Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike-Chapter 186 - 184: Net Worth
"What are you talking about? You seem so happy." Simon Forrester sat down next to Sienna Thornton, adding some red wine to her glass.
Sienna showed him some pictures on her phone: "Daniel said he wanted to break into Brimfield’s legal scene and has already consulted a famous feng shui master for a few company names. Look at this one. Isn’t it hilarious?"
Simon glanced at Daniel, raising an eyebrow slightly.
Daniel flashed a friendly smile: "The environment overseas is just average now, and there are more opportunities domestically, so everyone wants to come back and give it a shot."
His Mandarin was surprisingly good, though slightly amusing with its precise pronunciation.
Simon nodded, smiling slightly: "It’s the trend."
Daniel didn’t know much Chinese idioms, and even his Mandarin was learned painstakingly after meeting Sienna. A cute and puzzled expression flashed across his face, looking down at Sienna. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Sienna smiled and explained to him in Cantonese: "It’s about the returning trend you’re talking about. In the coming years, it will become a trend."
Her speech was moderate in speed, with a gentle tone, and her Cantonese, already soft and mellow, sounded comfortable, although her attitude was somewhat distant, unlike when she communicated with Simon, where she sometimes acted coy or spoiled.
Simon picked up a wine glass and took a small sip of red wine, the corners of his lips slightly curled up.
Meanwhile, on Daniel’s side, after hearing Sienna’s addition, he understood Simon’s meaning and raised his wine glass towards him: "Mr. Forrester, it’s nice to meet you today."
Simon clinked glasses with him: "Nice to meet you."

The gathering lasted until the restaurant was about to close.
Sienna and Simon went downstairs with their classmates, promising to visit Brimfield next time.
Daniel was the last to leave, giving Sienna a gentle hug, wishing her well before reluctantly getting into the car.
It wasn’t until the black Rolls-Royce disappeared at the street corner that Sienna pursed her lips, exhaled a long sigh, wrapped an arm around Simon’s waist, and walked back to the hotel lobby.
As the elevator door closed, noticing Simon hadn’t spoken for a while, she raised her blushing face and asked, "What’s wrong? Aren’t you happy?"
Simon lowered his head, seeing her eyes slightly glassy, seeming a bit drunk. He thought this was a perfect chance to probe her, so he asked, "What’s your relationship with Daniel?"
"We’re classmates."
Simon squinted his eyes, mimicking her tone to probe further: "Did you ever love him?"
Sienna laughed twice, stood upright like saluting, pulling three fingers on her right hand together and raising them, pretending to swear: "I, Sienna Thornton, swear to the heavens, I have never loved any man other than Simon Forrester!"
After saying so, she lifted her face and pouted her lips: "Alright, give me a kiss."
Simon smiled, grasped her slender arms with his hands, and lowered his head to kiss her.

On the morning of the seventh, Simon and Sienna returned to Brimfield.
After running around Azure Harbor for several days, back at the long-missed home, Sienna collapsed on the sofa exhausted, but only rested for a moment before quickly getting up to unpack.
The dressing table designed and customized for her by Simon had just been delivered. Made entirely from golden nanmu wood with a special polished finish and no lacquer or varnish, it could be used immediately after wiping clean, not harmful even when placed in the bedroom.
At the moment, Simon was in the room cleaning the dressing table, while Sienna was in the cloakroom organizing items brought back from Azure Harbor.
Most of the clothes, shoes, and bags bought in Azure Harbor were arranged to be shipped via logistics. Sienna only put two sets of outfits in her suitcase to last a few days.
She hung up the clean clothes, threw the dirty ones into the laundry basket, and finally categorized some miscellaneous small items.
When she went to the laundry room with the dirty basket, Simon was washing his hands on the balcony, and seeing her coming, he helped sort the dirty clothes into the washing machine with her.
Once done with the clothes, the two of them moved all the cosmetics and skincare products from the guest room to the bedroom.
"You tidy up first, I’ll go to the study to handle something." Simon said, kissing Sienna’s cheek before getting up to leave for the study.
Sienna slowly organized her cosmetics, both new and old, filling the dressing table to the brim.
The more she looked at the dressing table, the more satisfied she felt, as it was entirely designed based on her preferences and needs, considering all sorts of peculiar demands that a young woman who loves beauty might have.
For instance, the drawer under the countertop had a lipstick storage section, ten rows by ten columns, totaling a hundred small grids, just enough to hold most of her lipsticks and lip glosses; the drawer also contained various slots of different sizes to store creams, face masks, and other items; and at the very bottom, there was a cabinet for a small fridge, where a tiny single-layer fridge could store perfumes and some skincare products requiring refrigeration.
Sienna happily organized her cosmetics, vacuumed the bedroom clean with a dust cleaner, and then hummed a song on her way to the study to find Simon.
Standing at the desk, Simon was waiting for papers to slide out from the printer. Sienna went over, took a glance, and asked: "What are you printing?"
"The Forrester’s organizational structure and the legal department’s functions."
Sienna uttered an "Oh", toned down her expression with seriousness, and said: "Shall we go through it together after dinner?"
"Okay."
-
After having a simple dinner downstairs, Simon accompanied Sienna to wash their hair, and by the time both showered, it was nearly ten o’clock.
They sat at the long conference table in the study, each with several bound sets of materials beside them.
Sienna looked through them all in one go, exclaiming: "I always thought The Forresters only dealt with hotels, retail, and manufacturing. Didn’t expect they were involved in real estate and infrastructure as well."
"Yes," Simon flipped through the materials in his hands, "What you’re seeing now are all domestic businesses; our international operations mainly cover energy sectors like oil, nuclear power, and energy distribution and transmission."
Sienna nodded, flipping another page of her materials, quickly processing the information in her mind and turning it into language: "Let me guess the current situation. Your father mainly manages overseas operations, so your aunt wants to gain control over domestic operations through certain means. Looking at The Forresters (China)’s equity structure, your aunt’s shares are a bit lacking—most are still in your and your grandfather’s hands."
She looked up at Simon, raising an eyebrow slightly before returning to the materials in her hands: "Take a look at these assets, tsk tsk tsk, Mr. Forrester, you’re very wealthy."
Simon laughed heartily, tapping her forehead lightly: "You’re here to work, not to analyze my wealth."
Sienna rubbed her forehead, lifting her left hand where five fingers playfully wiggled—each adorned with a golden ring that shone softly in the light.
She looked at the materials, and scoffed lightly: "With all your wealth, the ring you gave me is less than ten thousand."
