The island shuddered as if struck by a giant's hammer. Cracks, like spiderwebs on glass, raced outwards from the epicenter. A thousand meters of earth exploded skyward in a cataclysmic roar.

Yamato rushed towards him, worry etched on her face. The clash between Roya and Akainu had been blindingly fast; she hadn't been able to offer any support. Her own body was crisscrossed with cuts and bruises from her ongoing battle.

"Stay back! This isn't over!"

Roya's voice was sharp, a warning shout that stopped Yamato in her tracks. His eyes, narrowed and intense, were fixed on the darkness below, searching for any sign of Akainu.

He knew what an Admiral was capable of. Even if his attack had landed squarely on Akainu's head, it wouldn't be enough to finish him.

A Marine Admiral was a force of nature, a monster that could stand toe-to-toe with a Four Emperor. Even if they were ultimately weaker, the difference couldn't be that significant.

"Sizzle..."

Roya lifted his arm, smoke curling from his skin like steam. Sweat and blood evaporated in the air, forming a faint, crimson mist.

The temperature was rising, and fast.

"Where is he?!"

Roya pushed his Observation Haki to its absolute limit, his senses screaming. He whirled around, his gaze locking onto a spot behind him. The ground there was bulging, straining, crisscrossed with angry, charred cracks.

"BOOM!"

A geyser of molten magma erupted skyward!

"BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!"

More explosions followed, each one a deafening roar that shook the very air.

The ground buckled and split, spewing forth rivers of boiling lava. The battlefield transformed into a landscape of miniature volcanoes, a hellscape of fire and destruction.

The entire area was drowning in magma, leaving no place to stand, no refuge from the heat. Survival itself was questionable, let alone the prospect of continuing the fight.

"Devil Fruit Awakening!"

The hairs on Roya's neck stood on end, a primal warning shooting through him.

There was no doubt. This was the power of Devil Fruit Awakening, the ability to fundamentally alter the environment itself.

It was like Thunder God Island, where the skies raged with perpetual storms.

But where Thunder God Island was a symphony of thunderclouds and lightning, this place was becoming a volcanic wasteland, a world consumed by magma.

Which was more terrifying? He couldn't say.

One thing was certain: Logia-types were not inferior to Mythical Zoans. The power of Awakening was a cataclysmic force!

"Monster!"

Roya's mouth was dry, his throat burning. The moisture was being sucked from his body at an alarming rate. He had to find a way to counter the heat, or his body wouldn't last.

He felt the surge of violent energy from below. He yanked on Little Pink's mane, and the dragon obeyed instantly, flapping its wings and soaring into the sky.

A colossal fist of magma erupted from the crater, missing Little Pink by a hair's breadth. Akainu emerged from the fiery depths, charging towards Roya like a vengeful god!

"Roya!"

"Akainu!"

Roya's eyes blazed with defiance.

In a straight-up clash of power, he couldn't match Akainu. But the Admiral had been fighting for hours, pushing his own stamina to the limit. He couldn't have emerged from their previous encounter unscathed!

"Little Pink, circle around!"

"Awoo!"

Little Pink howled, frantically flapping its wings, the Flame Cloud beneath it spinning in a dizzying circle. A powerful wind began to swirl around them.

As Akainu lunged forward, the wind intensified into a violent gale!

"Tornado!"

The raging vortex slammed into Akainu, trapping him in its furious embrace!

"Damn it!"

Akainu fought against the relentless winds, but it was no use. He was pulled into the heart of the storm, tossed and spun like a rag doll.
