Chapter 101: Chapter 101 Hidden Terrain

After logging off, Su Ran opened his eyes. As soon as he stepped out of the Nutrition Cabin, he saw his mother handing him his cellphone.

Huh? Wasn’t this the new phone he just bought?

"Son, you had a call earlier. It’s this late, and I was worried that it might be something important that could not wait, so I brought you out of the game first to check. Call them back before you go back to your game," Su Ran’s mom said, full of curiosity.

A call on his phone? But he hadn’t given his number to anyone!

Su Ran took the phone, looked at it, and indeed, there was a missed call. The number was a local one.

What a nuisance! He was busy completing quests in the game, and now, a call had him out in reality, and worst of all, he didn’t even know who had called him!

Glancing at his mother, who was practically all ears, an annoyed Su Ran reluctantly dialed back to the unfamiliar number. After a while, the call was picked up.

"Hello, may I speak with Mr. Su Ran?" A sweet female voice came from the phone.

Su Ran’s eyes instantly sharpened.

"Who are you?" Su Ran didn’t answer but countered with his own question.

"Hello, this is the 10086 customer survey line, and I am your personal customer service manager, my surname is Yu," said Miss Yu, her voice gentle as a river, impossible for men to resist.

"Miss Yu, hello. Could you check what time it is now?" Su Ran’s temper started to flare.

"22:30, what’s wrong? Oh, did I disturb your rest? I’m sorry, I’m sorry," Miss Yu quickly apologized.

"What do you think? It’s resting time now and your call has seriously disrupted my routine. I will file a complaint against you at your office tomorrow. That’s all." After finishing, Su Ran hung up and turned his phone off.

"Hey, hey, hey!" Miss Yu called hurriedly, but it was in vain—the busy tone was already heard.

"What happened?" Seeing Su Ran get angry, his mother asked anxiously.

"Mom, it was just a scam call. Don’t take it seriously," Su Ran smiled at his mother. "Mom, I’m busy with quests in the game. I’ll go in first. I’ll tell you more at dinner tomorrow~"

"Alright, go ahead. Remember to come out and eat early tomorrow!" His mother looked fondly at Su Ran as he went back into the game, then turned and went back to her bedroom.

...

"Older sister, I told you, your seductive voice wouldn’t work on Su!" Lin Yuqing lay on her bed, cackling like a victorious chicken, filled with pride. "And of all times, why choose so late? Aren’t you asking for trouble?"

"Hmph, is your Su still a man? He dared to hang up my call!" huffed the lady who had claimed to be Miss Yu. In fact, she was Lin Yuqing’s older sister, Lin Yuting.

"However, speaking of which, this Su’s self-control is pretty impressive. I’ve used this tactic countless times, and each time, the men are completely under my control," Lin Yuting continued indignantly. "This brat, he dares to hang up my call! Where is my face to be saved?"

"Kikiki~" Complexion red, Lin Yuqing choked on her laughter, "Older sister, you like to see yourself as high and pure, even if you act like a siren. Why don’t you find a man and get married soon to stop causing trouble to single young men!"

"Sounds good, you little girl, you dare to make fun of your older sister. Watch out!" Lin Yuting lunged at her, and the two began a rowdy play fight on the bed.

"Hey, but honestly, I nearly wore out my legs for your Su’s sake. For that nourishing soup, I almost sold my body!" Lin Yuting looked at her sister with bewilderment. "Does that silly boy truly not realize the value of the nourishing soup, or is he just pretending?"

"Oh, older sister, there’s one thing bad about you—you’re always too suspicious," Lin Yuqing squinted her eyes with laughter when she remembered Su Ran’s silly look when he was drinking the soup.

"Younger sister, I am not blaming you, but is his body... worth it?" Lin Yuting was completely serious now, unlike her playful self from moments earlier.

"Older sister, all I know is that I like him," Lin Yuqing seemed to recall her past encounters, and she beamed joyfully, "Our mom likes him a lot too!"

"I’m so jealous of you." Lin Yuting suddenly remarked, "Why in the world would that silly Su take a liking to a fat girl like you?"

"Hmph! Older sister, I’m not going to talk to you!"

...

After Su Ran logged on, the first thing he did was to check his surroundings. Fortunately, no other players were around. He continued to head towards the waterfall, located behind the Undead Skull’s domain. He didn’t feel any need to hide his movements due to the location, so he moved casually towards the back of the waterfall. Using the waterfall as a cover, Su Ran began to climb the steep rock wall. After a while, the little skull finally made it into the semi-tall hole.

Su Ran crawled through the long tunnel. Thanks to his experience with the Lava Bone Wolf, he didn’t panic and in no time, Su Ran saw the huge ice sculpture where the remnants of the Great White Shark lay.

Excited, Su Ran pulled out his newbie hoe and began to dig into the ice layer where the Great White Shark’s ribs were. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

"Ding! Because the mining level of player Skull is not up to level 7, excavation is impossible."

Oh damn, you piece of a system!

Su Ran was infuriated. Now he realized how important mining levels really were.

It was like looking at a mountain of treasures but being unable to lay a finger on it. Could there be a better way to describe Su Ran’s feelings?

Huh!

Little Skull suddenly noticed that there were stairs spiraling upwards in this space. Was this a hidden area? The stone staircase leading to the unknown instantly made him decide to go up and check it out!

Su Ran commanded the Lava Bone Wolf to climb up to the top of the giant ice sculpture. With one leap, it landed on the hidden staircase and began climbing, scouting ahead.

Little Skull followed immediately, jumping onto the stairway in one leap.

The stone staircase spiraled and twisted upwards. The end seemed to shimmer with mystery, sending a wave of fear to the slightly acrophobic Su Ran. His legs began trembling, but he quickly gritted his teeth and continued. After all, the more dangerous the map, the greater the chance to find the Dreamseeking Mirror!

The Lava Bone Wolf led the way ahead. Its fiery body illuminating the place like a beacon in the night, making Su Ran’s journey much easier and more reassuring.

Suddenly, Little Skull found that the top of the staircase was blocked by a rock layer, leaving no other path. Without a second word, it took the newbie hoe out of its bladder and straight away started digging!

"Bang" "Bang"

One by one, rocks of varying sizes fell as Su Ran dug them out. They fell onto the giant ice sculpture and shattered into rubble on the ground.

"Boom!"

Soon, Su Ran had excavated a hole through the top layer of stone. After the difficult climb, he crawled through and entered the hidden space.

This place was very dark. Luckily, he had his alter ego, the Lava Bone Wolf, whose body glowed like a twisted light source, allowing Su Ran to clearly see the inside of the cave.

"Wow, a treasure chest!"

In the middle of the cave sat a gigantic treasure chest covered in dust and lacking any gleam. It seemed almost like a rock, so much so that it would’ve been easily missed if one hadn’t looked carefully.
