Oh No, Daddy Sent Me To The Beast World!-Chapter 30: I brought back lots of food. We are going to use it with the meat Feng Yiren hunted
In the past, this would have been enough for the old Lin Huahua to explode on the spot.
Even if one of them stood too close to her for too long, she would scold them with disgust. If she was in a bad mood, she might even call for guards. The reason she could bully them so easily was not because she herself was especially strong. Lin Huahua’s body had always been small. She had never been the type who could physically overpower these males on her own.
No.
The real reason was her status.
She was the Rat King’s only daughter. She had influence. She had guards. She only had to say one word, and those guards would rush over and deal with whoever displeased her. The males under her roof could not fight back carelessly, because once they offended her, they were the ones who would suffer.
That was how the old Lin Huahua controlled them.
That was why even now, even after all the changes of the day, Mu Qingyi still had the habit of being careful.
The moment he realized what he had done, he immediately withdrew his hand, his heart tense.
Feng Yiren’s laughter stopped.
Hu Baiyu’s smile faded too.
Even the air seemed to tighten for a moment.
All three males looked at Lin Huahua, waiting for her reaction.
Would she scream?
Would she scold?
Would she call for someone?
Would she glare and say that Mu Qingyi had overstepped?
But Lin Huahua only blinked.
Then she pouted.
That was all.
No anger.
No explosion.
No sharp words.
She only puffed her cheeks a little and muttered, "I am only saying all this because I am worried. You all keep getting hurt and acting like nothing happened. How can I not be angry?"
Her voice was full of grievance.
Real grievance.
It was not the spoiled anger of the old princess who wanted control.
It was the worried frustration of someone who genuinely did not like seeing them suffer.
The three males looked at her.
Then looked at one another.
Something strange moved in their hearts.
Because what they saw today was something they had truly never seen before.
The Lin Huahua from before would have already shouted by now.
She would have slapped away Mu Qingyi’s hand, called him shameless, maybe even summoned guards. She had always kept them at a distance, always made sure they remembered their place, always reminded them that they were beneath her and at her mercy.
But today?
She had not called for a single guard since waking up.
Not once.
And even after Mu Qingyi touched her head without permission, she had not blown up at all.
Instead, she had only pouted and continued talking about how worried she was.
If they had not seen it with their own eyes, they would never have believed it.
Had she really changed?
Or was this just temporary?
The males did not dare believe too easily.
The old pain was too deep for that.
But even if they tried to stay guarded, they could not stop themselves from noticing it.
This Lin Huahua was softer.
Cuter.
Warmer.
And every time she opened her mouth, instead of thorns, there was concern hidden inside.
That made their hearts shake in a way none of them could fully control.
Lin Huahua, of course, did not know what storm was moving in their minds.
She only huffed, crossed her arms, then turned to Hu Baiyu again.
"Fine, forget it," she said, still pouting. "But next time, do not stay outside like this again, alright? You should always put yourself first. If you are hurt, then rest. If you are tired, then sleep. You cannot keep treating your body like it belongs to someone else."
The more she spoke, the more earnest she became.
She truly wanted them to hear this.
After all, in her heart, she was already planning ahead.
One day she would leave this simulation and return to her real world, the sci-fi world she truly belonged to. When that time came, the original Lin Huahua, the placeholder, would return. If these males stayed weak and obedient and willing to endure everything, then would they not just be bullied all over again?
That was why she wanted them to learn now.
To care for themselves. To be stronger. To protect themselves.
But what Hu Baiyu heard was not a lesson.
What he heard was care.
Pure care.
The kind of care he had never expected to receive from her.
His throat moved slightly. His blue eyes softened so much that they almost seemed to melt. For a brief second, he even wanted to lower his head and nudge it against her palm like a large, silent beast asking to be comforted.
He wanted her to pet him.
Just once.
Only once.
But in the end, he held himself back.
He only smiled again, more quietly this time, and looked at her as if she were the warmest thing in the world.
Lin Huahua saw that look and immediately felt her ears grow hot.
Why was he looking at her like that?
She had only been speaking normally!
To hide her embarrassment, she quickly spun around and looked at Mu Qingyi.
Then, as if remembering something important, her eyes brightened.
"Look," she said quickly, all her earlier anger suddenly gone like smoke. "I brought back lots of food. We are going to use it with the meat Feng Yiren hunted."
Mu Qingyi blinked.
His gentle face showed confusion again.
He looked around them. Then he looked at Feng Yiren. Then at Hu Baiyu. Then back at Lin Huahua.
Food?
Where?
The only thing he could see was the basket hanging over Feng Yiren’s shoulder.
Lin Huahua, however, looked extremely pleased with herself.
Clearly, in her little head, she had already imagined a grand meal.
"Let’s go inside, let’s go inside," she said happily, waving her hand as if she was calling a group of children to dinner. Then without waiting for anyone, she turned and ran into the cave house with quick little steps.
Her small figure disappeared through the hide curtain in a flash.
The three males were left outside.
For a moment, no one moved.
Mu Qingyi slowly turned his head toward Feng Yiren. "Where is the food?"
Feng Yiren shrugged lazily, as if this had nothing to do with him at all.
"I don’t know," he said. "She picked a bunch of leaves."
Mu Qingyi fell silent.
Hu Baiyu also looked at the basket, then at the curtain Lin Huahua had run through.
The three of them stood there with almost the same thought.
Could it be...
Had she gone a little crazy?
But in the end, none of them said it aloud.
They simply carried their confusion with them and followed her inside.
