Chapter 581: Chapter 557: Breaking the Game (Two in One)_2

"Holy crap!"

Su Ran was shocked and quickly dodged to one side. Damn, if he was hit by that sand, would he not end up like a perforated sieve?

Finally, the Sand Elephant ceased its attack. Having exhausted a vast amount of sand and having lost the support of the air, its body shrank by half. The furious Sand Elephant rampaged on the ground, but it was unable to do anything to Su Ran.

Upon seeing this, a thought arose in Su Ran’s mind. If he lured it to use this attack again, would it bury itself under its own sand?

Concerned about the little stone outside, Su Ran couldn’t spare the time to pay attention to the Sand Elephant below. He shifted his focus to the odd grain of sand in his hand.

In Su Ran’s view, it was a crystal grain of sand, clear and translucent, its edges defined. A yellow beam wandered within the sand, as if holding a life form in suspension, almost making Su Ran speechless in awe.

"What a treasure!"

Su Ran’s face beamed with joy. He fondled it in his hand for a while before finally deciding to unmask the mystery of this object and investigate its properties.

[Dragon Soul Sand] (Special) (Sealed)

Endows the sand with spirit, with an innate talent for controlling sand.

In its sealed state, it cannot be used.

Note: It has been rumored that a dragon soul is sealed within the sand, holding unfathomable mysteries.

"Dragon Soul Sand?"

"Well, just by its name, I know this is not an average item! Huh...why is it sealed?!"

"Just a moment ago, this thing was still mighty. Why is it inoperative as soon as it’s in my possession? Damn, it’s a scam!!!"

A surge of expletives rose in Su Ran’s mind, just as if a woman had undressed only for him to discover that her private parts matched his own. Whoever came across such a situation, would be able to bear it?!

The flame of anticipation in his heart was instantly doused by a bucket of cold water. Disinterested, he randomly stuffed the grain of sand into his bladder and placed it into the Storage Box.

However,

Just as that grain of sand disappeared from the spatial wrap, the Sand Elephant below, with a bang, exploded into a sky full of sand, quickly covering the ground with a thick layer.

Simultaneously, the system’s delightful prompt rang in his mind, causing Su Ran to be taken aback.

"Ding! Congratulations to player Skeleton, you have obtained a special mission item, Dragon Soul Sand, you have been assigned a compulsory hidden task, Nature’s Punishment."

"Nature’s Punishment? What the hell?"

Su Ran cared much for hidden tasks, but what does compulsory mean?

Confused, Su Ran opened the mission panel directly, found the newly acquired hidden mission, and began to read the mission prompt carefully.

[Nature’s Punishment] (Hidden Mission)

Go to Elf Forest, find the Elf King. You will acquire useful information.

Mission Time: unlimited.

Failure Punishment: none.

"Thank god, there’s no time limit, otherwise my ass would be on fire again!"

Su Ran had no idea where the Elf Forest was. Seeing the mission had no restraint, he relaxed, and after closing the mission tab, turned his attention back to the spatial wrap.

"There’s not even an exit here. How can I get out?"

After searching for a while, Su Ran still couldn’t find an exit. It seemed like a trap, confining him inside.

"That’s it!"

An idea flashed up. Su Ran thought of the Sand Elephant. This creature had managed to dig a hole in the ground with its nose. If he used his hoe, coupled with his level 7 mining skill, it would be strange if he couldn’t break through this spatial wrap!!!

No sooner said than done, Su Ran took out a hoe bought in Novice Village, aiming it at the ground, and started digging vigorously.

Indeed, as Su Ran had guessed, the exit was right under his feet.

Under Su Ran’s vigorous digging, the spatial wrap couldn’t last very long before it shattered into countless dots of light, dissolving into the air. As for Su Ran, he ended up somewhat awkwardly beside the teleportation circle of the Demonic Treasure Mountain.

"Phew, finally escaped alive!"

Su Ran finally broke through the trap and sat down on the ground. At this moment, he wondered, what if the hamster had entered this spatial wrap? Would it not be abused to death by the system? It was a close shave, as who could predict what would happen next.

But, there inevitably has to be a reward after all the risks taken. He did manage to trigger a hidden mission in the Space Wrap. Not bad!

Su Ran took a moment to rest, then activated his Mental Induction skill. He quickly located little Shitou. He saw that the little guy had, obediently, stayed put.

"This little guy, he is so obedient, haha!"

"Whoosh!"

A glint of white light flashed by and, in an instant, Su Ran was beside the Little Stone.

"Hey, let’s go!"

With a shout from Su Ran, the lost-in-thought Little Stone was awakened from his trance.

"Lord, my Lord!"

Little Stone looked at Su Ran with pure delight. It scared Su Ran a little, seeing such a look in his eye.

"You are just too amazing! You dealt with those humans effortlessly!"

"This little bit of skill is nothing." Su Ran replied modestly. Being admired by an NPC just over killing a few players felt a bit beneath him – what a bumpkin!

"My Lord, with you at the helm, I’m certain our Skeleton Village will see its glory days!"

Little Stone looked at Su Ran with admiration plastered all over his face; it was so blatant that Su Ran was somehow a bit embarrassed.

"Ding! Congratulations. Player Skeleton’s territory inhabitant, Liu Shitou, has reached maximum favorability towards you and will never betray you."

Well, well, well, an unexpected gain!

With a blink, Su Ran and the Black Skeleton teleported to the foot of the mountain. With a single blow, the towering Demonic Treasure Mountain disappeared, revealing a large expanse of empty land.

"Hiss... my Lord, you are... you are too powerful! You even took out a whole mountain!"

Little Stone’s voice wavered as he looked at Su Ran, shaking as if faced with a demon.

"Stop jumping to conclusions!"

Smacking him on his shiny black skull, Su Ran said exasperatedly, "When we get back to the territory, you’ll find out what’s going on, you impure little rascal!"

"Who’s impure? You’re the filthy one!"

...

Along the way, Su Ran and Little Stone laughed and chatted as they traveled. With Wang Cai leading the way, Su Ran never encountered a single danger. They journeyed through the Desert of Death and the Dark Forest, finally arriving at the Dark Swamp.

"Brother, have all the people assembled?"

A loud voice suddenly rang out from afar. It penetrated through the dense weeds and clearly reached Su Ran’s mind.

"There’s someone here!"

Su Ran said quietly to Little Stone, feeling puzzled. Why would anyone gather in the Dark Swamp, a low-level map? Could they mean harm to his territory?

But that doesn’t make sense. If they have designs on his territory, they would head to the Sinister Grave Ridge. What are they doing here?

There must be a reason!

"Big Brother Lord, we met quite a few of the Human Race in the Desert of Death, and you didn’t seem this cautious. What’s going on?"

Little Stone quickly warmed up to Su Ran, calling him ’Big Brother Lord’ after traveling together for a while.

"Shush, let’s listen for a bit!"

His curiosity piqued, Su Ran motioned for Little Stone to follow and advanced slowly in that direction.

"Today, we must take down this Gold BOSS!"

The voice sounded mature, hinting at an older player.

"But, the fire toads in this swamp are annoying. They’re social creatures—messing with one could spell trouble!"

The loud voice echoed again, "Brother, we also have the leeches in the swamp. We’ll be wiped out if we fall short in numbers!"

"What do you know? Those are all low-level monsters. We’re level thirty-something. Are we going to be scared of some level twenty minor monsters? Ridiculous!"

"But, there are too many of them, Brother! We better call more people!"

The loud voice, intent on persuading his older brother, continued, "Besides, there are quite a few corpse poison mosquitoes spawning above the swamp. Being surrounded is not a joke, brother. We need to be certain of victory!"

"If you’re always so hesitant, you’re no man at all! Besides, how valuable can the loot from a mere level 20 Gold BOSS be? There’s not enough to share if there are too many people!"

The mature voice coughed from talking too excitedly, then continued, "I’m doing a hidden task, the fewer people knowing the better! The four of you are my trusted friends. As long as I complete the task, I’ll make sure you guys get your share!"

A hidden task?

Upon hearing this, Su Ran’s heart stirred.
