Chapter 278: #False Creation

“False Creation!”

Such was All Phenomena Author’s innate power.

Sss!

His golden-nibbed pen began writing out his existence in the world.

There was light from the dawn of time.

Suddenly, a blinding light engulfed War God. He let out a bloodcurdling scream as his vision turned completely white.

-Aaaargh! Yu Il-Shin, you bastaaard!

***

“Aaargh!”

War God could finally open his eyes. He didn’t know how much time had passed, but he’d returned to his human form.

Whirrrrr!

The barren, black desert greeted him. Instead of mountains, a yellow sky full of sulfuric gas hung above War God—a sight all too familiar to him.

War God clenched his teeth so hard that blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.

“Why am I back here again?!”

It was the same desert where his duel with Yu Il-Shin began.

Did that bastard trap me in another one of his illusions?

“Gaaaaah!” War God roared in frustration.

He’d willingly die in a fierce battle, but being trapped in an illusion because his opponent was too cowardly to put up a fight was just unbearable!

“Yu Il-Shin, you rat! I will never forgive you! You’ll pay for humiliating me to this extent!”

Furious, he attempted to return to his territory, but nothing happened. Perhaps, it was to be expected since it was Yu Il-Shin’s illusion. War God raised his sickle-shaped greatsword high.

“Hmph! I’ll crush this world!”

Like before, he gathered his overwhelming divine power to tear the world apart. However, his greatsword only sliced air.

“W-what?”

War God was shocked. His divine power didn’t work! He examined himself, and thankfully, the divine power that he’d accumulated for eons was still there. However, like a clogged pipe, something was blocking it from flowing out properly.

Ding!

Just then, a notification sound rang, and a dry, robotic voice that resembled Yu Il-Shin’s voice followed.

-You cannot escape from False Creation, created using All Phenomena Author’s innate power, until all conditions are met.

“Conditions?” War God's face crumpled.

In some cases, gods with little divine power would grow stronger after imposing restrictions, a phenomenon often caused by gods with sealing or barrier abilities. For example, depending on their divine title—which defined their identity—they’d need to perform a daily act of kindness or receive human sacrifices. Of course, War God despised such weak methods.

“I’ll break out of this pathetic barrier in no time and cut off your head, Yu Il-Shin!”

Just as he resolved to take revenge on Yu Il-Shin, doubt entered his mind.

Tzzz!

The yellow sky seemed to have cleared up and turned a clear blue. At the same time, the barren land, devoid of any life, transformed into fertile soil.

Poof poof!

Like musical notes on a music score, sprouts sprang out of the ground in clusters.

Swooosh!

As if time had sped up thousands of times, the sprouts grew rapidly across the plain. Soon, everything was covered with dense forests, resembling the Amazon Rainforest. The dying, remote planet brimmed with life.

I shan’t be deceived! This is Yu Il-Shin’s scheme to sway me!

Pwoosh!

Planting his greatsword into the fertile ground, War God closed his eyes. Everything was a mere illusion, anyway! He had to find a way to escape from this accursed world! Even a Lowest-tier god could break through the illusion as long as they could determine the barrier’s restriction! War God searched through the memories of the battles and wars that he and his apostles had experienced.

Squish! Squelch squelch!

War God felt a weird sensation at his feet. He frowned at the unexpected interference, half-opening his eyes. It had to be another one of Yu Il-Shin’s tricks! There was no way that man would let him escape that easily!

What trickery did he come up with this time?

War God expected some hideous monsters, like the alien army from before, but it didn't matter. Nothing could deter him, who had experienced all sorts of battles imaginable to any—

“Oompa oompa.”

“Oompa?”

Contrary to his expectations, the creature was barely a meter tall. It was covered in sparkling silver scales, with fins resembling a fish. However, it also walked on four legs like a land animal.

[Adami], [Evie]

The pair of creatures, who seemed like a boy and a girl, had status windows displaying their names.

They rubbed their faces against War God’s feet and looked up at him with innocent, round black eyes.

“Oompa oompa?”

If they were pets on Earth, their cuteness would’ve caused a sensation. War God was naturally unaffected, though.

“Get lost, you worthless creatures!” War God roared, stomping the ground.

“Oompaaa!” Adami and Evie burst into tears, fleeing.

War God clicked his tongue and closed his eyes again. Had they been the alien monsters, he’d have crushed them. However, those frail creatures didn’t seem to have combat abilities whatsoever; he didn’t want to waste his powers on them.

However, moments later...

“Oompa oompa♬”

“Oompa♡?”

“Oompaa❤❤!”

The distinctive, annoying smooching of the small creatures echoed from all directions.

Maybe I should have just killed them.

Disrupted once more, War God’s eyes flung open in anger.

T-there’s more of them?

War God was taken aback. The two small creatures returned with an overwhelming number of others!

“Oompa♡!”

“Oompaa❤!”

Adami and Evie blushed shyly as they kissed.

Poof!

Then, a thumbnail-sized egg appeared between them, glowing like a jewel. It cracked all over, and another small creature, identical to Adami and Evie, was born.

“Oompa~”

Overflowing with emotions, Evie embraced her newborn. Adami also tearfully licked his child. While caring for their offspring, they stared passionately at each other and kissed again.

Poof poof poof!

With each kiss, an egg appeared.

Swoosh!

Growing as quickly as the trees, the newborns soon began searching for their mates to kiss. The number of eggs multiplied at a tremendous rate.

“Oompa~ Oompa~!”

“Oompaaa~!”

“Huh?”

War God was speechless. The tiny creatures were covering up everything around him.

The worthless creatures, Oompas, huddled together. They chirped cutely, sounding like a sweet, mellow tune—but to War God, they were as grating as nails on steel.

Finally, a few gutsy ones crawled on War God.

Chu!

One even kissed him on the lips, but why didn’t an egg appear? The Oompa tilted their head curiously, locking eyes with the flustered War God.

Tzzz!

Veins popped on War God’s head, and red steam billowed from his head.

“Oompaaaa!”

The startled Oompa jumped down immediately, which didn't appease War God in the slightest.

“Aaargh! Yu Il-Shin, you vermin!” He never imagined he would be mentally attacked in this way!

War God pulled out his greatsword from the ground.

I'm going to kill them. I'm going to get rid of them like the insects they are!

“Oompa?”

“Oompa oompa~”

War God raised his greatsword, and the swarm of Oompas looked up at him with their round, clear eyes.

Their gazes seemed to say, “Are you really going to kill us when we’re this cute?”

Yes. He ruthlessly swung down his greatsword.

“Huh?! W-what’s this?!”

As if shielded by an invisible wall, his greatsword stopped right above their heads, unable to descend any further.

Yu Il-Shin’s monotonous voice rang out again.

Ding!

-The Oompa Tribe are your follower candidates. Please embrace them with love. Domestic violence is bad.

These creatures are my follower candidates?

-You’ll be able to escape from this world once you gain the true Faith of the Oompa Tribe and become their god.

War God blanked out.

“Oompa?”

“Oompa oompa?”

Their eyes turned to War God for a moment, but they soon lost interest and resumed kissing each other passionately.

Poof poof poof!

Watching them reproduce at a terrifying speed, War God’s veins popped threateningly. The only way to escape this damn world was to become the god of these cretins?! Me, the god of war and slaughter?!

“Yu Il-Shin! You raaaaaat!” War God’s roar echoed into the universe.

***

Meanwhile, back in Silently Crawling Nightmare’s Nightmare Hall...

Swaaa!

The sound of crashing waves, much clearer and more refreshing, echoed through the world like sweet music.

“Y-you?” Nightmare looked up at the source of the noise, startled.

“Kyahaha!”

Fairies carried fruits and flowers amid the leaves that were sparkling in a mysterious rainbow hue. The sight of them fluttering busily everywhere reminded her of a distant memory. It was a time before she became a goddess—when she was still a mere seed cradled in the world forged by the Creator and the Destroyer at the dawn of time

A beautiful girl with a crown on her head, Fairy Queen Aran, gazed silently and uttered a whisper to her.

-Beautiful Flower Goddess, please wake up from this nightmare.

Flower Goddess? Who? Me?

Sss! Baaam!

At the same time, huge branches of an unknown tree spread out in all directions, and Nightmare’s world shattered into pieces.

***

Voices echoed in Nightmare’s ears.

“D-did you really seal that powerful War God?”

“Not really. He’ll be released once he meets the conditions. Even then, he would need to be a kind god who cared for the Oompa Tribe like a parent.”

“But even with the restrictions, how can this... Y-you’re truly our god of...”

One of the voices belonged to her annoying twin sister, Infinite Abundance, while the other was her precious...

“Oh, are you awake now, Ms. Sleepyhead?”

Sss—

With her half-open eyes, the sight of Yu Il-Shin smiling like a boy greeted her. He was holding her in his arms.

“Ah...”

He was so dazzling, like a ray of sunlight seeping through the darkness.
