Out of Control: Into Your Everything-Chapter 64: Burning Bridges After Crossing the River
Scarlett Shaw’s eyelashes trembled as she lifted her gaze and fixed her eyes on him.
Julian Ford put on his coat and walked to the door, turning back to look at Scarlett, "Let’s go."
"Julian Ford."
Scarlett addressed him by his full name.
Round black eyes flashed with an emotion that made Julian quite displeased.
But soon, her words provided him the answer.
"I want to end my relationship with you."
Scarlett remained unfazed, speaking one sentence after another. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"I know, in your eyes, I’m nothing, and even words of thanks are beneath you."
"But during this time, with my grandmother’s treatment, although it was a deal, I’m still grateful that you spent a lot of resources and money on it."
"I won’t trouble you anymore."
Her words were clear and unmistakable, making the air thin and quiet at this very moment.
Julian looked at her nonchalantly, "Burn the bridge after crossing the river?"
Scarlett: "This relationship, you forcibly started it."
"So, you always slept with me unwillingly?" Julian’s lips lifted slightly, carrying a smile of unclear meaning.
Scarlett could tell that it was mockery.
Mocking her for saying unwillingly, yet at certain moments in bed, she begged him with reddened eyes.
"I just want to end the relationship."
Scarlett ignored Julian’s taunts and firmly stuck to her decision.
Julian tucked his hands into the pockets of his coat, walked slowly to her, and paused before her, raising his hand to stroke her slightly cool cheek.
He hardly cared about her sudden desire to end the relationship, thinking it’s just her feeling wronged and having a tantrum.
Julian had never been someone who could coax people; let alone coax them, he couldn’t even say nice words easily, and now, facing Scarlett, he calmly and coldly said:
"Since I forcibly started it, why do you think I’ll end it just because you want to?"
Scarlett pressed her lips tightly, "Then what do you want to end it."
"I said, after I get tired of playing."
Julian laughed softly.
His eyes remained cold.
"Scarlett, don’t challenge my bottom line."
Julian’s hand slipped down and hugged her waist, speaking cold words in an affectionate manner.
"Have you thought about it? If your grandmother knew that all the treatment she enjoyed was exchanged by her granddaughter sleeping with a man, would her heart be able to handle it?"
"Julian Ford, do you really have to threaten me this way?"
Scarlett’s eyes instantly turned red with blood.
"What’s the difference between you and Ryan Ford?"
"Don’t forget, it was you who proposed taking charge of your grandmother’s treatment, I just went along with it."
Julian lowered his head, kissing the tip of her nose.
His hand released her waist, taking hold of her hand.
"Be obedient, your grandmother will be fine."
"You will regret it." Scarlett’s voice trembled yet remained firm, "Everything has cause and effect, Julian Ford, one day, you’ll lose someone you love and be filled with unbearable pain."
"Is that so."
Julian led her into the elevator, appearing indifferent.
"Then you’ll be disappointed, I never will."
...
Shortly after Julian brought Scarlett back to Cloud Mansion, a young handsome man arrived, wearing gold-framed glasses, refined and elegant.
"She’s caught a cold, see if there’s anything else." Julian said concisely.
Josiah Sutton was surprised, "You called me here, I thought it was for you—"
Julian gave him a cold look.
Josiah swallowed his words, looking worried as he stepped towards Scarlett sitting on the sofa.
Scarlett was quite obedient at this point. Seeing Josiah, she nodded politely, "Hello."
Josiah smiled, "What’s your name?"
"Scarlett Shaw."
Josiah introduced himself and examined Scarlett while casually chatting, "Are you Julian’s new girlfriend?"
Scarlett: "No."
Josiah raised an eyebrow, "Hm?"
Scarlett hesitated for a moment, then said, "I’m a subordinate."
Josiah chuckled, "Julian wouldn’t casually bring a subordinate home, and even have me come just for a cold."
Scarlett calmly said, "Then you are asking knowingly."
Josiah was momentarily stunned.
He originally thought this was a docile little rabbit in front of him, not expecting her to have a retort after chatting.
Moreover, having a relationship with Julian Ford is a dream for many women, who wouldn’t want it to be grandly known to everyone, even without an official title, having experienced it would make anyone envious.
But not her, she was afraid of getting known.
Josiah’s eyes smiled deeply behind the glasses, "Quite an interesting young lady."
Scarlett looked at him without saying a word.
After the check-up, Josiah stood up and walked to Julian, saying the names of some medications.
"A chill from a cold, no need to worry. The pharmacy across from your house has these drugs."
He paused, hesitant to speak.
Julian gave Scarlett a brief glance, then retracted his gaze, saying, "I’ll send you out."
"Okay."
Josiah had driven over and parked the car in the basement.
Julian sat in the passenger seat, "Stop at the pharmacy."
Josiah: "What’s the deal with that girl?"
"Keeping her for fun."
"You never brought my sister home, and now you brought someone you’re keeping for fun, and you’re personally buying her medication?"
"What, standing up for Zoe Sutton?"
"Ha, my sister being away from you is a cause for celebration, now being with you won’t make her happy."
The car window rolled down, and Julian took out a cigarette and lit it.
Josiah frowned, "You need to smoke less now."
Julian looked at him lazily, "You’re quite talkative today."
Josiah wanted to say more, but Julian’s obvious refusal blocked him, forcing him to change the subject, "Zoe’s wedding at the end of the month, she said she invited you, are you going?"
"I promised her, so I naturally will."
"Going is fine, but no crashing the wedding."
Josiah joked.
Of course, he couldn’t really imagine Julian doing such a thing, after all, knowing him for years, Julian’s nature is pretty cold, even when with Zoe Sutton for a few years, he rarely showed emotional fluctuations.
Julian glanced at him, "You and her are definitely siblings, all the same, love filling in the blanks."
"Regarding the girl named Scarlett Shaw, release her early." Josiah suddenly said.
The cigarette between Julian’s fingers burned hot against his skin.
Josiah: "You’re a cold-blooded animal, won’t get emotional, my sister’s so proud yet she fell for you, that girl will lose her footing easily."
"She won’t." Julian put out the cigarette, "She had been with Ryan Ford, their feelings were deep, and she still has unfinished feelings for him."
"Since the feelings were deep, why break up then?"
Julian: "Ryan Ford’s behavior, don’t you know? He can’t stay in line."
Josiah remained silent for a while before saying, "Then what’s on your mind, your brother already been with this woman, and you also?"
Julian rested one hand on the window sill, his calm gaze falling afar.
The darkness within his eyes remained calm yet deep.
Josiah glanced at his profile hidden in shadows and fell silent.
When people are desperate at the end of the road, nothing is strange, especially those who are more self-disciplined, nearing the edge, become more extreme.
"Watch your mouth."
Before getting out of the car, Julian left these words.
After buying medicine from the pharmacy and returning to Cloud Mansion, Scarlett was already asleep on the sofa.
Due to the cold, her breathing was somewhat heavy, her sleep posture orderly, curled into a small ball, even with her own clothes on.
