Chapter 311 - 311: Slaughter in the Sky, Despair on the Ground

Marshal Nixa and his officers barely had time to cry out before the deafening explosion drowned out their voices.

The shockwave that followed nearly knocked them off their feet as their entire airship rocked violently.

However—Before they could even react, three more golden beams shot up from below, striking true. Another magic warship and two more magic airships erupted into flames, obliterated in an instant.

"Scatter!"

"Descend!"

"The enemy has powerful anti-air capabilities! Get to the ground and take them out!"

Marshal Nixa gripped his drawn longsword tightly, shouting at the top of his lungs.

This time, he amplified his voice with magic, ensuring every single soldier and mage heard him clearly. Slowly, the fleet began to recover from its panic.

One by one, the magic warships and airships started their descent.

But in the process, more golden flashes rained down, tearing through another eight airships.

That left only eight of their original twenty.

Casualties were devastating—more than half the fleet was lost!

By the time the survivors reached the ground, fewer than 14,000 were left.

"H-How did this happen?!"

Marshal Nixa's face was grim as he surveyed the battlefield, his forces in complete disarray.

And worse yet—they still hadn't even seen their enemy.

General Slav, his face twisted in shock and fury, roared, "Could... could this be the power of Void magic?!"

Ignoring him, Nixa once again amplified his voice, bellowing at the scattered, panicked troops scrambling off the airships.

"Regroup! Spread out and get ready for combat!"

His firm command had an immediate effect.

These were professional soldiers. They quickly organized themselves into formation—infantry at the front, archers in the middle, and mages in the rear.

Nearly 15,000 troops regrouped.

Over 500 armored mage knights, mounted on fire-breathing dragons, spread out in the sky, charging toward the direction from which the beams had come.

They had to locate the enemy.

They needed to know how many there were and what had fired those deadly blasts.

Meanwhile—Roughly three kilometers away, atop a windswept hill—Levi stood still, his deadpan gaze fixed on the horizon.

His expression was unreadable, as if he cared little for the dark specks appearing in the sky—let alone the massive army advancing in the distance.

Behind him stood a towering five-meter giant, silent and imposing.

This figure possessed sharp, curved bull horns, with a mane of gray-blue hair cascading down his back like a lion's. A white fur coat, speckled with black, draped over his massive frame, while thick bronze rings encased his forearms, partially covered by black metal gauntlets.

Yet the most striking feature—Was the eerie blue glow emanating from his right chest, and the faintly shimmering blue light within his piercing eyes.

This was the 'Corrupt King,' Avalo Pizarro.

Or rather—It might be more accurate to say he used to be Avalo Pizarro. Now, he had a different name.

Conqueror-Class CR-2!

"You take the ground. I'll handle the sky."

Levi glanced coldly at the towering figure before taking off, vanishing into the air as a streak of green.

Meanwhile, Conqueror-Class CR-2 registered Levi's command.

His glowing, reptilian eyes pulsed as he activated an advanced detection system—the 'Justice Radar Scanner,' a creation of the infamous Doctor Stylish.

Within moments, the entire enemy force several kilometers away had been analyzed.

"Command acknowledged. Target confirmed."

[Boom!!]

In the next moment, its massive form shattered the rock it had just landed on, while it relentlessly pushed forward through the semi-transparent air barrier it had created, charging head-on with overwhelming force.

The Conqueror-Class CR-2 remained silent, but its presence was nothing short of earth-shattering. Before long, it was noticed by the dragon riders who had flown ahead.

However—Their target wasn't the Conqueror-Class CR-2, but rather a green blur, moving impossibly fast, seemingly gliding through the air.

The movement of this figure, compared to the previous one, was so quiet it could be described as completely undetectable.

Looking closely at his feet—It appeared that there were transparent bubbles breaking apart with each step.

"What is that?"

While most of the dragon riders' attention was focused on the massive figure below, rampaging through trees and rocks with brute force, heading straight toward their formation, one dragon rider finally noticed something in the sky.

It seemed like a large cluster of bubbles.

But soon, he realized that these bubbles were rushing toward them like a fast-moving tide.

"Get ready!!"

"Is this some kind of water magic?!"

As more dragon riders noticed the bubbles, some began ordering their fire dragons to breathe fire.

But before their flames could fully form—Everyone was submerged in a sea of bubbles.

However, the dragon riders soon realized that these bubbles weren't ordinary ones.

Not only did they cause no harm, but they also popped the moment they touched anything.

"AAAHHH—!!"

A scream, accompanied by the sickening sound of flesh being torn apart, and the anguished roar of a fire dragon, rang out.

Everyone jumped in shock.

But when they instinctively tried to locate the source of the attack and the attacker, they found that the bubbles were so dense that they couldn't see anything through them.

However—The screams kept echoing, and soon the scent of blood filled the air as it spread through the bubble sea.

Finally, someone saw something...

It was a mass of rapidly spinning green winds!

No, wait.

It should be called a Blade Storm!

...

"Ahhh!"

"Ugh!!"

"Damn it! Where is he? Pfft—!"

Under the vast blue sky, amidst a dazzling sea of iridescent bubbles glistening in the sunlight, screams of despair, terror, and rage echoed relentlessly.

Below—Scarlet blood rained down through the gaps between the bubbles, falling like a crimson downpour.

Headless armored bodies and the lifeless crimson forms of dragons plummeted to the ground like discarded trash, their severed heads—human and dragon alike—twisted in grotesque agony.

The dragon knights, driven to desperation, no longer cared if they struck their own allies. They unleashed their elemental magic wildly in every direction.

In an instant—Columns of fire, raging whirlwinds, and razor-sharp ice spikes tore through the bubbles, wreaking havoc.

Yet, no matter what they did, the bubbles seemed endless. Even when magic blasted a hole through them, more bubbles immediately surged in to fill the gap.

Some knights attempted to escape from above or below.

But those who tried were either sliced apart by incoming emerald wind blades or, worse, struck down by their allies' stray magic.

Even the lucky few who reached the bubble sea's edge—who glimpsed the open sky beyond—suddenly found their strength drained. Their bodies went limp, and they could do nothing but watch as the ground rushed toward them.

...

Levi watched the carnage, his face expressionless.

His movements were seamless and silent, a green whirlwind of destruction slicing through the sea of bubbles. Using Moonwalk in tandem with the various sword techniques of Wind Breathing, he became a storm of death.

Swift. Efficient. Kill in one strike.

Every slash of his blade found the necks of fire dragons and their riders!

...

Meanwhile, on the vast plains below—A massive army of fifteen thousand finally caught sight of the 'man' attacking them.

Because that man was charging straight at them, pushing a massive, visible force field ahead of him.

The deafening roar of air splitting apart sent shivers down the soldiers' spines.

"What the hell is that?!"

"A... giant troll?"

General Slav stared in shock at the towering figure—nearly three men tall and two men wide. When his gaze landed on the long, curved horns protruding from its head, a horrifying realization struck him.

"No way... Could it be a demon?"

"A demon... Yes! Yes! It has to be a demon!"

"Hmm."

Even Marshal hesitated to refute the claim this time. The creature did resemble the demons from legend. But whatever it was, one thing was certain—it was an enemy.

"Fire!"

At his command, the archers behind the shield wall knocked their arrows, drew their bows, and released in unison.

A storm of arrows filled the sky, forming a fleeting black cloud before plummeting like deadly rain.

"Fire!"

The order rang out again. The second row of archers lost their arrows, followed swiftly by the third.

[Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!]

The three consecutive waves of arrows rained down, blanketing the battlefield and leaving Conqueror CR-2 with no room to evade.

At the same time, the mages stationed at the rear began chanting in low voices. Bright flames gathered at the tips of their long war staffs, casting an ominous glow across the field.

Yet, Conqueror CR-2 didn't even flinch.

The dense storm of arrows struck its body with sharp metallic clangs, each impact sending sparks flying as the projectiles shattered into useless fragments.

Conqueror CR-2 was no ordinary being—it was a mechanized cyborg, constructed from shape-memory alloy. Its outer shell was reinforced with bioengineered Kabane Heart Membrane, making it virtually impervious to conventional attacks.

Even the fur coat draped over its shoulders was anything but normal. It came from a Class-Two Danger Beast. As if that weren't enough, an additional layer of Kabane Heart Membrane was bonded to the coat's surface, further enhancing its resilience.

Ordinary arrows fired by mere humans stood no chance. Even a barrage from automatic rifles would struggle to break through its layered defenses.

And magic?

With a thunderous roar, a barrage of fireballs—each twice the size of a basketball—erupted from the mages' staffs, streaking across the sky like a fiery cascade.

But they weren't finished yet.

Following Marshal's orders, earth and water mages pushed forward, positioning themselves between the ranks of archers.

Towering walls of solid earth rose in front of the shield-bearers, reinforced moments later by a thick layer of hardened ice.

Then, the fireballs struck.

[BOOM!!!]

A storm of fire engulfed the battlefield, detonating in a chain of violent explosions. Roaring flames surged outward, consuming everything in their wake—even the colossal figure of Conqueror CR-2 disappeared within the inferno.

The searing heat waves rolled across the field, forcing even Marshal and his officers to squint against the glare. Then, slowly, their tense expressions eased into smiles.

There was no way anything could have survived that.

Even if their enemy was some kind of mythical demon, it had to be gravely wounded—if not dead. And if it wasn't dead... well, maybe they could capture a demon and bring it back as a prize.

[BEEEEEP—]

Just as the flames began to fade, leaving only thick, swirling smoke behind—

A sudden, golden four-pointed star flickered within the darkness.

A split second later, a strange mechanical hum cut through the silence.

Before anyone could react, a blinding golden beam sliced through the smoke—

And in an instant, it obliterated the thick ice-reinforced walls in its path.

[BOOM!!]

The explosion that followed was unlike anything they had seen before. Far beyond the destructive power of a simple Fireball, the golden blast expanded in a dome of searing flames, swallowing everything within a fifty-meter radius.

"This... this is impossible..."

Marshal stood frozen, his mind struggling to process what had just happened.

Arrows were useless. Fireballs had no effect. Even earth and ice fortifications had failed to stop it.

How the hell were they supposed to fight this?
