Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike-Chapter 170 - 168: Candy Sheridan’s Daily Life (4 Updates)
As soon as these words were spoken, the atmosphere suddenly tensed up.
Sienna Thornton continued watching the show, ignoring Simon Forrester.
Simon sat next to her, his jawline tense, not looking too pleased.
They stayed silent for a while before Simon spoke softly, "Even if we don’t get married, you’re still my girlfriend, and sometimes you’ll need to attend family events or social gatherings with me." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Sienna replied, "Since I’m just a girlfriend, there’s no need to worry about whether I’m from the entertainment industry."
Simon took a deep breath, closed his eyes, suppressing the urge to put her over his shoulder and give her a spanking.
It’s rare to see a man feeling so frustrated and helpless like he does.
After calming himself down a bit, he sidled closer, wrapping Sienna in his arms, and said seriously, "If you want to enter the entertainment industry to find your biological father, there’s no need; leave it to me, and I can help you find him."
Having hit her sore spot, Sienna said nothing, gently patting his hand, "Let’s not look for him for now. When I want to, I’ll let you know."
"Alright." Simon kissed her hair and stayed with her to watch TV.

Days passed by leisurely and comfortably like this.
The headhunter was still trying hard to connect Sienna with big law firms, but since the bar association hadn’t stopped their investigation, there were no good news for the time being.
Sienna spent her days tidying up the house and in the afternoons, she would go to the fresh market downstairs to buy ingredients for dinner.
Simon usually came back from the design firm in the evening, and after dinner, they would tidy up the kitchen and dining room together and then head to the shopping mall downstairs to browse, watch movies, shop, or play games.
Simon had a habit of working out, so Sienna would accompany him to the gym every other day. The gym was downstairs, equipped with various machines, a heated pool, and a sauna.
Initially, Sienna would lift weights with Simon. But being naturally slim with weak muscle strength, after a few sessions, she felt sore and called it quits, fearing she might build bulky muscles like a bodybuilder.
At that moment, Simon would squeeze her soft arm and ask, "Excuse me, do you have any muscles?"
"Why wouldn’t I?" she’d retort, raising her arm to try showing a tiny bicep, proud, "See, there’s a little mouse here!"
Catching her off guard, Simon would pinch it, and the little mouse would instantly vanish.
She would immediately drop her shoulders, deflated.
Simon would laugh heartily, hugging her, and point to a girl doing dumbbell flys nearby, saying, "You should try that exercise too; it helps tone the chest."
Sienna, annoyed, would snort coldly, "Fine, I’ll do it!"
She’d head over to the dumbbell area, pick the lightest weights, and lie down on the fly bench.
After finishing a set, just as she was about to rest for a minute before continuing, a man around Simon’s age came over, trying to flirt: "Hi, beauty, here alone?"
Sienna glanced at Simon, who was doing hack squats nearby and commented about her lack of muscles, sat up, smiled, and said, "I’m here with a friend."
The man thought she was with a female friend, stopped his workout to offer advice, "If you can do 20 reps with that weight, it’s time to switch to something heavier..."
"Alright, alright." Sienna lay back down for the second set.
After less than ten reps, Simon’s displeased voice broke through, "Who are you? Why are you here bothering my girlfriend while she’s exercising?"
She threw Simon a glance but continued with the chest-toning exercise he wanted.
The man, realizing the situation from her lack of intervention, awkwardly took off once he understood her relationship with Simon.
Simon approached, looking down at her with an eerie smile, "What were you talking about?"
"Nothing much."
"I saw him standing there for at least three minutes. You were talking the whole time. How could it be nothing?"
Sienna finished another set of flys, put down the dumbbells, sat up, used a towel to wipe the sweat off her neck, and replied nonchalantly, "He said my body is perfect, no need for weights, should try yoga to shape up."
Simon: "... That guy’s probably a yoga instructor trying to sell you private lessons."
Sienna rolled her eyes at him, grabbed her water and towel, and headed for the stairs.
He chased after her, "Where are you going?"
After a few steps, he realized she was heading to the yoga studio.
Lately, The Jealous Forrester was a bit clingy, and now he was troubled—he couldn’t join her in yoga as a man.

The next day, Simon left for work early. After breakfast, Sienna went online to look for a place to rent for Jenna Raines and Melinda Linton, planning on a two-bedroom apartment.
After searching, without finding anything suitable, she considered visiting an agency outside for listings, when the buyer of her old apartment called.
"Miss Thornton, sorry, there’s something I need to discuss with you."
Hearing this, Sienna’s heart skipped a beat, expecting bad news. Just as she was about to ask, the caller continued, "We originally bought your apartment for our kid’s primary school enrollment. But one private school that previously rejected us recently opened up spots for our child. So, we’re thinking of renting out your apartment, and there’s a tenant interested in viewing it this afternoon. We’re both out of town; could we trouble you to show them the place?"
Since Sienna hadn’t handed over the keys yet, the agreement was to move out within a month, and she hadn’t rushed to clear out her belongings, planning to move some to Melinda’s future place once secured.
Hearing this from the buyer sparked an idea for her. Before they hung up, she proposed, "If you decide to rent it out, why not rent it to me? My mom wants to stay around, and it’d be convenient for her to live somewhere I’m familiar with."
The buyer readily agreed, saying they would finalize the contract and payments after they’re back in Brimfield.
And just like that, the rental issue was easily resolved.
Sienna felt her luck was improving lately, her mood lifted. Before Simon got home from work, she went to check on the old apartment.
The old apartment also had two bedrooms, with all the furniture and appliances ready, requiring no additional purchases—just a cleaning and it would be move-in ready.
She contacted the cleaning lady who used to help her tidy her place and also found a baking school online not far from the old apartment.
When Simon got home, he noticed dinner wasn’t cooked and called out, "Candy, are you home?"
"Yes! I’m in the study."
He went in and found Sienna resting her chin on her hand, sitting in front of the computer.
He leaned in for a kiss, glanced at the screen, and asked, "Found a baking school?"
"Yeah," Sienna hugged his arm resting on the chair, "I just didn’t expect the courses to be this expensive... one semester costs over sixty thousand..."
