Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Just for Fun

Julian Ford cast a cold glance at her.

Scarlett Shaw understood quickly, packed her things, and left Cloud Mansion.

She walked briskly, almost in a panic.

During the latter part with Julian, he was very forceful and lacked the tenderness he showed in previous times, leaving her unable to bear it. She hurriedly ran to the Cloud Mansion’s entrance before realizing she felt unwell.

Suddenly she remembered, Julian didn’t wear one this time.

She counted the days, and although it was a safe period, to avoid any accidents, she went to the pharmacy opposite Cloud Mansion to buy emergency contraception.

After paying, she stepped out of the pharmacy.

Beside the wall, Chloe Grant was on tiptoe, hooking Ryan Ford’s neck, her eyes moist as she kissed him.

Ryan’s peach blossom eyes were playful and flirtatious, his hand grasping Chloe’s slender waist as he bent down to respond.

Scarlett’s steps froze, retreating back into the pharmacy.

Cloud Mansion was situated away from the bustling city, quiet and sparsely populated, with few vehicles.

At this time, in the evening, Ryan and Chloe’s embracing figures intertwined under the rosy twilight.

Scarlett only felt it was dazzling and nauseating.

"Ryan."

Chloe was kissed until her legs weakened, clutching Ryan’s waist, her usually cool voice now soft and silky.

"My mom’s KTV partner suddenly withdrew his investment a few days ago, and it got shut down. Can you help and ease things a bit?"

Ryan’s fingers trailed down Chloe’s back, his eyes amused, "For your mom’s kind of business, being shut down is minor. As long as she isn’t locked up, your family should be secretly celebrating."

Chloe rubbed her leg against Ryan, "For the sake of my mom taking care of Scarlett Shaw for three years, she’s her real aunt, and I’m her sister. If our situation is bad, Scarlett will also be implicated."

Ryan sneered lightly, tilting Chloe’s chin with one hand, "If you really considered Scarlett your sister, would you sleep with me?"

Chloe lowered her eyes, biting her lip lightly.

She knew that from this angle, she most resembled Scarlett.

Sure enough, Ryan’s gaze shifted slightly, and he kissed her again without mentioning whether he would help her.

Chloe grew anxious.

She exerted all her charms to seduce Ryan.

Ryan stared at her amusedly, not a hint of affection in his eyes, merely scrutinizing for traces of someone else.

Chloe’s heart was already filled with jealousy, yet she continued to flatter.

Night fell.

Chloe knelt down.

Her hand paused at Ryan’s belt.

Ryan’s lips curled slightly, his peach blossom eyes playful, his smile tinged with sarcasm.

He felt some weariness, turning his head in an instant to meet Scarlett Shaw’s icy gaze.

Chloe’s fingers hadn’t yet pressed the belt buckle when Ryan suddenly shoved her away forcefully, sending her sprawling to the ground.

She raised her eyes, following Ryan’s line of sight.

Scarlett stood in the night, staring at them expressionlessly.

Chloe felt a surge of disgust, stood up, dusted off her dress, and hid behind Ryan silently, eyes showing fear as she clutched Ryan’s clothes.

"What are you hiding from?"

Scarlett glared at Chloe.

"You always regarded yourself highly. Now that you’ve come into the light, are you still afraid of me?"

Chloe’s face looked unpleasant.

Ryan and Scarlett had broken up, but he never promised her she would be his girlfriend.

Scarlett’s words were undoubtedly humiliating her.

Yet she couldn’t retort, and still had to watch Ryan’s demeanor, under which he would clearly not speak up for her.

Chloe clenched her fist, thinking for a couple of seconds, then suddenly smiled at Scarlett, "Sister, what a coincidence to meet you at Cloud Mansion. As far as I know, you don’t have any friends staying here, do you?"

Ryan’s brow instantly furrowed.

Stepping in front of Scarlett, he said word by word, "You appeared here last time too."

Ryan didn’t speak explicitly.

But the meaning in his eyes was crystal clear.

The man entangled with Scarlett must reside in Cloud Mansion.

"No wonder you suddenly broke up with me so decisively and cleanly, without any attachment. Turns out you found another path."

Ryan sneered, a chilling coldness in his smile.

"Indeed, being lowly is a kind of gene, capable of being passed down through generations."

Scarlett’s brow furrowed, a thought flashed in her mind, and she looked at Ryan with guarded detachment.

Ryan’s eyes flickered, he turned and coldly told Chloe, "Leave now."

Chloe pleaded, "About my mom’s issue."

Ryan irritably rubbed his forehead, "Wait for my news back home."

Only then did Chloe turn around and leave.

Ryan’s gaze returned to Scarlett, "Now, it’s time for us to settle scores. Tell me, who is the man you slept with?"

Scarlett hadn’t chosen to avoid Ryan earlier, already prepared to confront him.

She calmly replied, "If you have the ability, turn Cloud Mansion upside down."

Those words undeniably confirmed Ryan’s deduction.

Ryan’s rage surged, his large hand grasped her jaw violently, "Do you think I can’t do it?"

Scarlett seemed immune to the pain.

She gazed into Ryan’s eyes, her eyes lifeless.

"Is it fun?"

"You never liked me. Why pretend to be devoted?"

Ryan gritted his teeth, "Say that again."

Scarlett sneered.

"Am I wrong?"

"Ryan, I sincerely thank you for settling my grandma’s medical expenses back then. I admit I genuinely fell for you."

"But that doesn’t mean you can fool me like an idiot."

She paused, her gaze intense.

"You want to know who the man I slept with is? I can tell you, but first, you owe me the truth about your true motive for approaching and helping me back then."

To Ryan, several million was easily manageable.

But his money wasn’t airblown; he wouldn’t spend it on a mere acquaintance he hadn’t seen since a few encounters in his teens.

Before she liked him, she would selectively overlook many odd things.

Looking back now, she finally understood a lot.

"You don’t have the qualifications to negotiate with me."

Ryan’s brows tightened, the amusement on his face vanished.

His expression was incredibly cold and fierce.

"Then let’s wait and see."

She didn’t expect to immediately extract any truth from him.

But at least, Ryan’s reaction had indirectly confirmed her earlier suspicion.

Scarlett was about to leave, but Ryan’s gaze suddenly fixed on something behind her, his thin lips moved, and he said in a deep voice:

"Bro."

Scarlett’s back stiffened, she turned around.

Under the street lamps, Julian Ford was dressed in casual attire, his shirt unfastened several buttons at random, watching her and Ryan with indifference.

Scarlett: "President Ford."

Julian’s gaze lingered past her, resting on Ryan, his expression inscrutable.

Ryan’s expression deepened, seemingly concerned, he walked first toward Julian.

"Bro, mom and dad said you caught the flu recently. Are you feeling better?"

"There’s someone taking care of me, it’s no longer an issue."

Ryan paused, "You didn’t let me or mom and dad visit, but you agreed to someone getting close to take care of you?"

Julian cast a fleeting glance at Scarlett, his lips curled faintly without any emotion, "An interesting stray cat, occasionally brought home for amusement."
