Otaku Witch-Chapter 1447 - 791: Sisters
"Huh?"
Her voice was a bit small, and this Psychic Magic Array was indeed too simple and somewhat unstable, so Dorothy didn’t hear Artie’s muttering clearly, just looked over in confusion.
"Oh, it’s nothing. That band of bandits is indeed somewhat notorious; they are the famous Thirty-Nine People Guild, a thieves’ guild composed of thirty-nine Transcendents, very powerful. Even some small countries find it hard to resist once they are targeted by them."
She explained.
"I see."
Dorothy nodded, beginning to understand.
Transcendents are already rare among mortals, and any one of them is one in ten thousand. A thieves’ guild that could gather thirty-nine Transcendents is almost legendary in a mortal realm, and a legendary thieves’ guild is indeed akin to an Evil Dragon for ordinary people.
Yep, running into them is basically a death sentence.
It might even be a little worse than meeting a dragon because at least dying by a dragon’s mouth is quick, without torture.
"Are you okay?"
Dorothy asked with some concern.
Facing her concern, Artie on the other side was stunned again, but quickly squeezed out a sweet smile.
"Of course I’m fine. If I were in trouble, could I still be speaking with you here? Those bandits are only in it for the money. They might be strong but they are stupid, and I have already easily infiltrated them. Now the Thirty-Nine People Guild has become Forty Thieves. We were just discussing the new team name. My proposal for the Black Beast Guild was rejected, and they seem to be choosing Black Dragon Guild or something. Isn’t a dragon still a beast? Once I’m in charge, I’ll change it back."
Artie complained.
Dorothy: "......"
Goodness, you truly never fail to blend seamlessly with villainy.
The homebody witch thought silently.
This hostage suddenly turned into one of the kidnappers, even having them change their name for her, nobody else could do that. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
She completely forgot that she had already blended seamlessly with Miss Black Dragon.
Though her blend was more of a physical kind.
But speaking of which, Black Beast Guild, the name sounds familiar, as if Lord Demon King really had a top battle group by this name.
"Alright, don’t be reckless. You can blend in with them now because you’re still of use, far from safe. You can never entrust your life to others; your fate should be in your hands. I see you’re sort of a Mage now, here are a few spells for you to memorize quickly."
Though rather speechless, seeing Artie relatively safe made her breathe a sigh of relief. After all, this unlucky child is just a tool for Lord Demon King to play a prank on her. Her pitiable fate is also because of her, and if possible, the homebody witch hopes this child can live a comfortable and smooth life.
She swiftly passed a few spells she had worked out to the other side.
She noticed that Artie seemed to have become a Human Mage as well; apparently, she had received good education after being adopted by a wealthy family in these two years. It’s a good thing; once she learned her modified spells, while not directly invincible, she should have no problem with those of the same level.
Artie nodded when she heard her, the little one surprisingly diligent in studying, which relieved Dorothy.
This is growth after all. The Evil Breed Artie from Witch’s Night was not this easy to teach; that child was a handful.
Thus, one taught, and the other learned, while the brief midnight quickly passed.
When the calm sea began to stir once more, Dorothy knew that time had passed.
"Seems like it’s time to say goodbye again. Did you remember all that? Lastly, don’t be impulsive, your wealthy sister might already be on her way to rescue you. We’re civilized people; if we don’t have to, let’s not resort to violence."
Having just finished teaching the last spell, the homebody witch looked at her reflection and asked.
The Artie in the water earnestly nodded; she looked at this other "self" with a complex expression, wanting to say something, but after a wave, everything returned to silence.
When the wave receded, Dorothy looked at the sea surface again, but the reflection was just a reflection.
But speaking of which, Artie could afford a mirror this time, while she could only use the sea as a mirror, tsk, how the tables turn.
To have a dedicated mirror in a robber’s den, the little one’s safety indeed didn’t need her worry.
Also, Artie had truly grown up this time, actually holding back a little, not telling the truth. It seemed she had taken her prior teaching about trusting no one to heart.
This is good; it will help her live longer.
........
Atop the mountain, the dark Great Dragon watched as the homebody witch climbed nimbly, like a gecko, up the straight cliff, speechless.
"This one just said she’d sleep, and now she’s running to the seaside in the middle of the night. Truly a great liar, not a word from her mouth is true."
Miss Black Dragon thought to herself.
Recalling the homebody witch’s words about the Dragon Clan’s True Name made her realize she didn’t even have a name yet.
Well, she used to be the only dragon on this lonely island, no need for a name.
But now there’s someone to accompany her, it seems it’s time to get a name.
