Obtaining Legendray Dragon Template At The Start As A Side-Character!-Chapter 38: The Last Night Before Trial
Reinh was lying on the roof of the mansion, and his eyes were fixed on the moon. Tonight was the last nitgh before trial
Arceus was sitting beside him and, surprisingly, was silent and said nothing.
The dragon’s eyes were also fixed on the moon. As the most powerful dragon in the world, his instincts and intuition were beyond description.
Just by looking at Reinh’s expression, an expression he had never seen on him in these past years, he could tell that starting tomorrow, a new Chapter of this boy’s life would begin.
The Star of Eternal Ruins had many different owners in the past. However, the only one who truly managed to activate its main abilities was this human.
This was what surprised him, and he still could not understand how Reinh managed to do such a thing. But no matter what, he felt that the Star had never had a better owner than this boy.
And that was exactly why he was worried about the future. He could not feel emotions from Reinh, except for the times when that human woman, Lina, was around. At other times, this boy had no emotions.
It was as if he was ready to sacrifice anything for his goal, even the world. This was what worried him. But he did not try to stop him.
He had only one role: to watch over and help the bearer of the Star of Eternal Ruins. Besides, he had already died once, and this world was no longer truly part of his concerns.
He sighed and let go of his thoughts.
"Young Master, you are here at this hour of the night?" An old voice was heard from behind them. Arceus glanced back, then ignored it and lay comfortably again.
It was not like anyone could see or touch him.
"It’s been a while since I saw you," Reinh recognized the voice and said in an indifferent tone.
"I was busy with Clan matters and your father’s orders," August smiled and slowly walked to his side. First, he looked at Reinh’s face, then at the moon.
"The moon is beautiful tonight, Young Master," he added.
The Young Master did not reply. His eyes remained on the moon. It was unclear what he was thinking, and this made the old man sigh.
"One of the Clan’s newbie knights is blinded. Was it your doing young master?"
"Why ask a question when you already know the answer?" Reinh said in the same emotionless and indifferent tone, as if it did not matter that it was known to be his doing.
In truth, he never thought he could really hide it. Even if that new knight said nothing, it was impossible for things in this Clan to stay hidden from the internal intelligence organizations. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Sooner or later, it would be known that he did it. However, as long as that new knight did not complain or confirm the matter, he would remain safe, and the Clan would ignore the issue.
Even though he was not worried about this, it seemed clear that because of his actions, both blinding someone and leading one of the ten youth groups, he had entered the attention range of the Clan’s high authorities.
"Was it really necessary to go that far? I’m sure a normal beating would have worked," August sighed. He already knew the answer.
When he first heard that his Young Master had done such a thing, he did not believe it. But after thinking again, he realized this was exactly the kind of thing his Young Master would do.
"If I didn’t give them an unforgettable lesson, they would bother me again. I don’t like insects disturbing me," Reinh replied.
"I guess nothing can be done. Even though he went blind, he will be healed soon. But it seems that being able to defeat a knight, even a new one, has made you the center of attention of the Celestials."
Seeing that the Young Master did not reply, the old man secretly nodded. From this boy’s view, it might not matter. But in reality, becoming the focus of the Celestials, especially with such a low blood purity percentage, was dangerous.
This was a Clan ruled by a system of bloodline bias. Reinh’s blood purity percentage was very low. So low that he could hardly be considered a direct member of the family.
And now, because he showed such talent and ability, many of those traditional old men with strong beliefs about blood purity might be unhappy.
"Are you worried about me?" Reinh naturally understood the old man’s worries, but there was no worry in his own voice.
"Aren’t you? Those old men might make your path harder."
"Does the Patriarch think the same way?" he asked with slight mockery.
August fell silent, then slowly began to laugh. That’s right. He had been so worried that he forgot an important point.
The Patriarch. The authority of law over the whole Clan. Absolute power. A tyrant whose words were considered Clan law. The only man above the law itself.
"So you plan to turn the trial into chaos?"
"It depends. Maybe yes, maybe no. We’ll see how things go," Reinh did not deny it. Now that he had become the center of attention of the high ranks, it was time to become the center of attention of the entire family.
Besides, this was the only way he could choose that path, the path that no one had chosen for centuries, because they did not dare.
"The Patriarch will watch this trial. This is your best chance," August added.
Reinh’s face hardened for a moment. The Patriarch would watch the trial? This was a bit unexpected. In his past life, that man never came to watch the trial and only read a general report about it.
But now he would come to watch? It was not hard to understand that this was probably because of the reports August had given that man about Reinh’s actions and behavior.
For a moment, hidden mockery flashed in his eyes.
"A god who looks down at the whole world wants to come watch a childish trial. I guess I can’t disappoint him," he said, then added,
"Take care, Young Master. I wish you the best tomorrow." A calm smile appeared on August’s face. Without saying anything else, he turned and left.
After he left, silence returned to the space, and Reinh’s gaze returned to its previous cold state.
