When Gong Xiu Jie arrived at the entrance of the Three Sages Residence, the place was already crowded with onlookers. As he led two teams into the residence, guests from the other two dimensions had long paid covert attention to this dispute happening outside. Seeing the Investigation Hall dismiss the Guiding Disciple and step away, both parties walked out of their courtyards knowingly, standing nearby with eager anticipation for the spectacle to unfold.

As Gong Xiu Jie stepped out of the gate and saw the Investigation Hall's crew stationed at the entrance without leaving, he breathed a slight sigh of relief and immediately swapped to an irritated face, reprimanding, "Do you have any rules at all? This is the Daoist Plane, not your remote and backward Base Plane. Here, you must follow our rules. Do you know what kind of people live here? How dare you barge in recklessly!"

Ignoring Gong Xiu Jie's vigorous yelling beside him, Pei Yan lifted his head, asking while facing the residence opposite Three Sages Residence with Heroes Pavilion inscribed on the plaque, and the building seemingly larger in scale, "Who lives inside here?"

Clearly unwilling to answer Pei Yan's question, Gong Xiu Jie continued his incessant rant until Pei Yan's face grew increasingly displeased, ready to burst. At that instant, a striking woman with fiery red hair from the Daoist Plane language delicately responded, "That's Heroes Pavilion, where members of the young generation of Direct Disciples from sects eligible to compete outside the last Six Mansions of the Immortal Palace live."

"Oh, thank you, sister, for your guidance." Pei Yan bowed with a smile in return for the favor, the term "sister" immediately provoked a charming and uncontrollable laughter from the lady, a fleeting hint of ruthlessness glimmering in her eyes.

Finishing his words with a laugh, Pei Yan's face also turned somber, scratching his ear with discontent, saying, "Didn't you hear? They're just small, miscellaneous sects not worthy of a showcase. If we don't smash the gate, are we really spending the night on the streets?"

"Alright! I've been waiting for that line." Wang Wenze chuckled, rolled up his sleeves, and kicked open the Heroes Pavilion's gate.

"Madness! I think you all are insane! Do you really think...!"

Babbling on for ages, Gong Xiu Jie saw this action and realized the situation was off. Cursing loudly, he reached for his waist pouch, but a gust of wind flashed before he could touch it. The last thing he registered was a sharp pain, feeling his wrist seized and twisted behind him.

"Ah!"

"Rude scoundrel!"

"Ow!"

Screams echoed one after another. Glancing sideways, Gong Xiu Jie saw his fellow disciples disarmed and subdued on the ground in the blink of an eye. Turning back, he saw the Investigation Hall's leaders standing aside, watching him with nothing but disdain and mockery in their eyes.

Sweat the size of beans dripped off Gong Xiu Jie's forehead. As much as he tried to struggle, he truly felt the killing aura emanating from the woman behind him. No! Not just her, everyone present exuded their lethal intent. Cultivators with such killing aura were either Sword Cultivators or Demon Cultivators proving their way through murder, or Martial Artists who survived treacherous paths of the Sea of Blood. None could be compared to Gong Xiu Jie, who merely ventured out to slay demons and spar normally.

"Rules?" A soft shout interrupted Gong Xiu Jie's wild thoughts, revealing the man who had been issuing orders since earlier sneering close to his face, saying, "You have been talking about rules ever since we arrived here. We've adhered to your rules all along! We tolerated your ridicule; when you said our equipment didn't comply with the rules, we discarded them. Now you've idled us around only to publicly announce that we don't even qualify to reside here, then expect us to pack up and leave. Buddy, do you think we're easy to deal with?"

Pei Yan spoke as he glanced at the Guiding Disciples still cursing and resisting despite being subdued. Frowning impatiently, he said, "What's going on, guys? Taking too long a break, and now you don't even know how to subdue captives, huh? Old Jiang, I didn't realize you're so softhearted, allowing someone to kick you without responding. With that, do you still dream of courting my sister?"

Jiang Donghu, holding a female disciple, chuckled sincerely, then lifted his foot, aiming fiercely at the woman's indiscriminately flailing calf, delivering a heavy kick. With a shrill scream, the woman stopped struggling, fainting with eyes rolled up. Following her lead, the others quickly quieted down.

Finally finding some peace, Pei Yan turned back to Gong Xiu Jie, whose face had turned ashen, and asked anew, "Which sect are you from?"

"I am Gong Xiu Jie, a Direct Disciple of Celestial Secret Pavilion. You opportunistically ambushed us, and now you're harming my fellow disciples, deliberately inciting conflict between our dimensions. Once my sect elders arrive, you won't get away lightly. Better release us immediately!"

Ignoring Gong Xiu Jie's hollow threats and roaring, Pei Yan turned to Gu Shenghui, asking, "Celestial Secret Pavilion? What sect is that? Is it powerful?"

"Celestial Secret Pavilion! It's a sect specializing in manufacturing Mechanical Puppet Magical Artifacts in the Magic Realm. Is it powerful? Not really, since the foremost Mechanical Sect in the Daoist Plane is Mo Sect, part of the current Six Mansions of the Immortal Palace. They're merely longstanding runners-up." Gu Shenghui casually replied.

"Just that?" Pei Yan turned back to Gong Xiu Jie with added disdain in his tone: "Bragging flamboyantly on the flying vessel with your arrogant demeanor, turns out it's just a second-rate sect."

"How dare you insult my sect!" Gong Xiu Jie, repeatedly humiliated, let out an angry roar, ready to activate the mechanism within his body. Little did he know, as soon as he met eyes with the opponent, his source energy froze, being forcefully suppressed back to the starting point, unable to move.

Stunned by this, Gong Xiu Jie stared fearfully at the man in front of him, who quietly asked, "I'll ask you one last question. Is your deliberate difficulty instigated by Lin Ruxue? That is, the Origin Body?" 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"Lin Ruxue? Who is Lin Ruxue? What Origin Body?" Upon hearing the unfamiliar name, Gong Xiu Jie's eyes flickered with confusion.

Watching Gong Xiu Jie's facial expressions closely, Pei Yan figured he probably wasn't lying — does he truly not know? Indeed, minor figures like him would unlikely meet the Origin Body directly. Yet, he didn't even know what an Origin Body was. Could Lin Ruxue go by a different name in this plane?

At this moment, Lin Junzhao's voice reverberated in Pei Yan's mind, saying, "No need to be apprehensive. Things like this certainly aren't done by my dear teacher Lin Ruxue. That old thing in the Hell Plane loves possessing human bodies, keen to leave descendants everywhere, eager to be everybody's father, blatantly declaring he's a Demon God. Other dimension Origins, however, don't share such tendencies, at least not for now! Lin Ruxue occasionally travels far, sometimes enjoys peaceful cultivation, loves eating and playing, but never clings to power. Towards the Daoist Plane, she essentially adopts laissez-faire governance."
