One Piece: Invincible Starting From The Fruit Of Words-Chapter 172 Recycling The Yamata No Orochi Fruit Of Phantom Beast
Chapter 172 - 172 Recycling The Yamata No Orochi Fruit Of Phantom Beast
Kurozumi Orochi, a user of the Yamata no Orochi Devil Fruit, cannot die simply by having one of his heads severed. Only by cutting off all eight heads can he be completely killed.
Though the Orochi may not die today, it is merely a matter of time. His survival is nothing more than prolonging the inevitable.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The sound of battle reverberated throughout the General's Mansion as guards rushed in from all directions. They were horrified to see Kurozumi Orochi in such a pitiful state.
"Useless fools, save me!" Orochi bellowed as he struggled to withstand the relentless onslaught from Inuarashi and Nekomamushi.
However, before his cries for help could reach their ears, a sudden flash of sword light slashed through the ranks of the guards.
Boom!
A group of guards was instantly cut down by the blinding slash, leaving a gaping open space in the battlefield.
"Kyo... Kyo... Kyo... Kyoshiro! What are you doing?" Orochi screamed, his voice trembling with terror. "Are you betraying me?"
Kurozumi Orochi's face twisted in disbelief. He never expected Kyoshiro, his most trusted subordinate, to turn against him in such a critical moment.
Kyoshiro, however, did not reply. He let out a sinister laugh, raising his sword without hesitation.
Clang!
A massive flying slash surged forward, cutting through everything in its path. Dozens of guards and even three buildings of the General's Mansion were bisected in one clean strike.
The remaining guards, paralyzed with fear, began to scatter. Yet before they could flee, another flying slash followed, wiping out the rest.
Kyoshiro moved swiftly and mercilessly. In less than half a minute, he unleashed three consecutive slashes, killing hundreds of guards.
"Kyo... Kyoshiro! Are you really betraying me?" Orochi shrieked, his voice cracking. "Have you forgotten who gave you your position? Damned traitor! If you stop now, I'll give you another chance!"
Orochi's desperate roars betrayed his fear, his trembling body exposing his panic.
Inuarashi and Nekomamushi were equally stunned.
"What's going on?" Inuarashi muttered, his eyes wide in shock.
"Isn't he supposed to be Orochi's lackey?" Nekomamushi replied. "Are they... turning on each other?"
Ignoring Orochi's cries, Kyoshiro sneered coldly.
"Orochi, do you still remember Kozuki Oden?" Kyoshiro's voice cut through the chaos like a blade.
Orochi froze at the mention of that name. A wave of terror washed over him as his massive snake body began trembling uncontrollably.
Inuarashi and Nekomamushi also widened their eyes in shock. At that moment, they found Kyoshiro's presence eerily familiar.
Kyoshiro let out a low chuckle before removing his crescent-shaped headgear. As he stripped off his outer garments, his true identity was revealed.
The guards, Orochi, and even Inuarashi and Nekomamushi gasped in unison.
The Kozuki family crest was tattooed prominently on Kyoshiro's back.
"You... You're..." Orochi stammered, his voice quaking.
"Denjiro!"
Inuarashi and Nekomamushi's voices overlapped in unison. Tears welled up in their eyes as they recognized their old comrade.
"That's right," Kyoshiro said calmly, turning to face his stunned allies. "I am Denjiro, one of Kozuki Oden's loyal retainers."
"Inuarashi, Nekomamushi, it's been a long time."
"Denjiro! It really is you!" Inuarashi exclaimed, overwhelmed with joy.
While the reunion brought tears to Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, Kurozumi Orochi was paralyzed with fear.
Every nerve in Orochi's body screamed in panic. The man he had trusted most, the one he thought was his loyal subordinate, had been Kozuki Oden's retainer all along.
"Oden! Oden! Oden!" Orochi roared in madness. "Why? Why aren't you dead yet?"
His massive body trembled as the sheer terror overtook him.
"Damn it! You should have died long ago!" Orochi bellowed, his voice filled with frustration and fear.
Four severed heads of Yamata no Orochi began to regenerate as the devil fruit's power surged to restore his full form.
Denjiro snorted coldly. "Now is not the time for a reunion. Let's kill Orochi once and for all!"
Without another word, Denjiro leaped into the fray.
With a flash of his blade, one of Orochi's regenerated snake heads was severed.
"Well said!" Inuarashi roared, his beast form charging forward.
"It's time to avenge Lord Oden!" Nekomamushi growled, his claws glowing with ferocity.
Clang! Roar!
The combined assault of Denjiro, Inuarashi, and Nekomamushi overwhelmed Orochi. Two more of his heads were severed in the blink of an eye.
Kurozumi Orochi's screams filled the hall. His roars of desperation were met only with silence.
In their next attack, Denjiro and the two Minks simultaneously unleashed their strongest moves.
Three more of Orochi's heads were severed in a single moment.
"Why?" Orochi whispered weakly, his trembling body barely holding on. "Why did you come back? Oden is dead... Why aren't you dead too?"
No one answered him.
What followed was the relentless fury of those seeking justice for Kozuki Oden.
Inuarashi, Nekomamushi, and Denjiro struck their final blows, ensuring the demise of Kurozumi Orochi.
At this time, Kurozumi Orochi's snake heads had not fully regenerated, and he only had two heads left.
"Stop, stop quickly!" Kurozumi Orochi screamed in terror.
"Don't kill me! Don't kill me!"
"Have you bastards forgotten? Kaido is behind me!"
"If you kill me, Kaido won't let you go!"
"What about Kaido?"
"No one can save you today!"
Inuarashi, Nekomamushi, and Denjiro, all red-eyed with fury, roared in unison.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
With three swift strikes, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi severed Kurozumi Orochi's last two snake heads.
Denjiro's katana pierced Orochi's heart.
To ensure Orochi's death, Denjiro and the others didn't give him a chance to survive.
Plop!
The massive snake head fell to the ground, rolling several times before coming to a stop in a pool of blood.
With eight snake heads beheaded and his heart pierced, Kurozumi Orochi was beyond dead.
His enormous body collapsed, slowly shrinking, reverting back into the form of the large snake.
One of the severed heads reformed into Orochi's head.
His eyes remained open, filled with endless fear.
Huff!
Inuarashi and Nekomamushi shook off Orochi's blood simultaneously, then snorted coldly.
"So what about Kaido? The Demon Lucifer is behind us!"
With Lucifer as their ally, Inuarashi and Nekomamushi had no fear of Kaido.
They knew Lucifer's strength, and Kaido didn't stand a chance against him.
Looking at Kurozumi Orochi's lifeless body, Denjiro felt a surge of emotion and tears welled up in his eyes.
"Finally, finally, the big snake is dead!"
"Lord Oden, we've avenged you!"
The tough man who had been hiding beside Orochi for more than ten years finally let his emotions show.
The hatred, the killing intent he had concealed for so long, now broke free. Pretending to serve Orochi, acting as a loyal dog to him—this wasn't something just anyone could do.
It required an extraordinarily sharp mind and a resolute will.
Denjiro was such a person.
"It's too early to be celebrating, Denjiro!"
Inuarashi patted Denjiro on the shoulder.
"I want to avenge Lord Oden too, but the big snake is only part of the story. The real enemy is Kaido."
"Well said."
Nekomamushi licked his paw, a cold look in his eyes. "Only by killing Kaido can we truly avenge Lord Oden!"
"Do you already have a plan?"

Although they hadn't seen each other for over ten years, Denjiro still trusted Inuarashi and Nekomamushi implicitly.
This was why he had been willing to reveal his true identity and take action to kill Orochi.
Denjiro believed that Inuarashi and Nekomamushi must have a plan to kill Kaido, which is why they had come to Wano.
He didn't need to stay undercover any longer.
"Ah, that's right."
"As long as Mr. Lucifer helps us."
Inuarashi and Nekomamushi turned to look at Lucifer, who was calmly eating.
"Oh? Did you finally remember me?"
Lucifer smiled faintly.
He didn't interrupt the trio's conversation about the past; after all, they hadn't seen each other in over ten years.
Lucifer walked up to the giant snake's body and grabbed it with his massive hand.
"Rebirth."
As soon as the words left his mouth, the ordinary fruit in Lucifer's hand transformed into a Devil Fruit at a speed visible to the naked eye.
The fruit resembled a pineapple with six stems and leaves at the top, their ends rounded and triangular.
The surface of the fruit was covered with scales like those of a snake, with strange spiral patterns on them.
This was the form of the Zoan-type, Mythical Beast, Snake-Snake Fruit, Yamata no Orochi—Lucifer's first recovered Mythical Beast fruit.
(Note: The Vampire Fruit doesn't count, as it was obtained from the ruins of the Sleeping Ancient Town, not recycled.)
Every Mythical Beast Devil Fruit possesses abilities rarer than Logia fruits and are immensely powerful. Yamata no Orochi was no exception.
That waste, Kurozumi Orochi, didn't even utilize one percent of its power.
But in Lucifer's hands, this fruit would truly showcase its brilliance.
