Online Game: Low Drop Rate? I Have a Guaranteed Drop System!-Chapter 223: God-Creating Space, Mechanical Overlord
"Sir, don’t you need me to come with you?" Benz didn’t want to stay behind—he’d much rather stick with Johnnie.
"No, you two stay here and keep watch." Johnnie refused without hesitation.
Benz and the Red Carp were strong, but just a bit lacking when it came to fighting the mechanical Domain.
Besides, now that the Dark Golden Mechanical Golem’s stats were fully unlocked, it was even stronger than Johnnie himself.
With the Dark Golden Golem to tie up the enemy, and his own spatial blink skills, he was confident he could handle the remaining Divine powerhouses of the Mechanical Race.
Johnnie didn’t linger. He left the mine, flying off with the Mechanical Golem, sword beneath his feet, heading for the Mechanical City.
He already knew the city’s location—he’d gotten that intel from Xavier.
The Spatial Anchor locking this space down was located right in the Mechanical City.
But that place was forbidden ground, guarded by ten powerful Divine powerhouses of the Mechanical Race.
Even with his power boost and help from the Dark Golden Golem, Johnnie still didn’t dare take on all ten of them head-on.
His only hope was to rely on the Golem’s strength to keep them busy.
Man and golem flew at full speed.
Now and then, a Battle Mecha would show up, but Johnnie didn’t bother attacking; he let the Dark Golden Mechanical Golem handle them all.
Sure enough, Lucky Master triggered every time, and they always dropped Energy Cores.
He just wasn’t sure if the Dark Golden Golem got any extra stats from killing these elites.
The Golem’s stat panel didn’t show EXP or levels.
But it did have its own God-killing Power—killing Domains should definitely trigger something. He just didn’t know if the Golem’s stat increases would affect him too.
God-killing Power was tricky to test.
Johnnie could kill Domains thanks to the Seven Sword Instant Kill effect, but even with the Golem’s current power, it could at best hold a Domain in check. Killing one was still tough.
Especially when it came to these unusual mechanical Domains.
He’d have to wait until he got out of this space to truly test the God-killing Power.
Johnnie stopped worrying about it and kept flying at top speed.
This space was vast. After half a day, a gigantic Mechanical City finally came into view.
The City of the Mechanical Gods.
Johnnie looked up at the plaque, but didn’t rush in. At the city gate stood a stone stele, carved with six massive words: "Humanity destroyed, Machines will rise!"
"How arrogant can you get?" he muttered, frowning, his eyes icy cold.
Could it be that, in his past life, the disaster that befell humanity on Earth was all the work of the Mechanical Race?
Since his rebirth, too many things had changed.
The Mechanical Race and Demon Race—these two powerful species hadn’t shown up in his previous life. He still didn’t know what role they were meant to play.
But as long as he was here, humanity would never fall.
He couldn’t vouch for every other human world, but he’d make sure Earth was safe!
Johnnie gazed at the massive city ahead. The gates were wide open. Just like the floating Mechanical City in the Dark Forest, this place was deathly still.
"Dark Golden, you scout ahead." he ordered the Golem beside him.
"Yes, sir." The Dark Golden Golem strode straight into the city without the slightest hesitation.
Once Johnnie saw it was safe, he followed it inside.
[Ding, you have entered the God-Creating Space.]
A prompt message popped up.
God-Creating Space?
Johnnie frowned. Could this place really create Domains?
He could sense it—this space was definitely a separate, independent realm.
Johnnie hesitated for a moment, considering leaving.
Boom!
With a thunderous crash, the heavy city gates slammed shut behind him.
Johnnie’s expression shifted. He rushed back to the gates, trying to push them open.
He tried several times, but the thick gates didn’t budge an inch, as if they were completely locked.
"Dark Golden, give it a shot." he told the Golem.
The Dark Golden Golem nodded and raised its hand, smashing it against the gate.
Johnnie was speechless—this guy was even more hotheaded than he was. He’d meant for the Golem to try opening the gate, not smashing it down.
Boom!
The gates merely shuddered a little, with not a scratch on them.
"Sir, it’s no use. This city gate seems to be made of some special metal. My attacks can’t break through." the Dark Golden Golem stepped back and said helplessly.
Johnnie nodded. If the Dark Golden Golem couldn’t break it, there was no way he could.
"Human, don’t bother trying. I personally created this space. It’s even sturdier and more stable than the outside world." suddenly, an ethereal mechanical voice drifted through the empty city. From the sound, it was a woman speaking.
Johnnie scanned his surroundings warily, but saw nothing.
He asked coldly, "Who are you?"
"Haven’t you been looking for me all along? I am the Mechanical Overlord!" That ethereal voice echoed through the city, coming from everywhere at once. Johnnie couldn’t pinpoint the source at all.
Mechanical Overlord? The master behind the Mechanical Race?
Johnnie frowned, then pressed, "You’re trying to trap me here?"
"No, I want to work with you." The Mechanical Overlord’s voice reverberated, "I know why you came—to destroy the Spatial Anchor and merge this space into the Map of Heaven and Earth. I can help you, but you have to join my Mechanical Race."
"Oh, really?" Johnnie kept his cool. He wasn’t sure he could destroy the Spatial Anchor on his own.
But if she really helped him merge this space with the Map of Heaven and Earth, Coco could erase it.
The Mechanical Overlord’s voice came again, "Of course. You’re strong and you’ve grasped the laws of machinery. If we join forces, we could absolutely rule this star region."
Star region? Not the Universe Continent.
Johnnie was curious about what exactly she meant by this "star region."
He didn’t ask further, just said, "Fine. I agree. Go ahead and destroy the Spatial Anchor."
A soft chuckle echoed, then the Mechanical Overlord said, "Human, let’s not kid ourselves. I’m not foolish enough to trust you so easily. I can destroy the Spatial Anchor, but you must give up your physical body and fully become one of the Mechanical Race. As your human saying goes, ’His heart is not with my kind.’ Only once you become Mechanical Race can I truly trust you."
Johnnie scowled and replied coldly, "Give up my body? Why not just ask me to kill myself?"
"No, you won’t die. Just like the Dark Golden Mechanical Golem beside you—you gave it life, didn’t you? You’ll simply abandon your body and transform into a mechanical life form." her voice was full of temptation.
The Dark Golden Golem’s eyes glinted suspiciously. "Sir, this one’s trying to take control of me!" it said.
Johnnie was startled, but after confirming the Golem was fine, he felt relieved.
He snapped, "Mechanical Overlord, it seems you never intended to really cooperate."
"Don’t get me wrong. I just wanted to test out your creation, the Mechanical Golem." the Mechanical Overlord continued. "Human, as long as you give up your body, I’ll grant you a powerful Domain-level form and make you a Divine powerhouse."
"Hmph, you think I care about some Domain?" Johnnie scoffed. He’d already killed several mechanical Domains.
If he could just find her real body, he wouldn’t even waste words.
"Human, think it over. Mechanical life is your true destiny. No need to rush your answer. Feel free to look around—this God-Creating Space is where Domains are forged."
The Mechanical Overlord’s voice faded away, leaving Johnnie frowning. Did this mean there were more than just ten Divine powerhouses here?
Just then, Coco’s voice sounded in his mind, "Sir, this place used to be a special part of the Map of Heaven and Earth, and it sealed away quite a few Domain corpses. That Mechanical Overlord used those corpses to create even more mechanical Domains."
Johnnie wasn’t surprised; he already knew those mechanical Domains were all transformed fallen Domain bodies.
Except for that Xavier from before—he’d been controlling a Dark Golden Mechanical Golem.
Johnnie asked in his heart, "Coco, is there any way you can refine this space?"
"No. The Mechanical Overlord was right—this space is too stable. I can only refine it if the Spatial Anchor is destroyed." Coco paused for a moment, then continued, "The Mechanical Overlord is a type of consciousness. She can’t exist independently and must have a vessel. I suspect this massive Mechanical City is her vessel."
What?
Johnnie was shocked. This city was enormous, stretching as far as the eye could see, covering at least several hundred kilometers.
The entire city was the Mechanical Overlord’s body—that was just incredible.
But if that was the case, wouldn’t attacking the city possibly trigger the Seven Sword Instant Kill effect and kill her outright?
It was entirely possible!
Buzz!
A thought struck him, and the Seven Swords flew out, striking at the surrounding mechanical buildings.
Clang, clang...
A series of impacts echoed out, but just like hitting the Domain bodies of the Mechanical Race, there was no damage at all.
He turned to the Dark Golden Golem and said, "You attack, too."
The Dark Golden Golem had stats like his and did decent damage—maybe it could actually leave a mark.
"Yes, sir!"
The Dark Golden Golem replied, then unleashed the Myriad Sword Technique—thousands of sword lights flashed and rained down on the nearby buildings.
Clang, clang, clang...
A barrage of impacts rang out, but the Dark Golden Golem’s attacks couldn’t do any damage either.
And since the Seven Sword couldn’t copy itself and didn’t have the Instant Kill effect, his attacks were basically meaningless.
Johnnie didn’t mind. He kept controlling the seven flying swords, attacking recklessly.
"Human, looks like you’ve made a terrible mistake!" An angry shout rang out, the Mechanical Overlord’s cold voice filling the air.
So Coco was right—this city really was the Mechanical Overlord’s body.
Johnnie sneered and ignored her, continuing the crazed assault with his Seven Swords.
"Very well. In that case, you can stay here forever!"
Rumble...
As her voice faded, the city began to shake, and a terrifying aura swept through the place. In the city, figures began to flicker into view—every one of them a mechanical Domain.
"So many?"
Johnnie’s expression shifted. More than a hundred mechanical Domains had appeared out of nowhere!
He could barely handle ten Domains, let alone more than a hundred.
"Dark Golden, retreat!" Johnnie knew he was no match for that many Domains, so he immediately made a run for it, attacking with the Seven Swords as he fled.
If he could just trigger the Instant Kill effect and wipe out the Mechanical Overlord, maybe he could break out of this crisis.
"Human, you won’t escape." The angry shout came again. Thunder rolled, and blinding arcs of electricity lit up the sky, covering several kilometers around Johnnie.
It was the Domains!
