Operation Honey Trap vs The Emperor of the Apocalypse-Chapter 104: Code Red
Han’s tripwire alarms had only been installed for a day when they started to blare in the control room.
Luckily, he and Winter were rostered on, so he was able to rapidly focus the cameras on the entry point.
Winter rushed over to look over his shoulder.
"What is it? Can you see anything?"
He increased the zoom, and four humans came sharply into view. Soldiers. They were baled up by a dragon and dingo, waving their swords in front of them trying to keep them at bay. One of them was also madly flapping a white rag.
"Code red," he told Winter.
She ran back to the intercom system and broadcast the code red alarm throughout the complex.
"Looks like a white flag," Han said to her urgently.
Winter’s voice crackled over the intercom system.
"Intruders have tripped the alarms. Currently pinned down by Jannali and Red. White flag spotted."
Delphi and Alton were in the botanic gardens leading a dagger throwing session.
Miro and Maback suddenly stood at their full height, looking back towards the HQ.
"What’s going on with them?" Delphi nudged Alton, pointing at the two dragons.
The next moment the tubiàn pair dropped to all fours and skidded over to Delphi and Alton.
"Something’s happening back at the silo!" Alton shouted.
Delphi and Alton were mounted up in seconds, and their dragons flew off in the direction of the disturbance.
The rest of the team started whistling for their dragon mounts.
At the end of a narrow alleyway, Alton and Delphi saw four soldiers, two men and two women. They were fenced in by Jannali and Red. Red was barking and snarling at them.
One of the men was frantically flapping a white rag. He called out as soon as he saw Delphi and Alton.
"A bit of help over here please!"
"Back off Jannali, Red," Delphi called.
The four intruders watched in awe as the tubiàn dragon and dingo both backed off a few feet and sat down, watching the unwelcome visitors suspiciously.
Delphi and Alton stopped about thirty metres from the soldiers.
"Are there any more of you?" Alton asked, looking around the area watchfully.
’This could be a trap Alton,’ Delphi signed at him. He nodded.
"No," the young man called. "We’re it. Chief Consort Tang sent us to join the Rebellion."
"Prove it," Alton demanded.
The two attractive young ladies among them unbuttoned their military pants and pulled them down, displaying their very fetching panties and other ’assets’, as they stuck out their long shapely legs and flashed their little monkey’s head tattoos where they were located up high on their inner thighs.
"I’ll need to get closer to see if they’re legitimate," said Alton in a deadpan voice.
"Oh no you don’t," flashed Delphi. "I’ll check the girls’; you can check the men."
Alton chuckled.
Delphi strode forward; sword still drawn.
"The consorts never thought of the practicalities when they chose that position for the tattoo," grumbled Delphi under her breath.
She peered at the tattoos from a closer distance. They were exactly right, with the little cursive ’G’s’ in each eye. She gave Alton a thumb’s up.
"I’ll check the men while I’m here," she called.
Both men pulled off their shirts, displaying physiques that took Delphi’s breath away momentarily. They turned to display their shoulder blades to her.
Before she could get a proper look at them, Alton grabbed her around the waist and placed her behind him, turning her back to the men.
"Not a job for a woman," he fumed.
Both of the men turned out to be rather ridiculously handsome, he discovered when he was up close, and his annoyance at Delphi grew to raging proportions. Where had the Chief Consort recruited these soldiers from, the catwalk?
"Both legitimate as well," he said coldly.
As Delphi and Alton lowered their swords, the rest of the GG team turned up on their dragons. The four newcomers’ eyes were on stalks.
"Dragon riders," breathed the man who appeared to be their leader.
"Yup," Delphi smiled at him, and it was his turn to have the breath knocked out of him.
He smiled broadly back at her, until he saw Alton’s angry glower, and he quickly settled his face back into an emotionless expression.
She stuck out her hand. "Delphi Chastain," she introduced herself.
"Your reputation precedes you, Miss Chastain. Brenner Gray," he shook her hand gently, looking into her eyes, still sideswiped by the woman. "This is my sister Opal," he introduced the young woman behind him.
They were a matched pair. Both had light brown hair with golden highlights, complementary golden-brown eyes with thick, defined eyebrows, and fair skin. Opal’s hair fell in pretty waves to reach halfway down her back, and Delphi wondered how she managed to look so perfectly put together after the hard travel they’d just been through.
Delphi smiled at Opal. "Welcome Opal, we’re very excited you could join us," the two women shook hands.
"Wei Kai, first name Kai," said the beautiful young man standing next to Brenner, offering his hand to Delphi.
She flashed him a warm smile as she shook his hand.
"And this is my sister, Wei Tingting, goes by Tingting."
"Tingting, thank you for joining us," Delphi clasped the girl’s hand and looked into her pretty eyes. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
This brother and sister were also blessed by the looks gods. Of mixed Asian and Anglo descent, Opal’s hair was like Feifei’s, long, shiny and black, just touching her butt. Her beautiful porcelain complexion was protected by an army-issue cap. She had blue eyes, where her brother’s were so dark brown to be almost black. He wore his thick black hair parted down the middle and stray wisps fell artfully across his forehead. His heart-shaped face was delicate, making him boyishly handsome.
"You’ve come such a long way. You must be exhausted. Come inside the silo and we’ll show you around. You can have a warm shower and a nap before we debrief."
They started walking up the alleyway together.
"That sounds amazing," said Opal, running her fingers through her beautiful long hair, "I’m in dire need of a shower".
"General Alton Meyer," said Alton, sticking out his hand to introduce himself, first to the new men, then to the women. He kept a possessive hand on Delphi’s shoulder.
"General," said Brenner. "We know of you as Commander Meyer and Prince Alton, but this is a new and welcome development. We had no news, so we didn’t know if you and your men were dead or had decided to join the Rebellion."
"As you can see, we’re all in," Alton gestured at his men waiting further along the alleyway. It was too early to mention Bo.
Baer and Niko scuffled with one another to be at the front of the greeting line, both of them making fools of themselves in their eagerness to introduce themselves to the young women, particularly Opal.
Delphi shook her head in dismay, looking at Indy and Loveday, who were exchanging an exasperated glance.
Lili jumped ahead of everyone to introduce herself to Kai, her mouth hung partially open as she gazed at his face.
"Close your mouth before you catch a fly, Lili," Delphi teased.
Anyone else would have been embarrassed, but Lili just laughed easily, Cormac glowering like a thunderstorm behind her.
Winter showed the new recruits to their dormitories and gave them some supplies so they could have a shower and a rest.
"Briefing with the Generals in the control room at seventeen hundred," she told them. "Dinner’s at eighteen hundred. Wear something pretty from the robe in your dorm. We’re having a buffet dinner with a welcome party for you all."
