Otherworldly Affairs Office-Chapter 567: The Curse of Reincarnation (Seeking Subscription)
After casting the desperate curse, Lelajin was driven to a dead end by several Thunder Dragons. Having torn open a piece of space with bare hands to divert one of the dragons away, he had no choice but to mobilize all the elemental Qi around him, elevating his defense and self-healing to the utmost, preparing to withstand the onslaught of incoming attacks.
"Ah!!!"
Amidst the valley, the piercing screams echoed louder for a long time, covering the thunderous roar. Pei Yan, observing the body struck and burnt to black ashes by the Thunder Dragon under the guidance of his nanobots, sincerely remarked, "It's indeed befitting of a Ninth Tier being, even its screams are far louder than the average person's." Then, noticing the charred shell cracking open, oozing crimson blood as the body squirmed incessantly, he added, "Its level of obstinacy is amplified ten thousand folds."
"Do you see! I am unkillable! Unkillable! Daring to force me to this extent again and again, today I will surely kill you!" Lelajin, emerging through the charred surface with arms yet to fully heal, swung his blood-soaked arms, abandoning his last shred of reason and the notion of fleeing, roaring madly.
"A vow that cannot be fulfilled is just a laughable joke, and today, you've told this joke twice," Pei Yan said, slightly raising his arms, ready to launch the next attack. He never believed anyone was truly immortal; they just hadn't reached his limit yet. Lelajin's slowing self-recovery was the best proof, and Pei Yan was determined to send him to his death, one strike at a time.
Just as he was about to attack, Lelajin grabbed into the void, retrieving a ram's horn dagger falling from a space rift. Then, reaching for his demonic horns atop his head, an expression of unwillingness and hesitation emerged. Glaring at Pei Yan locking on him tightly, Lelajin steeled his resolve with venomous desperation, snapping both his horns together.
"Come forth, youngster, and join me in samsara!" Lelajin's face, destined to be covered in erupting Demonic Qi, twisted with a ferocious grin. Using the dagger, he sliced open wounds on both sides of his cheeks.
Seeing this, Pei Yan was startled, recalling the previous scene with Samikina, thinking this was bad. Just as he was about to interrupt Lelajin's spell by attacking, he hesitated internally, deciding, "Let him cast the spell!"
"Why? This might be a curse involving true names. Haven't you always warned me to be cautious and wary of this? He knows I'm not Shitang Longsi; he might have learned my true name. After all, he's a higher-tier Ninth Demon Race, his power augmented after sacrificing to the Demon God. I must not take this risk!" Pei Yan questioned, blurting out in disbelief.
"Didn't you say you'd trust me? Trust me, and just watch quietly; ultimately, it'll be him who suffers!"
Listening to Lin Junzhao's words, Pei Yan hesitated, skeptically lowering his arms, reluctantly watching Lelajin encased in rising Demonic Qi from a distance. At this point, Lelajin had carved wounds on both sides of his cheeks and on his chest skin. With whispered incantations, the wounds greedily sucked, like five vacuum channels, forcibly reclaiming Demonic Qi previously escaping from his body.
However, the wounds didn't heal as Demonic Qi was absorbed; instead, as more Qi was absorbed, the wounds widened further, leaking blood all over Lelajin's body. Before long, a bizarre, intricate star disk array emerged on the surface.
"You arrogantly allowed me to complete this spell, ha-ha-ha! Your arrogance, ignorance, and stupidity are beyond my imagination!" Lelajin, upon completing the ritual, unabashedly ridiculed his adversary before his life drew to an end.
Yet the opponent's demeanor drastically disappointed him. Watching Pei Yan, who stood unmoving, removed his mask during the battle, lit a cigar, and leisurely watched him like a monkey show with sympathetic eyes, Lelajin was completely enraged by Pei Yan's unrestrained contempt, roaring furiously, "You must think hiding your identity well, Shitang Longsi! No, I should call you Pei Yan! Am I right?"
Seeing Pei Yan's face, once smug, now twisted with shock and terror, readying to attack, Lelajin felt immense satisfaction, laughing heartily, "Now it's too late to know the truth; prepare to join me in samsara."
After his words, Lelajin stabbed his dagger directly into his heart, shouting aloud: "I, Carl Mendel Lelajin, offer my wealth, strength, life, and soul to the all-knowing, all-powerful Great Demon God, beseeching you to take the souls of myself and my foe, Pei Yan, forever damned in the eternal cycle, forever barred from enlightenment!"
As the pledge concluded, boundless red light burst forth from Lelajin's array. Pei Yan, standing at a distance, felt like being dragged by an invisible force; despite his struggles, it was futile as he was pulled directly before Lelajin. With a flash of blue light, something seemed to be extracted from Pei Yan's body, together with black gas being simultaneously drawn into the enormous array.
Moments later, the light dissipated on the devastated snowy terrain of Snow Peak Ridge, leaving two people facing each other, gasping for air. Pei Yan, pallid and weary, clutching his chest, barked angrily, "What have you done to me?"
"Ha-ha-ha," reclining leisurely on the ground, Lelajin turned his head, gazing at the twisted face of Pei Yan with pure satisfaction, arrogantly remarking, "Oh? You know fear now? Where has your arrogance gone! Foolishly ignorant, arrogantly insipid, regardless of your extraordinary talent, today you'll turn to ash along with me. Both our souls have been cast into samsara as offerings; the Demon God has reclaimed our power."
"As a traitor of the Demon Race, can you also borrow the Demon God's strength?" Pei Yan supported himself with one hand, incredulous.
"Hmph, as long as his blood flows through me, I may borrow his power! Furthermore, as long as offerings are made, whether legitimate or illegitimate, whether hero or traitor, he fulfills your desires upon receiving the tribute. This is the Demon God's own spell, his own rule, which he must follow; in this aspect, he is fair." While speaking, Lelajin exhibited a forlorn expression.
At this moment, a noise erupted by their side. Having resigned to death, Lelajin didn't bother to turn, disdainful, commenting, "Stop struggling; your soul's been reaped, only a smidgen of consciousness remains supporting your body. Soon, even this will vanish; the harder you struggle, the quicker the process accelerates." As he spoke, Lelajin painstakingly turned his head, adding, "Witnessing you lamenting regretfully brings me joy until my last breath."
"What a shame, looks like you're bound for disappointment again!"
