Chapter 458: Chapter 436: She’s Not Someone to Mess With

Sienna Thornton finished speaking and noticed Simon Forrester was still staring blankly into space. She poked his chest with a smile. "Were you listening?"

Simon seized the opportunity to grab her hand, holding it against his chest. He laughed, "You studied law, so how are you so professional in business management as well?"

Sienna pointed to herself. "Am I professional?"

Simon nodded. "Technically, that’s Gavin’s area of expertise, but he didn’t say anything. Instead, you spoke with some foresight."

"As your subordinate, Gavin won’t speak unless asked. Showing off in front of the boss is something only foolish subordinates do. But I’m not your subordinate, so of course I’m brave enough to speak up!"

Simon leaned closer, pushing her back into the couch’s depths with a smile. "If you’re not my subordinate, then what are you to me?"

He intended to make her say, "I’m your wife," but she raised her chin with a regal air and declared, "I’m your master!"

As she spoke, without a hint of bashfulness, her fingertip caressed the pendant on Simon’s neck engraved with the word "恩" (grace), proudly saying, "See, I’ve got you tagged. You belong to me, the King!"

Saying this, her hand moved to his nape, pulling him in for a kiss.

He was caught between laughter and tears—truly becoming a loyal dog!

.

On Monday, as soon as Simon got to work, he immediately asked Gavin to investigate the various factions within the group.

The list was ready by midday.

Simon and Gavin spent the afternoon finalizing the members of The Executive Office.

The next day, The Executive Office was established, composed of deputies from all major departments, such as the VP of Bio-Tech who was displeased with Ryan Chase’s methods, and Nolan Kramer, who repeatedly attempted to kick out the Forresters’ Sales VP.

Simon held a meeting with them personally, explaining the reason for forming The Executive Office and clarifying everyone’s responsibilities. Previously suppressed and feeling discouraged due to comprehensive pressure, being personally chosen by the Chairman now left each person energized and determined to be forever loyal to Simon.

Upon the establishment of The Executive Office, Simon immediately divided the Finance Department, making the Audit Department independent. The Audit GM and Finance GM, Faye Lucas, held equal positions and powers, but since the Audit Department also had supervisory functions, its status was, in fact, slightly higher.

When the notice was posted, Faye was stunned.

Previously anxious about not being chosen for The Executive Office, realizing the separation of the Audit Department suggested Simon no longer trusted or intended to heavily rely on her.

She returned to her office and cried, calling Harrison Rowe, who after hearing everything, guessed it was Sienna’s doing and sighed helplessly. "I’ve told you, Director Thorne isn’t simple. The Forresters’ restructuring must be her idea. Stop crying and just do your work well."

He didn’t reassure Faye that her ’rice bowl’ was still secure because he foresaw her replacement would soon emerge.

Two years ago, Sienna, knowing nothing of the Forresters, managed to remove Bianca Fordham, who had been entrenched in the Forresters for over twenty years, within three months. Now, simply weeding out a batch of high-level workers within a week was rather sluggish.

Harrison believed that with Sienna as Simon’s strategist, managing the Forresters’ grand enterprise posed no issue to him. No wonder the Forrester elder always held Sienna in high regard. Garnering the respect of a market veteran who had weathered all of the nation’s economic reforms was a testament to Sienna’s exceptional prowess.

Therefore, Harrison advised his sister not to have ulterior motives for Simon, as Faye was no match for Sienna. See, she had hardly done anything yet and was already marginalized within the group.

With the Forrester issue resolved and the villa nearly set up, Melinda Linton’s health was robust, allowing Sienna to live with Quentin Thorne without concern.

On Friday night, she called Quentin, saying she could move in anytime as long as he was ready.

Quentin was so delighted he could hardly speak, repeatedly assuring her she could move in the next day.

Sienna hung up, feeling a bit melancholy without knowing why. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

While packing clothes in the walk-in closet, Simon cleaned up the kitchen and dining area before joining her, understanding immediately when he saw her packing.

He walked over, sat on the long soft bench behind her, pulled her onto his lap, and asked, "Are you moving to Thornton’s tomorrow?"

Sienna nodded, not in high spirits. "He said everything’s ready for me to move in tomorrow, and since it’s Saturday, he’ll be at home. It’s better this way than moving on a workday and having to face his wife alone."

"I’ll drive you there tomorrow."

"Okay."

Simon didn’t say more, quietly helping gather her toiletries in the bathroom. Wanting to assist with packing her cosmetics next, he saw her approach with her specialized bag, packing it herself.

The two squeezed together on a narrow makeup bench, very close.

Watching her pack various bottles and jars, Simon teased, "Your skin is great as it is, why use all this stuff?"

Sienna smiled distractedly, "Using them makes it even better! No one would refuse to be more beautiful and elegant!"

Simon agreed, suddenly recalling Mina Thorne’s face. Frowning, he asked, "Born of the same father, why are you so much more beautiful than Thornton’s daughter?"

Sienna brightened at this, admiring her face in the small mirror, left to right, with an ego that could burst.

"Just look at Thornton’s wife—short and unattractive. No wonder she had to resort to tricks to marry him back then."

Detecting her hostility, Simon chuckled. "Not exactly short and unattractive, as a lady of the house, she has some grace."

Sienna shot him an endearing glance through the mirror and scoffed, "Grace? That’s just something to make less attractive women feel better."

Simon merely smiled.

After a while, Sienna fell silent suddenly, putting down the mirror and focusing on packing her cosmetics.

Simon, pulling her into his arms, softly asked, "Why so quiet all of a sudden?"

Sienna sighed, turning to embrace his waist. Disheartened, she said, "Actually, I don’t want to live at Thornton’s. Just thinking about seeing his wife and daughter is irritating, it’ll feel like being in prison. They don’t seem easy to get along with."

Simon should have reassured her, "It’s okay, they just seem difficult," but he couldn’t say that untruth, as that mother and daughter were genuinely challenging.

He was contemplating how to prepare Sienna for this when she buzzed and asked, "Tell me about his wife and daughter? So I can be prepared."

He hesitated before answering, deliberating over his words, "I don’t know his daughter, she’s basically a stranger. But I’ve heard a bit about Aunt Grant from Gage Grant."
