...

Blind Village,

Wu Hen dragged his weary body onto the stone bridge, leaned against the carved pillar of the bridge, and let out a long sigh of relief.

In this town that had lost its sight, Wu Hen could only judge his surroundings in a rudimentary way, yet everyone in the town seemed full of malice, guiding him towards madness and loss.

Fortunately, Wu Hen had already figured out the operating principles of this lost blind town with his own wisdom.

"Upon entering the blind town, you told me that there was a villain in the town, the only one with healthy eyes, and he blinded everyone else... You hoped I could talk to each person in the blind village to determine who blinded them all." Wu Hen talked to the air on the stone bridge.

"I know who it is, but unfortunately, I will not tell you."

"I thought I was here to help you, like a messenger sent by Heaven, but in fact, you don't need me. It's if I tell you the truth that you'll be truly harmed."

"Yes, you've lost your eyes, lost your light, lost your desire for colors, but there are more things worth cherishing."

After saying these words, Wu Hen's body emitted streaks of light, bursting from within him, making his body seem to scatter like countless petals.

The villagers gathered around; they couldn't see anything, but felt as if the person who came to help them had ascended on the stone bridge.

Some of them understood what Wu Hen said, while others remained bewildered and angrily cursed.

Only a timid-looking young girl "gazed" at the spot where Wu Hen disappeared and slowly squeezed out a smile...

...

Opening his eyes, Wu Hen returned to the Infinite City.

Vision finally restored, as if he had just woken from a dream where he couldn't open his eyes, with all kinds of magical occurrences unfolding within it.

"Did you crack the rules there?" asked the White Robed Woman.

"Some rules are not necessarily harmful..." Wu Hen replied.

"I could only glimpse some vague images, why didn't you tell the villagers who blinded them?" the White Robed Woman asked seriously.

"The light waves there were altered, all the waves scattered into human eyes carried a contamination signal. When you close your eyes, you can stay clear, but when you open them, all your will is crushed, your mind eroded, turning you into a madman in no time," Wu Hen explained.

"So you mean, the whole village becoming blind is actually a good thing?" the White Robed Woman asked.

"Yes, at least they can live healthily," Wu Hen nodded.

"Do you know who blinded them? Could it be that there was someone who awakened their vision earlier than the villagers realized the light waves were contaminated, and to save the villagers, did something cruel... and the villagers misunderstood his intention, thinking they were all sane, only he turned into a villain, causing everyone to be blind, hating him, wanting to find and execute him?" the White Robed Woman said.

Wu Hen shook his head and said, "Even if one awakens their vision, they can't withstand the erosion of light waves."

The White Robed Woman did not immediately ask for the answer but paced slowly in front of Wu Hen, evidently pondering the whole event's cause and effect.

Her steps were light, like a graceful white cat.

She crossed her hands, one hand on her side waist, the other drooping at her arm, with her forefinger tapping rhythmically on her delicate arm, whether the arm enjoyed the caress or the fingers enjoyed the elasticity of the arm muscles was unclear...

Wu Hen patiently observed her subtle movements, recalling how, when they hid in the subway of the Evil City, she thought of how to escape the Evil City in the same manner.

The memory was erased, but some habits remained.

Wu Hen felt pleased.

It was like meeting a kindred spirit on the internet during youth, and just when thinking they were lost in the vast ocean of people, found a woman whose speech and habits were similar, slowly realizing she was the once inspiring online friend.

"By doing nothing, it shows someone is silently watching over there; pointing out who the villain is would harm this Guardian." The White Robed Woman still focused on Wu Hen's journey.

"Have you figured it out?" Wu Hen said.

"Hmm, if he didn't awaken any special vision, then there's only one possibility left..." The White Robed Woman finally figured out the answer, "he was originally the village's blind man."

Wu Hen nodded. His little sister was indeed impressive, analyzing the blind village's puzzle with so little information.

"She was originally the only blind person in the village, and after the light waves were eroded, the entire village began spiraling into madness, getting Lost. She was the only clear-headed one, and to save the villagers, she turned them into blind people like herself... She's silently guarding the village, yet knows no one in the village will understand her actions."

"So, there's no one with healthy eyes in the village anymore. The villagers seek outside help, wanting to quickly find the person they believe poisoned them, but in truth, the person who they thought harmed them was the one protecting them. If a foolish person revealed this, it would harm that kind blind person," the White Robed Woman said.

"Yes, so I did nothing and returned," Wu Hen nodded.

"That kind blind person to the village is like a God, he protected the whole village but couldn't comprehend the source of light wave erosion. He could only maintain a semblance of peace through such cruel methods. As high-dimensional Gods, we should find the source of light wave erosion, preventing such tragic, regretful events from repeatedly occurring in Desert Dust." The White Robed Woman said.

Wu Hen understood Su Li's implication.

The most terrifying erosion in Otherworldly Dust comes from above.

In the entire Alternate Universe, these erosions manifest in different forms; light wave pollution is just a microcosm of the whole Desert Dust, where people, in every nook, struggle to survive humbly, through self-harm and sacrificing health. Even though minor Gods might emerge in some regions, small Guardians, they still cannot solve the fundamental issues.

That blind girl's divine glow is weak, only barely enough to protect her small village, while the Heavenly Light shining upon the earth relies on Gods who have reached higher realms to spread it, to fill the missing pieces of the sky.

Wu Hen had communicated with that blind girl.

She did not understand where the light wave erosion came from, and she was also praying to Heaven—to grant true light to their small world.

Perhaps it was the mysterious power of Infinite City that allowed Wu Hen, the Black Immortal, to descend into her village, comprehending her helplessness and suffering… She protected her world with her meager strength, waiting for a True God to cleanse the filth from the secular world.
