Chapter 673: Dragon Hunting Moments, Spade Alliance!
Ryuunosuke did not even need to look at the Den Den Mushi.
He already knew who it was.
"Mr. Morgans, what can I do for you?" Ryuunosuke answered calmly.
"It’s time to end the broadcast." Morgans got straight to it. "The whole ocean already knows what the Dragon Hunter Pirates are doing."
"The key point is this. The major powers and plenty of big forces have completely lost control."
"They’re begging for help. The Navy and the Revolutionary Army are swamped dealing with the chaos."
"On top of that, all Dragon Hunter outposts are being treated like holy sites now."
"You’ve basically hit your objective, haven’t you?"
Morgans had always loved watching storms from a safe distance. As a journalist, his job was to throw explosive headlines into the world.
But Ryuunosuke’s news was not explosive.
It was a nuclear bomb.
And yet Morgans was advising him to cut the stream.
That alone said how bad the ripples had gotten.
"Yes. I know." Ryuunosuke’s voice stayed even. "Let’s end it."
He paused, then asked what mattered.
"Anything outside I should be watching?"
"Something you’d care about?" Morgans thought for a moment. "Only one thing, I guess."
"It’s not huge, but it’s weird. The giants led their people and joined the Big Mom Pirates."
"Giants and Charlotte Linlin?" Ryuunosuke froze for a beat.
That was... interesting.
And completely outside what he expected.
"Do you need to step in?" Morgans asked bluntly. "The ocean can’t handle those lunatics stirring trouble right now, can it?"
Morgans was no longer just a journalist.
The entire sea knew it.
He was Ryuunosuke’s loudest mouthpiece.
That was exactly why he asked.
"No." Ryuunosuke waved it off. "Put it aside for now."
Whether it was the giants or Linlin, neither of them was his enemy.
A short exchange later, the call ended.
...
Out on the sea, the moment the broadcast cut, the world erupted.
"The Dragon Hunter Pirates shut it off! Did something happen to them?"
"How could anything happen? That’s the Dragon Hunter Pirates! Didn’t they say it was settled?"
"This is real work. Finish the job and vanish. No credit, no fame!"
"So we’re safe now, right? We don’t have to worry about being sold as slaves anymore?"
On countless islands, everyone who had been watching started arguing the second the image disappeared.
Because what the Dragon Hunter Pirates had done was not distant politics.
It was life and death.
Then a familiar face filled the screen.
"Hello, everyone! Morgans here!"
"On behalf of Captain Ryuunosuke of the Dragon Hunter Pirates, I’m announcing the following to the world."
"First, any kingdom willing to join the New World Reform can contact the nearest Navy branch and entrust them with the reform process."
"Second, if oppressive behavior continues in the kingdom you live in, contact the nearest Navy branch and report it."
"Finally, the Dragon Hunter Pirates will no longer interfere in matters across the seas, but any act that challenges authority will be eliminated."
Morgans finished those three points and immediately cut the feed again.
...
Elsewhere, on a ship drifting through darker waters.
Marshall D Teach stared at the screen with a puzzled look. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"What the hell are the Dragon Hunter Pirates trying to do?" Blackbeard muttered.
When the broadcast started, the Dragon Hunter Pirates were still on some unfamiliar island. Nothing looked abnormal.
So why the sudden announcement?
Was Ryuunosuke about to do something extremely dangerous?
Dangerous enough that even he lacked confidence, so he prepared the world in advance?
"I don’t know," Lafitte said coolly. "But Teach, this is Vista’s squad. We’ve confirmed there aren’t any other division commanders nearby."
"Should we move now?"
Lafitte did not care what Ryuunosuke was planning.
He cared about what they could take right now.
Worrying about someone else’s storm was pointless.
What mattered was the knife already at the throat.
"Vista?" Blackbeard’s grin widened. "Perfect."
"We’ll use this to see what the Dragon Hunter Pirates are really doing."
"Let’s begin."
"Zehahahaha..."
His speculation was meaningless.
If they killed Vista and the Dragon Hunter Pirates did nothing, that revealed one truth.
If they reacted, that revealed another.
Either way, Blackbeard would learn.
"Teach." Van Augur stepped into the cabin. "That kid is here to see you."
"That kid?" Blackbeard immediately thought of one person. "Momonosuke?"
They had been in contact recently. He knew Momonosuke would show up around now.
But why?
His plan in Wano had failed. He was practically useless.
In Wano now, nobody dared touch him, not with Dragon Hunter forces stationed there.
Wano was rich, but not rich enough to make anyone suicidal.
So Momonosuke could not find allies.
Then why come here?
"I don’t know," Van Augur said, indifferent. "He said he’ll tell you when he sees you."
Blackbeard’s curiosity won.
He walked out to meet him.
"Mr. Teach." Momonosuke stepped forward to greet him.
Blackbeard did not bother with warmth.
"Why are you here?" he asked. "If it’s about Wano, I’m not interested."
They were not friends.
If Momonosuke came to him, it meant he needed something.
So skip the ceremony.
"I know what the Dragon Hunter Pirates are doing right now," Momonosuke said with a smile.
"Are you interested?"
Blackbeard’s expression shifted instantly.
"What are they going to do?"
"Is it related to what’s happening across the sea?" he asked.
He claimed he did not care, but the moment real information was in reach, he could not deny the pull.
Morgans had become a government mouthpiece. His people would never sell information to pirates.
And Morgans’ men were all those big birds.
Getting anything out of them was a joke.
So if Momonosuke truly knew something...
Then it was worth hearing.
"It seems you’re interested," Momonosuke said lightly.
"Before I reveal anything, I want a cooperation agreement with you, Mr. Teach."
"Wano must belong to the Kozuki clan."
"Wano?" Blackbeard laughed under his breath, eyes narrowing. "Since you’re talking cooperation, I want to know something too."
"What is it about Wano that has you this obsessed?"
He had felt it since their last cooperation.
No, since the moment they started working together.
Momonosuke’s fixation on Wano was too deep.
It did not feel like a man chasing a country.
It felt like a man chasing an object.
