lips curled slightly, almost imperceptibly, "I’m shameless? But when I kissed you, you responded quite passionately." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Scarlett: "..."
Sometimes, these damn physiological reactions really are maddening.
Julian led her to the dressing room door and stopped, "Wait outside obediently for me."
Scarlett nodded, but what she thought was that as soon as he went in to change, she’d make a run for it.
Julian gave her harmless-looking face a lingering look, unfazed, spoke pointedly, "If you want to run, go ahead, if you have the skill to never see me again."
"..."
To possess such a skill to never see Julian again, Scarlett indeed didn’t have it.
Not to mention she still worked at Veridian, although just a minor role, there were inevitably opportunities to interact with Julian.
The thing she was most uncertain about now was her own beguiled, unworthy heart, which might secretly seek a glimpse of him again.
Scarlett was vexed.
Vexed to no end.
All because of this calamity, Julian, so high and mighty, yet shameless, Scarlett thought, if only she had the means, she’d pull him off his pedestal, let him live through hardships with her, to understand how humiliated she felt being toyed by him.
The so-called calamity, upon emerging from the dressing room, had changed out of the racing suit.
The black coat wrapped Julian, rendering him as deep and dark as ink, restoring his usual noble, elegant demeanor.
He walked over to Scarlett, her slender back against the wall, her eyes lowered, yet as she heard the footsteps, her almond eyes lifted slightly to glance at him.
She really did seem to be obediently waiting for him.
Julian’s eyebrows barely lifted, extending his hand to Scarlett, "Come with me."
