Chloe Sterling didn’t respond to Damian Rivers. Instead, she turned to Chase Langdon and asked, "Why did you call me here?"

"Uh..." Chase Langdon glanced at Damian Rivers, then back at Chloe Sterling. The implication was obvious: Damian Rivers had asked him to call her.

Chloe Sterling frowned slightly.

Chase Langdon quickly explained, "He has something serious to ask you. A relative of his is sick, and the situation isn’t looking good. He wants to see if you can help. You should go take a look."

Chloe Sterling pressed her lips together, saying nothing.

"Sigh." Damian Rivers suddenly let out a soft sigh. "Never mind. I’ll just figure something else out. I’ll be going. You two can talk."

Chloe Sterling suddenly spoke up. "Where is she? What’s the situation?"

Damian Rivers stopped in his tracks and turned to look at her. "In Norwall. My aunt was already in poor health, but she’s gotten much weaker recently. Can you... come with me?"

"Just weakness? What did the hospital say?"

Damian Rivers’s lips curled into a slight smile as he explained, "Uncle, this is the Pharmacist friend I told you about, Chloe Sterling. I asked her to come take a look at Auntie."

"A Pharmacist!" Seth Sutton looked astonished. "So young!"

Damian Rivers said, "She is young, but she’s very good."

"Oh." Seth Sutton sounded skeptical, but since Damian Rivers had brought her, he didn’t press the issue. "Hello, Miss Sterling. Thank you for coming."

Chloe Sterling gave a slight nod.

Damian Rivers then asked, "How is my aunt doing?"

Seth Sutton sighed, his expression grim. "Not well. You two should go in and see for yourselves. By the way, your mother and Miss Sinclair are here too."

"Miss Sinclair? Phoebe Sinclair?" Damian Rivers’s brows furrowed slightly.

"That’s right, Miss Phoebe. She came with your mother."

Damian Rivers glanced sideways at Chloe Sterling’s face. Seeing her completely unfazed expression, he relaxed a little.

The three of them entered the bedroom.

Phoebe Sinclair, who had been chatting and laughing with Serena Lockwood, showed a flash of surprise when she saw Chloe Sterling and Damian Rivers walk in. Her expression immediately soured.

"Well..." Seth Sutton was hesitant. He looked from Damian Rivers to Serena Lockwood and asked worriedly, "Damian, Serena, is this... child a medical student? Has she even graduated?"

Damian Rivers shot the old doctor a cold glare before turning back to Seth Sutton. "Uncle, ability has nothing to do with age."

Serena Lockwood added, "Brother-in-law, Miss Sterling is truly very capable."

Ever since Chloe Sterling had cured Old Master Lockwood, Serena Lockwood had developed a new level of respect for her. ’This woman really does have some skill,’ she thought.

Phoebe Sinclair cut in, "Chloe Sterling, Old Mr. Chamberlain has been practicing medicine for many years and is highly respected in Crestfall. You’d best not make baseless accusations."
