Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike-Chapter 175 - 173: Small Conflict (4 Updates)
Simon Forrester came out after his shower, and it was already very late. Not seeing Sienna in the room, he picked up his phone and went looking for her.
Sienna Thornton was currently lying on a deck chair on the observation platform, staring blankly at the night sky outside.
A book rested on her lap, with a few pages turned.
Simon Forrester walked over and patted her leg.
She snapped back to reality, glanced up at him, and instinctively moved over to make room for him.
Seeing his hair still damp and a towel draped around his neck, she naturally took the towel and began to dry his hair.
The audio conference was still ongoing...
Jack Hawthorne was inside, furiously scolding the engineering team for delaying the project, and no one dared to make a sound.
Simon Forrester’s expression wasn’t any more pleasant, and although he didn’t speak, it was clear he had a look of wanting to curse.
Sienna obediently helped dry his hair and then took the towel to hang on the balcony.
When she returned to the living room, Simon Forrester was already lying on the deck chair, beckoning her.
She obediently walked over and settled into his embrace.
He held her, occasionally lowering his head to kiss her.
"Where’s the chief designer? Where’s the chief designer?" A sudden roar came from the phone.
Sienna was startled, let out a "hmm," and pushed Simon Forrester away.
Simon Forrester pursed his lips, looking unsatisfied.
He picked up the phone that was tossed aside and replied, not too happily, "Here."
Seeing he needed to work, Sienna got up, intending to go back to the room, but he wouldn’t let her leave, pulling her back into his arms. Occasionally responding to the other side of the call, he played with her fingers and hair.
The audio conference went past midnight without any sign of ending, and Sienna began to yawn, nestled in Simon Forrester’s arms, almost falling asleep.
In her drowsiness, she heard Simon Forrester, who rarely spoke, say with some annoyance into the phone, "Let’s continue tomorrow. It’s so late now; can’t people sleep?"
After he spoke, Jack Hawthorne reprimanded the engineering team again, finally ending the conference for the day.
Ending the meeting, Simon Forrester tossed the phone onto the sofa behind them and lowered his head to seek her lips.
"Were you discussing the project in The Northeast?" Sienna asked softly, nestled against his neck.
"Yes, there’s been a problem; mainly, the coordination between units is lacking." Simon Forrester chuckled, "I reckon I’ll age a few years by the time this project finishes."
Sienna also laughed, playfully nibbling on his chin, "Are you planning to go after young girls somewhere? What else are you afraid of getting old for?"
"I only want you," he smiled, "Have you missed me these days?"
She reached up to hook his neck, blushing under his gaze, "I’ve missed you a lot."
"It’s late; shall we go back to the room?"
"Okay."

Sienna felt sticky all over, so she took a quick shower and came out feeling refreshed.
After applying her skincare products, she lay back on the bed. Simon Forrester had already lifted the blanket, waiting for her.
She obediently snuggled into his embrace, her back against his chest. His arm encircled her, and his chin rested in the crook of her neck, his large hand idly playing with her small hand.
Noticing she didn’t have a band-aid on her hand, he lifted her injured hand, examining it under the warm yellow light, "It’s already scabbed over, but you still need to protect it; don’t keep getting it wet, okay?"
She softly responded, "Okay."
He tucked her small hand back into his warm large hand, holding her close.
They chatted leisurely, and he suddenly said, "Tomorrow is the eleventh; I have to leave for the old house around nine to watch the ten o’clock parade with my grandfather and spend the whole day there. Would you like to come with me?"
It was a bit sudden; she wasn’t mentally prepared, and she had been feeling a bit lost lately, so she gently replied, "Maybe next time, it’s not the right time yet."
He pursued, "The next parade is a year away, so do you mean you’ll come home with me next year on the eleventh?"
She dodged, "We’ll talk about it next year."
He was insistent, turning her to face him, "What do you mean we’ll talk about it next year?"
She avoided his gaze, not daring to look at him, and said quietly, "Who knows if we’ll still be together next year? It’s too early to make such a promise now; I don’t like making promises I might not be able to keep."
Simon Forrester: "..."
He changed his expression, released her, and resolutely said, "If next year is uncertain, then come this year!"
"Don’t push me; I’ve been feeling really troubled lately." She turned her back on him.
Seeing her like this, his previously firm demeanor immediately softened, and he reached out to pull her back into his arms, "What’s going on?"
She didn’t answer immediately, hesitating for a while before saying, "This kind of life makes me feel powerless, wasting time and life every day."
Being able to say this showed she was indeed quite lost.
These past few months, he had been by her side and deeply felt her struggle.
Though, during her period of uncertainty, he felt their time together was the sweetest and most enjoyable to his own lifestyle as a man, he couldn’t bear seeing her like this anymore.
He pulled her into his embrace, letting her hold him too, and kissed her forehead softly, "I won’t push you anymore; tomorrow I’ll drop you off at your mom’s and then head to the old house and pick you up in the evening."
"Okay."
"On the eighth, I’ll take you to start at the Forrester Group. There’s six days until then; is there anywhere you’d like to go?"
Sienna shook her head, "No, during National Day, everywhere is crowded and cramped."
"How about we go to Azure Harbor? Visit your alma mater and maybe buy some clothes or something. Didn’t you say your suits are too big since you’ve lost weight?"
Talking about going back to HKU piqued Sienna’s interest.
Mentioning shopping for clothes, she became even more interested.
"Okay! So we’ll leave on the second? Should I book the tickets?" she asked excitedly.
Simon Forrester’s worries finally eased, and he kissed her forehead, "No need, I’ll handle the tickets and hotel. Since I’ll be at the old house keeping the old man company tomorrow, I’ll take care of it then."
"Great!"

The next day, Sienna had originally set an alarm to wake up at eight, planning to eat breakfast, prepare briefly, and leave by nine.
However, after Simon Forrester woke up, he kept entangling with her for a while, and by the time they left, it was already half-past nine.
On the first day of the holiday, there were a lot of cars outside. Seeing that Simon Forrester was going to be late, Sienna simply had him drop her at the subway station, planning to take the subway.
As she got out of the car, they had a goodbye kiss in the car.
Sienna reminded him not to mention their relationship to his family for now and to bring it up later on.
Simon Forrester, not sure if he meant to tease her or if he genuinely thought so, only perfunctorily replied, "We’ll see how I feel."
Then the car drove off, leaving her feeling restless all day long.
